  1. Hi ~ i'll be giving a short/long guide for future newbies of fRO to help them know their ways around the server For starters as you know fRO is a high-rate server (for first time RO players it means your very OP - can lvl up quick - Godmode - can hunt almost everything). Ideally make a farmer (wiz/sniper) aside from ur main char to make it easier along the way since most likely some quest requires a lot of materials to be farmed. Either your a free to play or pay to win player ... it doesn't matter in the game since you'll still be able to go toe-to-toe with top players given time & effort. By the way if your having technical issues in playing fRO ... don't want you guys to miss out on the fun !! click on the link !! ~ might solve your issues XD LINK: ATTENTION ALL NEWBIES !! As of the lastest update (make sure to patch your fRO) you may now enjoy this OP freebie headgear !! P.S sorry my bad editing skills hahaha So we also have a lot of Custom Item/Cards aside from the normal RO stuffs that makes the server unique in its own way make sure to explore like the following links Custom Cards: Custom Items : - https://forsaken-ro.net/forum/wiki/customs/items/ Basic Info : Main City : Forsaken City (go 25) Job changer : Located in Fcity @warp fcity 85 135 Set Up : Highrate Pre-Renewal - only trans no 3rd jobs Max Level : 255/255 - base/job lvl Max Stats : 300 Max Aspd : 195 No Cast : 150 dex No Cooldown (unli spam) : Equip 3 Kiel Mvp card (headgear) Refining & Decarding : 100% success rate (will not fail/break) *NOTE : When decarding make sure u got enough space on inventory/bag or it'll drop on floor TIP : Best map to lvl up fast is @warp for_fild06 ... will be a lot faster if you can find someone to boost you Common Commands used though if u want a complete list use @command & /help @warp/@go - @warp for warping to fields & dungeons though @go usually for towns only @ali/@autoloot - ali loot 1 item / autoloot all items that can fit ur inventory/bag @whodrops - shows what monster drop certain items (useful for hunting) @whereis - shows you where u can find a certain monster (useful for hunting) TIP : can use shortcut [alt+m] and edit for easier/faster application of commands ***As a Beginner doing the following will sure help u alot while exploring the game - path to Semi-Geared *** ❉ Forsaken Knight Quest ❉ - First Quest you probably need to do on ANY new character you make is called "Forsaken Knight Quest" - Its like a pre-requisite quest that will let u do other fRO customed quest (if u not do this - NPC would prob ignore u) - It will also give you a free knight set [2] slotted that you can use temporarily (can also talk to newbie npc in Fcity for freebies) - NPC location: @warp for_king 101 157 TIP : It also gives bonus stats whenever u talk to him everytime after resetting stats via kafra LINK : After that you can focus on gearing up while exploring fRO ❉ Legendary Weapon Quest ❉ - Best weapon for beginners , only 2nd to Donate weapons - Take note that you get the corresponding weapon for your class depending on what job class did the quest (repeatable). - To check different legendary weapon effect go to this link [https://forsaken-ro.net/forum/wiki/customs/items/legendary-weapon-effects-updated-180611-r136/] *NOTE : You only need to get 40m zenny ... the 100m zenny will be given by NPC *NOTE : Roast Rice Cake & Grilled Rice Cake are the SAME item LINK : ❉ Legendary Gauntlet Quest ❉ - Best accessory for newbies that gives +35 stats [0] but no slot for each hand but still better than any normal [1] slot acce (except donate) - Aside from this there's also +40 stats Forsaken Belt [0] (from Forsaken King room in Fcity) and donated accessory that gives +40 stats [1] slot .... but keep in mind for the quest - u need to do it twice to get 2 accessories (its 1 per quest) - NPC location : @warp for_elite 65 102 LINK : ❉ Vote Forsaken Armor Set ❉ - [2] slotted armor set easily obtained via vote with awesome set bonus that will surely help in stat balancing - Compose of blue vote valkyrie helm, armor, shoes, cloak - You can vote 2x a day (every 12 hrs) via forsaken-ro.net/cp ... can vote for multiple accounts one at a time right after another is allowed - To CLAIM vote items ... make sure u got sufficient vote points then on the left panel choose PURCHASE > choose item ADD TO CART > On top choose CHECK OUT > CONFIRM PURCHASE .... then you can claim it in-game via NPC (@warp for_bar 247 300) - Probably need 250 vote points to get vote set w/ shield TIP : Color of Vote Valkyrie Helm can be changed in-game through NPC @warp for_elite 67 102 make sure decard LINK : https://forsaken-ro.net/cp/ ❉ Legendary Aura Quest (mid headgear) ❉ - Mid headgear that gives +20 all stats but with the latest update , it gives additional stats normally half of what Donate Aura got - Donate aura of course is more powerful - has +20 all stats + additional cool effects like +mhp, +resistance, +atk/matk, +reflect etc ... *NOTE : Some Aura like Emperium Aura can only be obtained via Events (GvG,BR) or Castle drop (WoE) LINK : ✦ Zodiac Aura New Stats : All Stats +20 , Physical damage +3%, MATK +3%, Vit def -5%, Max HP +3% ✦ Mythical Flame Aura New Stats : All stats +20,Max HP + 3%, Add a 5% resistance against Water, Fire, Wind and Earth properties, Reduce damage taken from Neutral property by 3%. Now the next step to do would be is first to complete all your MVP cards that you need ... Second would be is to reach out to the next level which is end-game contents (donate items - upgraded gears etc) ... Here are a few ways to earn money in-game : ✦ Zenny Farming - you can hunt stone of sage (@ali 12040 - tha_t10) / treasure box (@ali 7444 - abyss_03) then sell it to NPC ... best job for farming would be wiz/sniper - can use merchant (overprice skill) to earn more zenny when selling to NPC - normal market price of zenny : ftokens at the moment is 500m zenny = 40 ftoks ... 1b : 80 toks ~~~ BONUS TIP ~~~ ~~~ o ~~~ credits to : @Yog ✦ Mvp Hunting - hunt Mvps in their respective maps for a chance to get cards and sell it to players to tokens ... like Kiel sells for 40 toks and the rare ones like Sinx card & High wiz card sells for 100+ toks each - take note that during weekdays : 10% drop rate ... floating rates during weekends : 20% drop rate (doubled) - you can also sell some Mvp/boss drops that are very useful and in-demand for some quest ... like Essence of Fire (detale) sells for 200+ toks ... then some not so rare loot 5~10 toks ea - we also have customed Mvp cards [https://forsaken-ro.net/forum/wiki/customs/cards/custom-mob-dropped-cards-r146/] and mini boss cards thats sells pretty good like GR , Deviling etc ... - if your having trouble finding Mvps the normal way We also have a Mvp Room that charges 60m per summon though you can only summon specific mvps like Kiel, TG, FBH - we also go a Thana Room, the only place that spawns thana that opens every 2 hrs ... game system will announces before it opens & when it opens ... NPC location : @warp for_bar 168 218 ✦ Farming Service - getting hired by other players to farm materials (loots) for them and get paid with tokens - when farming normal loots ... rate is for every 1k pcs = 15~20 toks ... hard/rare/few mob loots are usually 1k : 30~50 toks - can farm mini boss drops (needed for quest) sells for 3~5 toks per piece such as Chills of Death, Cloud Essence etc ... - mini bosses usually spawns every hr feel free check [http://ratemyserver.net/] and compare ✦ Ticket Farming - we have a ticket system in fRO from which 1 ticket = 100 pcs of an item (usually supplies) ... you can have them exchange via Ticket Manager @warp fcity 86 149 - common supplies are Yggdrasil Seed/Berry, Concentrated speed pots, Curse Water, Full Chemical Potion, Enchant Deadly Poison, Aloevera etc ... - selling rate varies depending on market demand ... Ex : 5 ygg seed tix = 1 forsaken token - you can also rent "ticket pass" with tokens ... that will give you a ticket that will last 1~6 hrs that will take u into a custom map where u can farm specific supplies exclusively - rental ticket npc for "ticket pass" is located @warp for_bar 247 309 TIP : Click the rental ticket to warp randomly in the map for faster farming (fly wing effect) - there is also a yggdrasil berry room accessible via quest to farm unli ygg berry (not rental) ✦ Raid Service - some players hire raiders to help out in raids (side quest for storyline quests) and get paid with tokens - usual job classes needed are snipers/bio depending on what raid its gonna be - only for semi-geared players with experience/willing to learn since it got 1 hr time limit - there are different raids in the server ... some drops card , some drops quest items, and some dont - game system will always announce whenever a raid is open TIP : Best card set for Raiders are Forsaken Raider + Ghostring on armor ... Golden thief bug on shield ... 2 Deviling on cloak ... 1 Hyzoloist on acce (mobs inside raid have high hp ... this will help kill it quick ✦ Forbidden Rune - are customed runes that gives extra stats + mhp placed on accessories (substitute for cards) - sells for 160~180 tokens per set (2 pcs) ... repeatable quest - suitable for semi-geared players *NOTE : For first time makers ... u need to do the quest IN SEQUENCE till u reach the step for the stats you want ... when repeating u only need to do the step for making the rune itself no need to repeat from step1 Ex 1 : I want to make Str runes and first time doing quest ... i need to do Step 1 > Step 3c Ex 2 : I want to make Str runes again but did the quest already once ... i just need to do Step 3c LINK : ****************************** GO BEYOND PLUS ULTRAAAAAAAA - UNITED STATES SMASHHHHHHH ***************************** THATS MOSTLY ALL THE BASIC QUEST U NEED TO MATCH UP TO EVERYONE. Since basic gear is good enough to compete for MvP , PvP & Farming though for pvp if u wanna do more u prob need more end-game items. On that note I'll also share a few guides toward end-game contents which is mainly Storyline quest thats a bit harder and requires more time. *NOTE : This is for players who was able to explore enough on the server and is already semi-geared ❉ Friggs Shield Quest ❉ - Best Shield in the game that gives [1] slot +10% mhp , Str+ 5 , Vit+ 5 , Vit Def - 10% ... reduce damage taken from Demi-humans by 25% reflect 7% etc ... LINK : ❉ Upgrading Ring/Cape (lower headgear) quest ❉ - this probably one of the confusing part for majority in the game ... a short explanation would be is that ring/capes are the best lower headgear customed that gives additional damage + stats differently for every job ... - there are 3 types of rings namely Blessed/Cursed/Guardian rings from which each gives a different effect that boost for a different skill for each job - remember for every each type of ring ... it consist of diff variants that make it look different but has the same effect like the rest (ribbon, sword, ring, wings etc ...) - take note that there is a non-donate (quest material) & donate version (tokenshop material) where as ND rings are usually 30% less powerful than Donate rings Ex: Sniper Blessed - boost double strafe Cursed - boost focused arrow strike Guardian - boost blitz & traps *NOTE : ALL Quest regarding rings have a sidequest to clear specific Raids. Raids are technically dungeons that spawns monster by waves from which the ultimate goal is to kill all within 1 hr to clear the Raid Part I : Part II : ✦ Blessed ✦ Cursed ✦ Guardian To check different effects of diff rings check links BELOW : ✦ Blessed / Cursed Ring effects ✦ Guardian Ring effects ❉ Dragonist Armor ❉ - upgraded version of Forsaken King armor that works with F. king set bonus (not vote) ... gives more stats and enables skills for specific jobs such as Guard or Mild Mind etc ... - fueled by "fame" that can be obtained by killing other dragon knights or through specific raids such as black witch raid etc ... - to use skill & fame must enable dragon's fury (can be turned off) - NPC location : @warp turbo_room 99 94 - DA effects check link [https://forsaken-ro.net/forum/wiki/customs/items/dragonist-armor-effects-r150/] LINK : ❉ NEW ACCESSORY QUEST : CURSED ❉ - upgraded version of Donate Accessories (+40 stats [1] slot) - Wolf Fang Accessory +45 stats, MDEF +15 when combined together (pair) gives bonus stats Atk +10%, Matk +10% - New Accessory Effects check link [https://forsaken-ro.net/forum/wiki/customs/items/cursed-accecories-effects-vengeance-wolf-fang-r156/] LINK : ****************************** E N D ****************************** That's all from me for now hopefully this helps awoooooo NOOB / KING - Uncrowned Kings

  4. THIS GUIDE IS FOR BEGINNERS/NEWBIES ok? =) THAT'S WHY I'LL PUT CHEAP AND EASY-TO-GET ITEMS Okay first of, I never saw a guide about devotion pallies and ppl never explained them properly in the forums. So before i go off to college and not to get online much, i wanted to make a simple guide of the easiest job to gear up ^^ hope you guys like it and please add more input. I called it easiest to gear up, because after i got hacked and lost everything, I worked for a mere 2 days and got geared up ready for woe again xD What is Devotion? -Devotion is a skill that pallies use to support party members. Devotion is a skill that will protect party members by taking the full damage that they are receiving. They must be in range to benefit from this skill, once they leave the skill is canceled and needs to be recasted. -Now most people look for pallies that have friggs/vitbelts/expensive gears, but they don't know that a pally having just a king shield, king set and vitgaunts is more than enough. You see, The damage taken by the pally is based on the DEF of the person who gets hit, not the Pally that takes the hit. Still, being a geared paladin isn't bad. You get to impress lots of people XD Now back to the topic. -If the caster has any self casted, class buffs on him, like Guard/Shield Reflect, the party member being Devoed will share those buffs too. So you better make sure that the person you assist has good gears and his/her HP doesn't drop like an atom bomb quickly. If you devoed someone who isn't geared, then you just wasted your seeds. What do I do when I'm in WoE/GvG? -Of course, you Devo your party members. Also, you need to bring atleast 300 seeds. Why seeds? Seeds are lighter and i can carry 400 seeds, if i carried berries, i could just carry like 100. So better you use seeds. And of course you need to watch for your HP when you devo someone, make your HP drop and you failed to protect your party member. What are the stats of a pally? With the help of Aushrim, he gave a good pally stat ^^ cuz it's actually pretty obvious and easy xD Vit 270~290 - I'd really prefer 280, so as not to waste stats. And a pally needs to have lots of HP cuz you know, you are like a punching bag. An awesome punching bag ^^ hey not all players can tank like you xD (if you're a pally) Dex total of 150 - When guides and people say,"total of 150," it doesn't mean 150+87.. nop...(I'm speaking to new players here) Instead, 136+14=150.. for no cast when you cast devo. Str the remaining stats - yep, put aaaaaall of the remaining stats in this. Chunk it all on str xD you'll need str for holdin seeds :3 Agi 1 - you don't need no agi xD you're a support. So no attacking for you :3 well, a Sacrifice/Martyr's pally attacks, but I'm still experimenting on it ^^ I'll post a guide about Sacri Pally if I can make one, or if somebody knows Sacri Build please do post ^^ Int 1 - well, Devo takes up little SP so no need for int. Luk 1 - pfft. Wanna win a lottery?? xD joke. no need for Luk ^^ Gears and Cards Now please don't hate on me if i might be wrong in one thing xD I've seen people get trashtalked just because they spelled on word wrong xD BTW, these are my gears, so if there is anything wrong, holler xD And the gears I'm going to show are cheap to help newbies of course ^^ Also, this is just a guide ^^ you can experiment with other cards and other stats ^^ Headgear Helm: Any helm will do. - 2x Gemini, if you don't have fsold, then put 2x Orc Hero here. Aura: Any +20 all stats aura will do. - fsold/1 Orc Hero(if you're using 2x Gemini) Lower Headgear: Any +8/+10 RS | Fluffy Wings/L.Sacred Gold Wings. - Maya Purple. So you'll know if a stalker/SinX is coming, and won't be like,"OMG!! WTF!!" if you couldn't see them xD Armor Well, I carry 2 armors. Since I have high vit, i won't be needing 2TGK, but if yo would like 2TGK, it's up to you ^^ TGK+GR: For anti-champ. Most champs 4 hit asura me before I die, but the pro and geared ones just 2 asura me xD TGK+RSX: Hmm.. i don't really use this much xD cuz someone always FCP me before i get into action xD just stays in my inventory xD GR+RSX: Not really recommended for newbies. If you aren't sure about having 320k HP ... then go xD i ain't your boss. Weapon Legendary Paladin Spear: (or in DropDeadHandsome's case, Pike[4] xD he devo good with that xD) - put 4x Fabre cards. 4x Fabre cards give like extra 10k HP. So yea, it's a good card. - or 4x metaling cards or any other strip cards you can think of. Shield Me, I carry about 2 shields. 1 with GTB and one with Usakoring card. Cloak 2 Cloaks: One with raydric+raydric and skoll+skoll for anti-thana ofcourse. if you want to carry an extra cloak with raydric+skoll, you can too. Boots There's a lot of options here. But the cheapest is 2 Green Ferus cards. But I use GEC+Amon Ra card. Most attacks just miss xD or you can GEC+GEC. Up to you. I use GEC+Amon and get maybe 460k HP, even if my HP is pretty low, most attacks miss because of the auto guard that Amon Ra casts. and i like seeing players trying to hit me even if their attacks miss most of the time xD Accessory VitGaunts will do just fine. If you can afford Vit Belts, buy it xD and sell your VitGaunts xD Basic tips to know as a pally: You are a seed spammer. You spam seeds and spam and spam and spam. Do NOT be afraid to spam your seeds. When you get stripped, cast Battle Chant, it cancels all of your buffs and also cancels status ailments such as strip, blind, slow, etc. Battle Chant also debuffs enemy breakers (if the castle isn't yours yet) and make their damage less thus helping the breaker you are devoing break. Also, if breakers are coming, always remember to cast Battle Chant on the Emperium so that the enemy breaker's damage to the emp will be 0. (Ty to EL for bringing it up ^^) Use speeds. The first person you should worry about are Breakers. You are their knight in shining armor so better catch up to them xD You are awesome in being a pally. Just because pallies can't kill, doesn't mean you aren't awesome. Pallies are one of the most important jobs in WoE. Your Battle Chant doubles your party member's attack damage and your Provoke skill cancels ecalls. Have fun ^^ TY for having the time to read my guide ^^ if you have anything to add, please do add and i'll edit my guide ^^ Have fun in fRO ^^ Thanks to: -El -Carlo -James -Vicky ^^ -to Apil Juice for being kind to me when i was a newbie. -to KAOS for being like a family to me before (now they disbanded). -to RTF for taking me back after being gone for a long time (now disbanded) ^_^ -to Vengeance for still keeping me even if i'm not that active anymore -to my buddy Soo Woo :D and the guys in KAOS who are still active and still playing in fRO (only in different guilds) God Bless ya'll Happy Gaming ^^

  6. Hey everyone on the staff team, let's start off with a bit about me: I'm a former game dev, now full-time dad :D, having worked on titles such as Guild Wars and Auto Assault back in the day, as well as more recently having done quite a bit of consulting work for mobile or free2play game industry in Vancouver (which is where I live!), as well as a boring Unity Developer (in C#). This post is in no way emphasizing the prioritization of revenue or monetization; it is merely a resource that can help provide ideas that allow players who want to support the server feel good about any amount they wish to donate, and donate as much as they want. ===== Before I get started on infodumps, I'd like to mention that even with decades of popularity, Forsaken RO's structure and shares many aspect things with freemium and mobile games, even if the gameplay is massively different, with salient similarities being: 1. A majority of the revenue comes from a tiny portion (<1%) of the population. 2. Most whales don't know or think they're whales. Regardless of if they spend 50, 500, or 50000 dollars a month. 3. For the ones who do spend, it is very likely they will spend again if given an opportunity and a bit of motivation. With the basic stuff out of the way, here are some basic strategies that I propose you guys start implementing (if you're not already doing so): 1. In addition to regularly releasing and cycling stuff (MTG came up with the set cycle system that many other TCG's copied) which I think is already being done, find ways of educating players on what custom items are available, have their publicly visible stats be accurate and up-to-date... and even putting in rental gear (vote points, or tokens/donation only) for rings or gear that cannot be re-rented for a long time -- so they have to "buy it and quest it" if they like it or if they don't, then no harm done because they only had it for a few hours. That way people can actually test in a somewhat live scenario and see if they like it or not. If implemented correctly, the pros outweigh the cons. More Raids like the Halloween one, but much much more difficult (read: NOT boring *cough faceworm*) will keep people interested. You know, actual tactically or strategically challenging end-game non-pvp content. 2. Maybe (subtly) start on implementing more RNG (loot box/gachapon) system here and here -- there's a reason why League switched to it after years and years and even despite "protest" and Hearthstone and Overwatch kills with it (Just look at Blizzard quarterly revenues pre-Overwatch and post, subtracting the revenue from unit sales). I think FW Raid with the 50% Gjallar drop and the 400 H-token Trick or Treat Box is a good start, but there are many, many ways to do this (and have it greatly augment revenue) 3. Putting in more ways for donation coupons (tokens) to be "used up" thus increasing their value and fighting premium currency inflation. Currently I only know of the Seed/Speed rooms and the F.King Gear room. I can think of at least half a dozen non-intrusive ways to "tax" people in exchange for providing efficiencies, conveniences, or customization's. As to how and the various theories and methods of design and implementation, I won't go too far into detail with this post but I can mention two of the basic fundamentals that help to provide opportunity and motivation: 1. Understanding the three types of spend-happiness and wallet-openation in a game like Forsaken RO A) the Collector (aka The Headgear Collector) -- I liked how you guys have new premium-only headgear every month, aand you can add on to limited time HG like, for example, the (new) unique Halloween ones that came out just over a month ago, how about making some of it "can only be purchased once per account only" and then to make a set (upper, mid, lower) they need the help of other people, probably other Collectors, which increases their time and social investment into the game and makes them more likely to donate more frequently and for higher amounts in the future. B) the Competit0r (aka The PvP Junkie) -- You could, though it would be quite blunt and overt, make the next Custom MVP Card (Thana/Bijou tier) drop with from a new item, "Old Black Box" that you get from an NPC in exchange for <insert new Castle Drop here> + 100 tokens. Or just have something like TheNextBlackwitch cost tokens (and pseudo-tokens, such as items like Imp Boxes) to enter. It is very important that PVP is balanced, so that potential donators believe that their donations will give them an edge. That means PVP should not be insurmountable or off-putting after one to four weeks* of playing--which it "usually" is, currently; you guys should increase the relative power of ANY new player who has played 2-4 weeks--not grinded--just played; the vote reward system is a VERY solid foundation on this but you guys should create an integrated in-game, custom quasi-tutorial for this server that does away with the questionable nature of the requisite 1k Chivalry Emblems and (oh god) the boredom of making a Legendary Weapon. Just give it to them after they've shown interest and competence; say after they've won some "arena" matches -- a pvp event with fixed, pre-set gears and the prize is legendary gears (account bound) so old players won't camp it to crush new players. Have I mentioned plenty of people don't even log in to the CP once after account creation? This will spike player retention of those in this category immensely. Other than balance and progression in the sense that the various play "styles" are all represented -- i.e. if only killers are competitive then you've failed to capture the market that includes Competit0rs who prefer to play Support, stealth, etc. That's why MMORPG's have different classes. Making the items balanced (you can, occasionally do some "FOTM" stuff like Ninja Blessed and Mastersmith Cursed Ring, but those ideally should have other purposes as well, to test new metas or waters, so as to tag multiple birds with one very heavy and costly stone) C) the Aesthetician (aka The Cool/Cute Char Maker) -- Similar to the first, but this allows you to go deeper into monetizing appearance like, how about the next batch of clothing dye (unique) costs tokens donations to unlock? Some people really like a certain look and will pay any price to get it. Rainbow EMP is good, various rarity EMP's are good, but there's ways you can tie donations into it. Like having an NPC that offers to change the colour of your Ship Captain Hat for 10(green), 100(red), or 100(black) tokens? Ever try to make an item like Sunday Hat in vanilla RO? It had all the hallmarks of a (90s) good headgear quest: Rare and arguably useful/valuable equipment needed (the slot hats), a few easy items (fabrics), and a deceptively difficult to acquire, grueling item (soft feathers). The end result? A truly rare HG even when avrg. monthly users exceeded 100,000 in iRO. 2. Timing; As I mentioned earlier* this is simply put, aiming for new players to "not quit" for at least 3-4 weeks after they've joined fRO--that's the critical "dating" phase--of course it's not like you're kicking them out of the server after a month (like some Subscription With Free Trial games do) because fRO, like any other MMO, benefits from a large active population. But that doesn't mean you can't try to streamline content (I can't stress this enough how you guys need to rework the "first impression" and "knee deep" experiences that causes tons of quitting) and get them exposed and invested and caring about as many of the above three aspects as you can in the first month, then if they think you've made a good gam--server, quite a few people would be willing to fork out even dolphin amounts, if not outright going whales-deep. That's the rationale behind otherwise questionable "starter packs" and "first time tokenshop gifts" that many, many games have -- make it One-Time-Only and make the discount steep for account-bound donation items. The first time a player spends money is the hardest. As you know from your experience, repeat customers are not at all uncommon -- they just need a reason and they will give you their money! Are you gonna give them one? ...and why stop at one? Thanks for your time. As you guys can tell, I'm a fan of lists! Dakka P.S. Feel free to message me on forums for any development questions, planning strategies, balance consultation, or even Unity questions(zzz), all pro bono of course to any fRO player :D P.P.S. Particularly applicable for fRO: hire competent staff (slow), fire incompetent ones (fast). Hire or train people whose sole job will be to screen potential people-for-hire.
  7. *. Update Notes I. Introduction II. Equipment III. Stats IV. Skills V. Notes *. Update Notes Added High Orc card as a Shield section card recommendation. Emphasized the LHZ Aura (and all auras with similar effects) effectiveness in boosting more HP than Emperium Auroras. Had a little change in the 2x Raydrics description section. Yes it's pretty much for all around use but only against neutral property attacks. Fixed various typos. Added Mini Strello's nice tip in the Notes section. And added a couple more final notes in the Notes section. Various changes. I. Introduction The Paladin (a.k.a. Pally) build I'm about to share with you is the one build you make to go into the front lines and gladly welcome a truckload of punishment. The epitome of defense, this Paladin can have an HP pool so high that it can never be compared to other classes, while taking advantage at the same time an array of skills that center on keeping the Paladin well fortified at all times. I've been a Paladin player for about almost a year and along the way, I've learned and experienced most of the things to know and keep in mind when manning a Pally. This guide is made for the Defense-is-the-best-offense Paladin, and not the STR type, all-out-attack Paladin. II. Equipment Top Headgear Basics Forsaken Knight Helm, Vote Valkyrie Helm, Valkyrie Helm, Valkyrie Expansion HatEarly choices. Goal Halloween Headgear [Evil Marcher Hat, Midas Whisper, Minstrel Song Hat, Magic Stone Hat, Skull Cap, Skull Hood]These further boost your Paladin's HP pool by 15%. 2 slots. Middle Headgear Basics Legendary Auroras, Vote Fallen GhostQuesting for the Legendary Auras is worth the time (they have a variety of styles and designs too, so you pick your poison). Voting for 50 credits and purchasing the Fallen Ghost is worth the time. These Middle Headgears give +20 stats and 1 free slot. Goal LHZ Aurora, Rune of Power, Lovely Ribbon, Mythical Flame, Skull Aurora; or if your budget can handle it, Emperium Auras (All stats +25, Max HP + 5%, Increase damage to Demi-Humans by 4%). - For this build we actually need the one which gives us more HP. So in my opinion, it's best to stick with the LHZ Auroras and the ones with effects alike. Save your Emperium Auroras for another type of Paladin, or better yet, another class, I guess.* LHZ / Rune of Power / Lovely Ribbon Aurora - Increase damage on demihumans by 10%, Max HP + 8% All stats + 20, 1 slot ** Mythical Flame Aurora - Max HP + 3%, All Stats + 20, Reflect 4% of all Physical Melee Damage, Reduce damage taken from Neutral property by 7%, Add a 10% resistance against Water, Fire, Wind, and Earth properties. 1 slot *** Skull Aurora - All stats + 20, Reduce damage taken from Holy, Poison, Shadow, and Ghost properties by 10%, Reduce damage taken from Neutral property by 7%. Reflect 4% of physical damage taken. 1 slot Lower Headgear Basics Start off with the Freebie Adventurer's Backpack (All stats + 10, Max HP + 10%, Max SP + 10%), then work your way to getting either the Legendary Balloons (All stats + 10%, Max HP + 7%, 1 slot) and/or voting for the Vote Infernal Paladin Cape (Walking speed + 10% Reduce damage taken from Demihumans by 5% Attack + 10%, Reflect + 7%, Str + 10, Vit + 10, 1 slot) in the Control Panel.Goal Paladin Ring of the Divine (Walking Speed + 15%, Reduce damage taken from demi-humans by 5%, Reduce VIT def by 10%, HP + 20%, SP + 5%, VIT + 35, Reflect + 15%, 1 slot)Headgear Cards: Orc Hero Maya Purple Forsaken Soldier Your best bets for your headies are Orc Hero cards for the +3 VIT extra. Compound 2 Orc Hero cards into your chosen Top Headgear. Another Orc Hero (for more HP) and/or Maya Purple (for True Sight) for the Middle or Lower Headgear slots. Forsaken Soldier card is optional but is very useful. You are very vulnerable when stoned. Use Gemini cards as substitute if you're on a tight budget. Armor Basics Forsaken Knight Armor, Vote Forsaken King ArmorGoal Forsaken King ArmorCards: Ghostring/Tao Gunka - Serves as my default. Ghostring/RSX - If you're not FCPd and you don't want your armors breaking and to prevent people from pushing you around. Ghostring/Orc Lord - For melee reflecting purposes. I'm not a fan of a Pally killing a Champ from reflect but dies at the same time because his reduction is not enough to spare him a few HP to live. What I do instead is switch to a non-Usakoring shield [GTB?] if the Champ is able to tank the punishment you currently offer using this armor. Cloak Basics Forsaken Knight Cloak, Vote Forsaken King CloakGoal Forsaken King Cloak, +10 Valkyrian ManteauCards: 2x Skoll - Serves as my default; completely shuts down Memory of Thanatos card bonus damage to characters with High VIT Defense while also increasing your Maximum HP pool by a total of 12%. 2x Deviling - Occasionally used to shrug off most of the Neutral element skill damage like Asura Strike (that is if you are kind enough to not just kill them with reflect) , Acid Demonstration (Acid Bomb) , etc. 2x Raydric - Serves as the all-around-cloak-of-NEUTRAL-damage-reduction in PVP but also invites almost instant death against Thanatos card users, but as you know, when it comes to melee-with-thana opponents, you should welcome the damage because you'll just be giving it right back. *Put either a Deviling or Skoll or Raydric in the +10 Valkyrian Manteau. This cloak enhances reflect but leaves you vulnerable to freezing (you need to have a complete King/Knight set to be immune to Freeze). Shoes Basics Forsaken Knight Boots, Vote Forsaken King BootsGoal Forsaken King BootsCards: Dragoon Wizard/General Egnigem Cenia - Serves as my default. Annoying. 10% chance of Auto Level 10 Kyrie Eleison + a total of 15% Max HP and SP 2x Am Mut - This one is for reflect damage boost against the melee types according to Él Cholo. "The more damage you receive, the more reflect damage you give". Weapon Basics Legendary Paladin Spear [4]Goal Odin's Avenger [4]Cards: Fabre x4 Metaling, Dragoon Warlord, Valkyrie Randgris, Lord of the Dead - Best stripper. Use it for the effects of the cards and not for damage. Strip, Dispell, and Coma (or the various other debuffs) ... if it ever works. Shield Basics Forsaken Knight Shield, Vote Forsaken King ShieldGoal Frigg's King ShieldCards: Usakoring - Serves as my default. Golden Thief Bug - Serves as secondary default for some reason. Maya - If we prefer of course to reflect single target magical damage too. And according to Misdemeanor, you can try putting this one in the "Orleans' Server" shield, which I agreed that it is a fairly legal, basic strat. High Orc - For what it's worth, this card adds another 5% physical damage reflect back to the enemy that inflicted it. Since we're all for reflect on this one then we might as well add this. Accessory Basics 2x Legendary VIT Gauntlets, 2x Forsaken VIT BeltsGoal 2x Asgard's Essence [1 slot] (with a VIT Rune)Cards: No cards to recommend. Stick with the VIT Runes.*As an addition to your goals, make sure to get 2 or more of each Forsaken King set piece (and even extra Top Headgears to easily switch from 2x Orc Hero to 2x Kiel and vice versa) to accommodate all cards I've listed and use them as your "switching gears" to adjust according to your current situation. III. Stats STR: I have no other recommendations as to how many you should put here because mine sits at 165 base STR. If you opted not to use the 300 VIT build, then you can put a little more in here for the sake of ATK damage and carrying a little bit more seeds. I can carry around 420 seeds on 165 base STR. AGI: Leftover stats. I'm currently at 61+53 AGI and my ASPD is 178 unbuffed. Its peak is 190 while buffed with Concentration Potion, Awakening Potion, Berserk Potion, Increase AGI, Blessing, and Spear Quicken. VIT: 280 or 290 or 300 - I maxed mine out at 300. Advantage is more HP, Disadvantage is less stat points to make up for either STR to carry more seeds and higher ATK damage or for AGI to reach the 195 max ASPD. INT: 1 DEX: Total of 150 without the Blessing buff. No more, no less. This is mostly just to remove the casting for Devotion. My current DEX shows as 122+28 (assuming you have a complete gear) LUK: 1 IV. Skills Defense skills to always use: Battle Chant - If you're alone and not in a party to give mates the double attack damage bonus and many other benefits, use it to remove most nasty debuffs like being stripped or slowed. Endure - Anti-flinching. Guard - Your built in Kyrie Eleison skill. Shrink - Only useful while the Guard skill is active as it pushes enemies away from you by a certain chance of the Auto Guard procs. This is a Platinum Skill and you can get it from the Forsaken Kafra. Shield Reflect - Reflects melee damage only! Defending Aura - Best counter second to Pneuma against ranged assaults regardless whether it's skill or physical long-ranged damage. Supportive Skills: Devotion - Become a full time masochist and save up to 5 mates in your party from taking up too much damage. We welcome damage, we don't reject it. Spear Quicken - For ASPD. Useful for Martyr's Reckoning and/or while in a stripper spear. Berserk - Barely matters sometimes but we need all the help we can get. Applies LVL10 Provoke on you once your HP goes below 25%. Could be useful for a sudden, hopefully-not-your-final burst of damage. Provoke - The middle finger for Ecallers in WoE. Offensive Skills: Martyr's Reckoning - Higher HP + Card bonuses + it ignores defense (as if it really matters) = 1 hell of a punishment. Magnum Break - Half Supportive, Half Offensive skill. Boosts damage blah blah to this and to that and it helps nudge people out of hiding. Gloria Domini - I find this gem-of-a-skill interesting as it can instantly flush 40% of an opponents SP down the drain while dealing a pure but puny 2000 damage. V. Notes The secret of being a great Paladin is to make your mates rely and trust their lives on to you. Seriously. Make them worry about how to kill the opponents as fast and as effectively as possible and not about if they will survive the firefight. They're the swords and you are the shield. You take care of survival while they go full nuts and put everything they have on attack. Waste your seeds, don't get overwhelmed by all the damage you might take. Keep your Defensive Skills active. Don't get caught off guard. Pun intended. Keep all the upgradeable gear on +0. Your awesome defensive buffs can not be dispelled as long as you have your GTB shield on. Watch out for Clowns and Gypsies as they can dispel your buffs (and even break your equipment) with the simple use of Tarot Cards of Fate even on GTB. Creds to Mini Strello for this. Always keep your @storage on one of your hotkeys to conveniently grab more seeds when you go low. By the time of this update, I have already completed the STR Paladin guide so you might wanna check out how that one works and differs from here. ***** Acknowledgements ***** - Él Cholo "Bloody Bill Anderson" for introducing the Paladin class to me and helping me understand and build it up. - Lu and a bunch of all her chars as punching bag to test how hard i hit and for some helpful tips against other classes. - And of course, the rest of my mates in Rubicon, the "just for the LOLs", fashion, and chatty-chat-chat guild (now on Facebunk and Skarpe too!). - This guide could be updated in the future.
  8. No, this isn't a token giveaway thread. shoo Good morning/afternoon/evening, newbie or veteran of ForsakenRO! :) This is a semi-comprehensive guide about tokens: what you need to know about it, how to get these specific tokens, and many more. I'll try to cover the necessary things about the matter. If I have forgotten anything, tell me by replying and I'll credit you. :) Also, this is my very first guide for the server, so forgive me if I have committed a mistake on some areas (if I did.) What are Tokens? Tokens are considered to be the primary currency of the server (Zeny is next) when it comes to the market. There are many variations of tokens, which will be discussed as thorough as possible in a later section below. Why Tokens? I myself am not sure why, but these are some possibilities: Because of the zeny limit (1b) and the server being high-rate in general To make the trading market easier when dealing To make the economy organized Variety in usage/purpose and rewarding Uniqueness. :3 What are the kinds of Tokens available? wall of text intensifies At present, there are 9 types of Tokens. All without ever leaving the shadows [This guide is a pLok guide which means it is based on my experience and the gears that I have xD I also kept it as simple and straightforward as I can] GEARS+CARDS (Critical Build) Headgears Upper +10 Vote Valkyrie Helm/Valkyrie Helm/Valkyrie Expansion Hats w/ 2x Amadarias Cards / 2x Bijou Cards / 2x Seyren Windsor Cards (I highly recommend that you refine your headgear to +10 and compound it with 2 Amadarias cards to get +10 str and +10atk) Get 2x seyren windsor if you can't afford Ama and Bijou (Gives +8 str) Middle Any aurora that gives +20 stats/Skull Aura, ROP, Emperium Aurora, Legendary LHZ Aurora, Legendary Zodiac Aurora (Any that would suit you, but I prefer Emperium Auroras) w/ Vanberk Card (Vanberk Card adds 2 to Str and gives you a 100 Critical rate boost for 5 seconds) Lower SinX Blessed Ring/SinX Infernal Cape/Vote Scarf/Any Rucksack (Refine to +10, up to you) (Aim for the Blessed Ring) w/ Vanberk Card (or LK Card for Berserk, this is optional) Use Amadarius when refined Due to the boost in the Emperium's HP, I don't recommend using the LK card. You'll just DIE. XD Unless of course you have a REALLY good pally and/or there's no defense around :) Still, I wouldn't use it but your call Armors 2x +0 Sinx Dragonist Armor/ Vote Forsaken King Armor/Forsaken King Armor/Forsaken Knight Armor (I highly recommend the King Armor, Vote or not doesn't matter) (Dragonist Armor if you can get it 110%) w/ Tao Gunka + Ghost Ring and w/ 2x Gloom Under Night (two armors for the purpose of switching, Switch to 2x gloom if the defense around the emperium is light, and when there are no champs defending the emperium) Cloak +0 Vote Forsaken King Cloak/Forsaken King Cloak/Forsaken Knight Cloak (I highly recommend the King Armor, Vote or not doesn't matter) w/ Raydric+Skoll, 2x Raydric, 2x Skoll (2x Skoll against Thana Users, 2x Raydric against Neutral Property Attacks e.g. Asura, Raydric+Skoll is a popular combo in the server which is what I use as default) Boots +0 Vote Forsaken King Boots/Forsaken King Boots/Forsaken Knight Boots (I highly recommend the King Armor, Vote or not doesn't matter) w/ 2x Fallen Bishop Card (FBH gives an increase of 50% damage to Angel Monsters, Angel is the race of the Emperium) Accessories 2x Loki's Seal/2x Strength Belts/2x Strength Gauntlets (I highly recommend Loki's Seals and compound them with Ifrit Cards) 2 Ifrit Cards easily gives you additional 51 Critical and Hit Rate Shield +0 Frigg's Shield/Forsaken King Shield/Vote Forsaken King Shield (I highly recommend the Frigg's Shield it is obtainable through Quest) w/ Usakoring Card/Golden Thief Bug (Optional) (If you want GTB, I recommend you to put it in an extra shield for switching purposes only; I only have one shield w/ Usakoring on) Weapons In this section, I will just put the combination of cards that I felt comfortable with. Feel free to use your own combination of cards. Main Hand(Right Hand) +10 SinX Critical Oriental Sword/Legendary SinX Critical Sword (I would recommend the Oriental Sword) w/ 2 Turtle General, Paper and Orc Skel or up to you as long as you put 2TG on the main hand Off-Hand(Left Hand) +10 Fenrir's Dagger/Legendary Fenrir's Dagger (I would use the Legendary Dagger, why? To balance the strength stat when switching between the shield and weapon, but that's just me xD) w/ 2 Abysmal Knight Cards, Paper, Desert Wolf, STATS (Critical Build) (Add Luk then Agi, next is Str then Vit Last) STR (Main Stat): 280 - 300 (Whatever floats your boat) Base + Bonus = Divisible by 10 (Meaning you get a whole number if you divide it by 10) (What is a whole number? Whole numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4.....125, 126.....9,958 and so on) e.g. 296(Base) + 184(Bonus) = 480 (480 divided by 10 = 48, 48 is a whole number) AGI: Until ASPD is 195 LUK: Until you have 100 Critical (I heard rumors of having 104 Critical rate is better, but I just keep mine to 100) VIT: Put the rest of your points here Dex/Int: 1 (Feel free to put some here if there are still points left after Vit, would recommend dex) GEARS+CARDS (Thana/Dex Build) (If you don't have thana, better stick with the critical build) Or read this too http://www.forsaken-ro.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=24168&page=1 [Ok, this build I am not very familiar with, but I'll try my best, been a thana breaker for a couple of weeks now.] Headgears Upper +10 Vote Valkyrie Helm/Valkyrie Helm/Valkyrie Expansion Hats w/ 2x Amadarias Cards / 2x Bijou Cards / 2x Seyren Windsor Cards (I highly recommend that you refine your headgear to +10 and compound it with 2 Amadarias cards to get +10 str and +10atk) Get 2x seyren windsor if you can't afford Ama and Bijou (Gives +8 str) Or +10 Halloween headgear (Optional) w/ 2x Seyren Windsor Cards / 2x Amadarius (STR+ 15 DEX+15) In comparison to the Valkyrie Helm Stats, It does not add any stats to Luk, which is what you want because this is a thana build. Middle Any aurora that gives +20 stats/Skull Aura, ROP, Emperium Aurora, Legendary LHZ Aurora, Legendary Zodiac Aurora (Any that would suit you, but I prefer Emperium Auroras) w/ Forsaken Soldier Card Lower SinX Blessed Ring/SinX Infernal Cape/Vote Scarf/Any Rucksack (Refine to +10, up to you) (Aim for the Cursed Ring) Use Amadarius / Bijou Other Options (Recommended): 2x Seyren on Upper, Gemini on Mid and Lower (Cheaper) Why? The effects of Forsaken Soldier and Maya Purple are useful during pvp (You wouldn't be really hitting anyone or anything but the Emperium), not for a dedicated Breaker. But if you have it, why not ;) Armors 2x +0 Sinx Dragonist Armor/ Vote Forsaken King Armor/Forsaken King Armor/Forsaken Knight Armor (I highly recommend the King Armor, Vote or not doesn't matter) (Dragonist Armor if you can get it 110%) w/ Tao Gunka + Ghost Ring and w/ 2x Gloom Under Night (two armors for the purpose of switching, Switch to 2x gloom if the defense around the emperium is light, and when there are no champs defending the emperium) Cloak +0 Vote Forsaken King Cloak/Forsaken King Cloak/Forsaken Knight Cloak (I highly recommend the King Armor, Vote or not doesn't matter) w/ Raydric+Skoll, 2x Raydric, 2x Skoll (2x Skoll against Thana Users, 2x Raydric against Neutral Property Attacks e.g. Asura, Raydric+Skoll is a popular combo in the server which is what I use as default) Boots +0 Vote Forsaken King Boots/Forsaken King Boots/Forsaken Knight Boots (I highly recommend the King Armor, Vote or not doesn't matter) w/ 2x Fallen Bishop Card (FBH gives an increase of 50% damage to Angel Monsters, Angel is the race of the Emperium) Accessories 2x Loki's Seal/2x Strength Belts/2x Strength Gauntlets (I highly recommend Loki's Seals and compound them with STR Runes) Shield +0 Frigg's Shield/Forsaken King Shield/Vote Forsaken King Shield (I highly recommend the Frigg's Shield it is obtainable through Quest) w/ Usakoring Card/Golden Thief Bug (Optional) (If you want GTB, I recommend you to put it in an extra shield for switching purposes only; I only have one shield w/ Usakoring on) Weapons In this section, I will just put the combination of cards that I felt comfortable with. Feel free to use your own combination of cards. Main Hand(Right Hand) +10 Hel's Unholy Dagger/Legendary Hel's Unholy Dagger/SinX Dex Oriental Sword/Loki Cursed Blade (I would recommend the Dagger, Why? Double Attack gives you more chance of hitting last and stronger damage) w/ Memory of Thanatos, 2x Abysmal Knight Cards, Orc Skeleton Off-Hand(Left Hand) +10 Hel's Unholy Dagger/Legendary Hel's Unholy Dagger (I would use the Legendary Dagger, why? To balance the strength stat when switching between the shield and weapon, but that's just me xD) w/ Turtle General, 2x Abysmal Knight, Desert Wolf or Turtle General, Abysmal Knight, 2x Desert Wolf STATS (Thana/Dex Build) (Add Agi, next is Str then Vit Last) STR (Main Stat): 280 - 300 (Whatever floats your boat) Base + Bonus = Divisible by 10 (Meaning you get a whole number if you divide it by 10) (What is a whole number? Whole numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4.....125, 126.....9,958 and so on) e.g. 296(Base) + 184(Bonus) = 480 (480 divided by 10 = 48, 48 is a whole number) AGI: Until ASPD is 195 LUK: 1 VIT: Put the rest of your points here Dex/Int: 1 or until you have 345 hit, entirely up to you. (Feel free to put some here if there are still points left after Vit, would recommend dex) Now about the Emperium: HP: I have no Idea but I can tell it's a butt load! It has been altered way higher in this server once since I joined. It was to prevent 30 second breaks during WOE. Race: Angel Property: Holy Size: Small Boss Type Immunity to Skills (Critical Build) There are just the same cards for critical sinx used in breaking that would help increase your damage against the emperium: Turtle General Card (Increase damage on ALL enemies by 20%) The Paper Card (Inflict 20% more damage with Critical Attacks) Abysmal Knight Card (Increase Damage on Boss Monster by 25%) Orc Skeleton Card (Increase Damage on Holy Property Enemies by 20%) Desert Wolf Card (Increase damage inflicted on small sized monster by 15%, ATK +5) (HINT: Not more than 4 Abysmal Knight Cards, not more that 1 Orc Skeleton Card) (This is due to card stacking effects which I couldn't be bothered to explain EVER xD) (Thana/Dex Build) Turtle General Card (Increase damage on ALL enemies by 20%) -> This is optional, if you wanna use it, just one and put it on the off-hand. This is because of the Magnum Break Effect which gives +5 Fire Attack. But again, that's just me. Memory of Thanatos Card (Deals more damage depending on the target's defense) Abysmal Knight Card (Increase Damage on Boss Monster by 25%) Orc Skeleton Card (Increase Damage on Holy Property Enemies by 20%) Desert Wolf Card (Increase damage inflicted on small sized monster by 15%, ATK +5) (HINT: Not more than 4 Abysmal Knight Cards, not more that 1 Orc Skeleton Card) (This is due to card stacking effects which I couldn't be bothered to explain EVER xD) (There, that explains why those are the cards used) Difference between the two builds This is Aerynth's explanation about this. It is a really good and simple explanation. Aerynth, on 24 Sept 2013 - 3:02 PM, said: Critical has a better damage consistency and you would have the ability to not only break but to deal damage to others as well during WoE, this means you could very well defend and break at the same time. The advantage of this build is that you can skimp on a lot of stats and add a lot more vitality that adds on to more health points, thus surviving longer. This build does not require any Dex as critical ignores the flee rate of all players. With all the new items and the valkyrie weapon for Assassin Cross and with the new addition of the Blessed Ring for Assassin Cross, you don't really need to add Luk at all. Thanatos build breaker is a different build all together, the damage is from average to high and it does not have a steady flow of damage consistency. However this build has the added advantage of the Double Attack skill that increases it's damage per second output, thus increasing your chance of breaking the Emperium, reason being the more damage per second you deal the higher the chances of you getting the last hit. You would also have to deal with having lesser health points compared to Critical build assassins and you would also not be able to hit other players as the usual build for a Thanatos build have only enough hit to hit the Emperium and not players with decent flee rate. With that being said, even without Thanatos card, you could still break with a Double Attack build so long as your damage that you are dealing to the Emperium is high enough to level with the other builds. It is very much possible, tested and proven. Hope this clears out to everybody about the differences between the two build, I would not help out on giving you a build as it's rather personal to me. What I can share with you is that most of the advise given on this thread are of somewhat relevant and of use. Good luck in breaking. Cheers. THE AK TALK Ok, as you can see I have included the AK (Abysmal Knight) cards in my build, Why? I'm one of the people who believes that the script of the emperium makes it a boss type nevertheless it shows on @mi or not. (Not arguing about this) So I tried to take out my AK cards and replaced it with other cards, Here's what I came up with: Main Hand: Thana, Desert Wolf, Orc Skel, TG Off Hand: VR (Rangdris Card), Desert wolf, Desert Wolf, TG (If you're not a fan of the Double TG, Then put more desert wolf, the cap on damage optimizer is around 80% not sure, but I know it wont go to a full 100%, so it stacks) Again, This is only my own opinion and preferences. Important Shinanigans Do not refine any of your equipment to +10 except for your headgear(Because of Seyren Windsor Cards) Or you will be munched up by thana users xD Use Enchant Deadly Poison Use Cursed Water Use Aloe Vera Use Steamed Tongue (If you have any) Switch Armors depending on the situation Switch to Dual Dagger depending on the Situation Use Poison React if you want Use Concentrated Speed Potions when you wanna rush SPAM SEEDS xD Other Shinanigans ANYONE CAN BREAK Legendary items are items that have 80% of the donate items' effects Vote King Set is as good as the Donated One, you just can't trade it. So vote, it's for the good of the server too! The purpose of this guide is to help other players and for me to learn from others so I'm open to criticisms and opinions, it would help this guide a lot. I am not the best out there, I consider myself decent, nothing special. I just created this guide due to the lack of info that is being shared about breaking in this server. I cannot guarantee that this would work 100%, breaking is also based on how lucky you are during WOE. This is just my own build and gears that I learned from different mentors. Hate me or whatever, I think guides help new players stay in the server as all servers are not the same. Guides helped me stay. I just want the server to grow, don't you want to have a more intense WOE competition? You scared of progress? Development? Don't be, it's not really a bad thing :D Thank You Thank you to all the friends I have made in this game :D Even if you don't like me anymore, I have no grudge against you xD Thank you to all the people that taught me so much in game and in the forums. I thank all the guilds that I have been a part of. (You wouldn't remember me coz I suck xD) Thank you to all that have been my mentors in game and for your patience. And lastly, The FRO staff, keep it up guys :D P.S. I included all the knowledge I have on breaking in this guide. So if you see something wrong, let me know as I do not know everything.
  10. It's been a year! Yay? I'll cut to the chase... I've been away for a long time and lost all my knowledge about the game Help a guy out to recover from sudden lost of brain cells in fRO By far the worst thing i did was sell Skel card for 100m and collected a bunch weapons to sell
  11. INTRODUCTION TO GUNSLINGER Gunslingers are flashy and confident New Age warriors that rely on a wide array of guns and powerful skills to deal as much damage as possible in a short amount of time to their enemies. Gunslingers are always looking for a chance to show off their talent. Bored with only target practice in smoggy Einbroch, gunslingers have decided to take up adventuring, like so many from the Rune-Midgarts Kingdom, in order to live a life of excitement and fame. (Source: iRO Wiki) There are 3 types of Gunslingers in the server: Cursed Gunslingers focuses on mid to close range combat using the skill Desperado dealing high multiple damage in an area. Blessed Gunslingers focuses on ranged attacks using the skill Full Buster dealing high single target bursts to a monster or player. Guardian Gunslingers focuses on the skill Tracking which has a lengthy cast time but deals powerful bursts of damage almost as strong as an asura, at the cost of low HP and vulnerability. Cursed Gunslinger Build (Desperado) -Lets start with Gears and Cards- Headgears: Upper: Any Expa HG, Vote Valk Helm, any Legendary HG, Ship Captains Hat w/ Kiel card and any of these:(Forsaken Soldier Card & Maya Purple Card) Mid: Any Legendary, Vote, Donate or Emperium aura/aurora w/ Kiel card Lower: Gunslinger Vote Cape/Cursed Ring/Drake Jacket/Lovely Ribbon/Slayer Scarf w/ Kiel card Weapons: Legendary Gunslinger Revolver/Vali's Destroyer w/(2x Turtle General, Samurai Spectre/Thanatos, Randgris) (Feel free to test your own card combo) Armors: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ Tao Gunka and Ghostring cards Cloaks: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ Raydric and Skoll cards and 2x Raydric cards for switching Boots: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ 2x Fallen Bishop Hibram cards Shields: Forsaken Knight/King, Vote King or Friggs King w/ Usakoring and a Golden Thief Bug for switching Accessories: 2x Dex Gaunts/Belts or Freyr's Gauntlets w/ Dex runes -Stats- STR: Put the rest here to carry seeds AGI: Until aspd is 195 VIT: Around more than 200k + HP INT: 1(You can add some if you think you eat too much seeds) DEX: 280-300 LUK: 1 (Note: Feel free to play and balance your stats between VIT and STR) -Tips & Application- During WoE, you'd want to be in a spot where its crowded like the Emperium area or Emp room entrance to spam Desperado GvG/BR or PVP in general tests your skills. So you'd want to practice fighting using Charge attack, since capes/rings have the skill as a bonus, to push them away from enemy pallies to Desperado away The skill Disarm is also advantageous if the enemy doesn't have FCP on them. Strip them of their weapon and finish them off Blessed Gunslinger Build (Full Buster) -Gears and Cards- Headgears: Upper: Any Expa HG, Vote Valk Helm, any Legendary HG, Ship Captains Hat(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) w/ Kiel card and any of these:(Forsaken Soldier Card & Maya Purple Card) Mid: Any Legendary, Vote, Donate or Emperium aura/aurora w/ Kiel card Lower: Gunslinger Vote Cape/Blessed Ring/Drake Jacket/Lovely Ribbon/Slayer Scarf w/ Kiel card Weapons: Eisa's Ember w/(2x Turtle General, Samurai Spectre/Thanatos, Randgris/Skeleton Worker) (Feel free to test your own card combo) Armors: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ Tao Gunka and Ghostring cards Cloaks: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ Raydric and Skoll cards and 2x Raydric cards for switching Boots: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ 2x Fallen Bishop Hibram cards Shields: Forsaken Knight/King, Vote King or Friggs King w/ Usakoring and a Golden Thief Bug for switching Accessories: 2x Dex Gaunts/Belts or Freyr's Gauntlets w/ Dex runes -Stats- STR: Put the rest here to carry seeds AGI: Until aspd is 195 VIT: Around more than 200k + HP INT: 30-50(Full Buster eats seeds like there's no tomorrow. So you might want to add abit more INT) DEX: 280-300 LUK: 1(Need to confirm if Full Buster damage is affected by this stat) -Tips & Application- During WoE, You'd want to keep your distance. The best thing about this class is that you can hit enemies at maximum range using Full Buster Though Full Buster has a high damage output, it can be easily countered. so don't expect it to always be effective. The Skill Dust is Melee so it can penetrate pneuma and push back the enemy. You can also use Charge attack to push them out. In team fights, use Spread attack to whittle the enemy team's HP as support damage, though its damage is not the same as full buster, it is effective in its own way in terms of crowd control Guardian Gunslinger Build (Tracking) -Gears and Cards- Headgears: Upper: Any +10 Vote/Expansion Hat or +10 Ship Captain's Hat w/ Katheryne Keyron Cards Mid: Any legendary, vote, donate, Emperium aura/aurora w/ Tower Keeper Card Lower: Gunslinger Guardian Ring/Drake Jacket/Lovely Ribbon/Slayer Scarf w/Katheryne Keyron Card (Or Fsold) Weapon: Nari's Harbinger w/(2 TG, Samurai Spectre, Skeleton Worker) (Feel free to test your own card combo) Armors: 2 Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ Tao Gunka with Ghostring card and 2 Orc Lord cards Cloaks: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ Raydric/Skoll with Sinx Card Boots: Forsaken Knight/King or Vote King w/ 2 Fallen Bishop Hibram Cards Shields: Forsaken Knight/King, Vote King or Friggs King with Usakoring/GTB Accessories: 2x Freyr's Gauntlets w/ Berzebub Cards or 1 Berzebub card and 1 Phen Card -Stats- STR: until 4500+ weight AGI: Until aspd is 195 VIT: Put the rest here (Should be around 180+) INT: 1 DEX: 280-300 (Divisible by 10) LUK: 1 -SPECIAL NOTES- GS Guardian is considered as a "Glass Cannon". It has a very powerful attack but at the cost of survivability, thus it's very low HP. GS Guardian is very soft due to the new rifle's description(Receive more damage from demihuman by 35%), so you have to rely on being hidden most of the time and ensure you have a paladin for devo. The reason why I use 2 OL on my armor is because I wont be able to survive asuras, I might as well take the champ down with me. -Tips & Application- During Woe times, remove your rifle when walking to the emp so you will receive less damage. (Try getting a L. Revolver or Valis so you can get the HP % bonus) The wide gaps in the maps are your best friend, Hit melee type chars far away and try to whittle their HP as your allies try to kill the enemy. Stay away from ranged enemies. at best you'd want to avoid them. Especially Blessed Gunslingers. After casting tracking, spam piercing shot to try and ensure the kill. This only works on classes with a low HP pool. Get a personal pally with you at all times when PVP-ing. -Additional Notes- This is optional (Though I am against this and see other GS do it) but if you want a more stealthy gameplay, you can use sinx card and max out your distance and use Full Buster to feel like a sniper assassin or pop out next to your opponent and Desperado the hell out of em. Though for Tracking type GS, Cloaking is your best friend and can help you survive even just a little bit. Save up activity tokens for a Ship Captain Hat[1](200 atoks)(20% to physical and ranged attack) and Macho Sunglasses[1](300 atoks)(Enables use of lvl 5 Falcon Eyes) Thus ends my guide Hit me up if you see me in-game Let me know if I missed anything Credits: [GM]Ares for giving me the opportunity to make a GS guide(even though it was reaaally late) Aerofox for letting me test on him ey b0ss denks Kack for a few insights on the job
  12. I've always wanted to write this and encourage everyone to exercise this simple deisgn process I made to have a more impactful ideas or suggestions. Follow these steps so we can lessen information and implement your idea faster. BUt before we start, read Veracity's post below first because it already has all the important things you need to know. Now that you know the rules of posting suggestion, let's start. Whenever you have to post an idea, make sure to fill up these four (4) important points you need to write: Objective, Idea, Team, and Results. Let me break them down for you... OBJECTIVE - write the objective of your idea/suggestion. This should already answer why you want this to happen. If your objective is clear, then we may get a better understanding where you are coming from.. IDEA - so this is where you write (in full detail) your idea/suggestion. Make it as brief as possible: if you want an improvement to a weapon, put all the stats, additional abilities, possible sprite, etc. TEAM - write here who specificially should engage to your idea. Like if it has something to do with coding, then you will probably tag Genesis; if about the whole community, then tag the players, but you can also indicate specifics like "people in fcity"... RESULTS - for us to be sure that we are all aligned, explain here clearly the expected results when we implement your idea. Try to scrutinize your own idea on this part as well so we can minimize the critiques from other readers. So let me give you an example of an idea using this design... OBJECTIVE - Add more players to make the server a fun place to grow. The server's peak before was around 600 players online but now, it can go up to 800. So it means more players play online (could be alt chars but still, we are growing) IDEA - my idea is not new but I would like to have another round of Social Media Contest where players must share FRO website with a photo of their character/s and post it onto their FB, Twitter, etc. One post is equivalent to one entry. Give prizes to 3 lucky participants and give them 2 Bijou cards (first place), 1 Emperium Aurora of their choice (second place), 1 full set of any job of their choice (third place) TEAM - the participants should be registered players of FRO and should make their online posts PUBLIC so the GM team can audit their entry. Genesis and Veracity should be the one to do the random picking of the 3 winners. They should also TALK (yes. with voice on a video) about some stuff on what's happening and going to happen in the server. ? RESULTS - players may create alt FB/ Twitter/etc accounts for them to have more chances of winning BUT I don't mind because it will add traffic to the social media sites and people DID play in FRO when we did this last year. There you have it guys. I hope everyone will exercise this Ideation Process. Thanks for reading!
  13. -YatoSL's Soul Linker Guide- Since there is no guide for SL, I thought, why not make one? It's my first time to make a guide so please if there are any mistakes or concerns please let me know. I'll be teaching the basic card and stat builds for PvE/MvP for those who want to try. What is a Soul Linker? Soul Linkers give up the ways of TaeKwon Do in order to develop and refine their spiritual powers. Calling upon the power of their ancestors, they can use various Spirit Link skills to enhance the abilities of other players as well as use fancy looking offensive and defensive magic. Soul Linkers, despite their base being a melee class, are magic casters. Compared to Wizards and Sages, their spells are severely limited on what they can be used on, however, thanks to Mild Wind they can use powerful Holy, Ghost, and Shadow magic attacks, something that Wizards & Sages don't have. Depending on their skill build they must sacrifice something in one aspect or the other of the game, limiting them to only PvE and PVP They have relatively low HP, but better SP than average. Despite the high SP pool, their spells cost a lot of SP, so INT is often a high priority. On the other hand, many skills do not have extensive cast times (usually at higher levels), resulting in a lower need for DEX compared to other magic-using classes. A unique thing about Soul Linkers is that they are naturally immune to Dispell. (Source:iRO wiki) -Lets Start with stats- MvP/PvE (Note: You can play around with your Vit and Str if you think it is needed. I'm posting the Build I have.) Str: 80 to carry them seeds Agi: ASPD doesn't have to be 195. I set mine at 192 so I can alot stat points to others Vit: 20 Don't worry about having low HP because you will have def and Ka- skills to save you (Regarding the stuns, I don't really mind them since SL is tough enough to survive. This is just a personal choice. Up to you if you want higher vit to be immune to stuns) Int: 300 (To get the full damage of your Esma) Dex: Total 150 since no cast is fixed in this server Luk: 1 unless you gonna break an emp :th_heh: PvP Str: around total of 50 Agi: 195 for the spam Vit: place the rest of your stats here Int: Around 270 - 280 Dex: Total 150 for no cast Luk: 1 -Gears and Cards- Fknight/Fking/VoteKing will do :D MvP/PvE Build (+10 your gears for def) Headgears: Striking Headgear, Valk Helm or Expa Hat, Any Legandary Aura, and Balloon, Rucksack, Vote Cape or Curse Ring with 3 kiels and High Wiz Card Armors: Hatii/Ktullanux/Puppetring and High Priest Card and if possible Forsaken Raider Card Weapon: Soul Linker Highness Staff or Legendary Soul Linker Staff and put 2 bombring cards and 2 doppelganger(reason for this is to use less stats on agi) :th_no1: Shield: Fknight/Fking/VoteKing with GTB Cloak: 2 Deviling, 2 Raydric and 1 Deviling/Raydric + Hollowring Boots: 2 Fallen Bishop Hibram cards Accessories: 2 Int Gaunts/Belts or Urds with Int Runes if you have -Skills- -All the links so you can support your friends or party -Warm Wind make sure you get 1 of each element in your hot key bar cause this will be very useful to you -Tumbling 20% chance of dodging an enemy ranged physical or magic attacks Ka- Skills (Buffs) -Kaizel When you die, you are immidiately resurrected with a 2 second Kyrie Eleison Buff -Kaahi While this buff lasts, every time you are successfully attacked (skill attacks are not affected), it takes 5*SkillLV SP and heals 200*SkillLV HP. If you receive many attacks in a short time, the skill heal you for the total of the attacks (up to the heal limit) -Kaupe Allows you to absolutely evade an enemy attack. For AoE attacks, first hit is avoided -Kaite Reflects all offensive magic except status magic (i.e Stone Curse) Es-Skills (Offensive Skills) (Note: You need to use Estin/Estun/Eske before you can use Esma) "Es" type magic can only be used on monsters. If it is used on a player character, nothing happens and the caster will be stunned for 0.5 sec -Estin Magical skill that attacks only Small monsters. The affected monster is pushed back by 2 cells. When this is used on monsters that are not Small, it will do nearly no damage, but it will push them back. -Estun Magical skill that attacks only Medium monsters. The affected monster is stunned for 2 sec. When this is used on Small monsters it won't stun them, but it will do full damage. -Eske Increases monster's ATK by +300%, but halves their DEF. -Esma Strong Magic attack that changes its element depending on Warm Wind. This skill can also be used (within 3 seconds) after casting any kind of "Spirit"-type buffs. PvP Build Bolts and Stave Crasher are your primary offensive skills here. Spam them hard and remember to switch when needed Headgear: Striking Headgear, Valk Helm or Expa Hat, Any Legandary Aura, and Balloon, Rucksack, Vote Cape or Curse Ring with 3 kiels with Maya P. or Fsold. If you have Kafra Hairband(obtainable from etoks in token trader) It will boost your damage. Armors: GR/TGK and/or Double TGK (Personally I use 2 TGK because of the low HP pool. Please support my plea here Weapon: 3 L.SL Staff/SL Highness one with 4 kingrings and the other 2 Double TG, Inca/Thana, and Phreeoni for Stave Crasher Shield: Usakoring. No need GTB because of Kaite. just spam Kaite to reflect the magic damage Cloak: raydric and skoll Boots: 2 FBH cards Accessories: 2 Int Belts/Gaunts or 2 Urds with Siroma/Imp card -Final Notes- -Always check if your Kaizel is up because it'll be a huge help. -It is always good to check what element is best against the boss you're fighting with -Practice and get the right rhythm when spaming Estun and Esma because it will be very tiring if you keep spamming like bolts. :th_ok: Thank you for taking the time to read my guide. Please tell me if there's anything else I should add to make this guide useful for everyone in fRO. :th_thx: Credits to XenoSL for introducing me to SL Ohki for the raid guide. 14. I. Introduction II. Equipment III. Stats IV. Skills V. Notes I. Introduction Moving on to another Paladin guide, this time we’ll have more about the offensive capabilities of the pally. This is the second Paladin guide I’ve done so far because hell yeah, class mastery, and there really is more to it than just badass defense. And there isn’t a guide for it at all so here it is. Again, second to the series, who knows, I might make another for another type. Here’s me giving you the hint. To you and your pals, read on and thank you for reading my guides. II. Equipment Headgear Top Valkyrie Helm / Valkyrie Expansion Hats / Limited Edition Headgears – Limited Edition Headgears because on this type of pally, we value those stats like it ain’t always enough.Card/s Kiel + Maya Purple/Forsaken Soldier/GeminiMid LHZ / Rune of Power / Lovely Ribbon Aurora – These have the same effects, just different looks. Emperium Aurora – Useful for more stats. Card/s KielLower Paladin Ring of the DivineCard/s KielArmor Forsaken King ArmorCard/s Ghostring + Tao Gunka – Default Ghostring + RSX – Anti Knockbacks like Arrow Repel. Ghostring + Orc Lord – Reflect. Yes. Still. Ghostring + Puppetring OR Puppetring + Puppetring – I don’t know why I’ve put this in here. It’s really not that necessary but I guess for the sake of trying the Paladin in different heights. You’re still considered as a wall no matter what the build so considering that, it would still take a few more extra hits to take you down. During that ordeal, this might just work for whatever reason you think it’s for. Cloak Forsaken King CloakCard/s 2x Skoll – Still my default even on this mode. 2x Deviling – This + GTB shield is sometimes enough to counteract against Biochemist Acid Bomb and Bolts. 2x Raydrics – In all honesty, I’ve never ever used this on any of my Paladins. But sure let’s add it in here. Shoes Forsaken King BootsCard/s 2x Fallen Bishop – On the previous Paladin Guide I’ve made, I’ve advised against using 2x FBH on the Paladin because it’s not a STR built Paladin anyway. It’s more of a HP/Reflect type and that was our priority. But for this, don’t be afraid to go 2x FBH because you just have more than average HP, you are pretty much easier to kill, so you’re going to have to spam an awful lot of seeds in faster speeds anyway to stay alive. It seems balanced now so make sure you’re making use of your SP too. Take out your shield and Rapid Smite people. Dragoon Wizard + General Egnigem Cenia – Wear this while chasing hit-and-run players. Whenever you’re in range of them to attack, switch to 2x FBH. If that’s too much of a hassle, then use it only for casual defending, and Martyr’s Reckoning. Weapon Legendary Paladin Spear Odin’s Avenger Card/s 2x Turtle General, Valkyrie Randgris, Skeleton Worker, Mao Guai – 2x TGs and a Valkyrie Randgris is mandatory. It’s up to you to choose between Mao Guai (Inflict 20% more damage on Ghost Property) and Skeleton Worker (Increase damage inflicted on medium sized monster by 15%, ATK + 15) on which you will use to compound onto your main spear. Metaling Card, Dragoon Warlord Card, Lord of the Dead Card, Valkyrie Randgris Card – These go to your utility spear. A Legendary Paladin Spear is enough to do the job. Strip + Coma + Dispel all in one. But of course it’s up to you if you prefer having more than 1 LoD card in there or more DW or Metaling. Shield Frigg’s King Shield +10 Cross Shield – Refine to +10. Dropped by Incarnation of Morroc (Mob ID: 1919). This shield increases Rapid Smiting and Shield Boomerang damage by 30% (Frigg’s King Shield only does 15%, and to top it off, the Cross Shield weighs 50 points more than the Frigg’s), however, it also increases the SP consumption of skills by 10%. Use this only for going all out on attack. Watch around you and switch to Frigg’s immediately when necessary. Card/s Usakoring Golden Thief Bug Maya Accessory STR Belts VIT Belts Loki’s Seal with STR Runes (Rapid Smiting and Holy Cross) Asgard’s Essence with VIT Runes (Martyr’s Reckoning) Ring of Resonance (Blue Ifrit Ring) (Just-in-case Ring?) III. Stats There’s a pattern to follow when it comes to this certain build’s stat. What I am talking about is what or which offensive skill you’re going more of into. For example, I am more into using the Rapid Smiting skill for my STR Pally. Then what I’m going to do is wear my Valkyrie Helm/LTD Helm and adjust my stats according to that to get to the ‘divisible by 10’ thing bonus when adding stats. On the other hand, if I prefer to use more Holy Cross, I’d use the specialized helm such as the Angel of Ghost helm here so I’ll wear it; adjust my stats again until it is divisible by 10. Lastly, if I was going for a Martyr’s Reckoning pally, I’d wear the Halloween helms which boost my HP, and adjust my stats again accordingly. These three patterns depend on these 3 headgears because yes, their stats and bonuses vary. Whichever of these you might use, the two others will just have to follow and adjust according to your chosen path. After wearing your main headgear, put stats in this order: STR (until you decide where to stop around 290+), DEX (until you have a total of 150), AGI (until you have a total of 195 ASPD, unbuffed), VIT (until the rest of your stat points run out). STR - 290+ AGI - (until you have 195 ASPD) VIT - (the rest of stats) INT - 1 DEX - 150 total LUK - 1 IV. Skills Offensive: Rapid Smiting – Primary offensive skill. Works especially well when you’re using a +10 Cross Shield with it. Holy Cross – This very much hurts given the right circumstances. The frequency of how much you can use this skill depends on how high your ASPD is. So that’s one of the reasons why we need 195 ASPD in this build. Martyr’s Reckoning – I don’t even have to explain. But just a note, according to my research department, Martyr’s Reckoning favors more HP than more ATK to deal more damage. If you ever wondered if using 2x Loki’s Seals is better when using Martyr’s Reckoning, then let me tell you that it is best to use 2x Asgard’s Essences instead. Shield Boomerang – You can get the most out of this skill when you’re linked. It’s a 2nd to Rapid Smiting kind of thing. Standard Defensive Skills: Endure – You’ll barely enjoy the non-stun-lock luxury time but hey, better be there than not at all! Guard – Basically, all kinds of Paladin have to at least shrug and guard off some attacks. Shrink – The use of this skill is useful when you’re not interested in fighting back. But if you’re in for the fight, I recommend you just turn it off. We don’t want to chase people while pushing them away at the same time. Shield Reflect – Basically, all kinds of Paladin have to at least reflect something back. Defending Aura – Very useful in the current meta, as of the time of writing of this guide. Shots fired. Pun very much intended. I’m sorry. Battle Chant – Still meant to bring x2s to your mates. And to remove strip statuses and stuff. Supportive/Utility Skills: Magnum Break – Useful for the bonus ATK and HIT. Primer for your Spear and Shield. Gloria Domini – Deals a fixed 2000 damage as well as taking away up to 40% SP for each hit. Spear Quicken – This is a build where we actually need to have 195 ASPD so one might think this isn’t really that important. But sometimes changing your headgears might have a direct effect on how much ASPD you’ll have on a certain situation. For example, my Rapid Smiting headgear needs to be replaced with the Angel of Ghost helm for some reason, and so by doing so, my ASPD drops from 195 to 192. To keep it short, just use it. Smite – Can knock back enemies 9 football fields away. Berserk – Let your HP drop down below 25% and be granted with a LVL10 Provoke on yourself. Provoke – Provoke might increase somebody’s ATK, but don’t forget it also decreases their defense whoever you fancy casting it upon. I’m sure it makes at least a bit of difference to your DPS. Otherwise, prepare for some spankin’. V. Notes Show up in fights wearing your HP gear. I mean wear your Halloween headgear (this is the only thing that shows but still…), your GEC boots, and your Asgards. Having the illusion of you having much, much more HP is often enough to tell them you’re not as easy to kill like the others. Not even counting the defensive buffs you can have anytime. This way, they’ll hesitate, and choose other people to hit instead. If that works, switch to your offensive setup, kill, and good luck explaining. I don’t have that much notes so I’ll just state and recap some of the obvious. Correct me if I'm wrong in any of them. In this guide I’ve shown you that a STR pally can have 3 (or maybe more) types of Headgear to use. So, if you know how to use it, the Battle Mode, put them in one of your skill bars according to how you like them in order. Easy switching, easy killing. Rapid Smiting is forced to stay as a Neutral property skill. Martyr’s Reckoning will always be Neutral. Holy Cross will always be Holy. You are able to carry up to 550 seeds in one go compared to our VIT Paladin that can hold 370 to 400, just to show you the difference. P.S. There have been a few edits and additions to the Full Devotion guide (Down below is my signature and one of the links there lead to the Full Devotion / Reflect guide, click on it to check it out). Everything I’ve changed will be listed so you can find them faster. ***Acknowledgments*** - LittleGirlNamedArya - Kyle (Yatogami#) for the Cross Shield introduction - Lu for pvp testing. 19. Job Change Guide Job Mistress located in fcity 79 134 Baby Job Changer located in fcity 100 133 "What job should we choose?" Novice The Novice is the starting point for all characters in Ragnarok Online. When you create a new character, you may choose from different Hairstyles and Hair colors. Novices do not incur any EXP penalty upon death, and regain 50% HP when respawning. You may also choose which starting Stats to have. Once your job level is 10, you can now change your job Super Novice A Super Novice is a special kind of class which exploits nearly every first class skill. Super Novices also sport highly effective armor and shields which reduce elemental attacks. Swordsman Branch Swordsman Swordmen are honest and as stubborn as the strong waves of the ocean. With strong physical attacks, defense, and a sense of command, a Swordman can become a headstrong leader to others. Swordmen continuously train to gain more skill and strength. Knight The Knight class is the primary second job for the Swordman class. Being a hack and slash type of character, Knights are granted access to a new mastery that will open a new type of weapon to wield aside from the Swordman's swords. They are also allowed to acquire powerful AoE skills like the famed Bowling Bash and the spearexclusive skill, Brandish Spear. Lord Knight Lord Knights are the Transcendent variants of Knights. The Lord Knight's skills are a good balance of offense and defense. The Lord Knight is now a master of weapons with a special affinity for Two-handed Swords and Spears. A Lord Knight has formidable attack strength and can crush an opponent's defense with ease. Being a Lord Knight, they gain vastly improved offensive capabilities and some defensive capabilities. They easily retain their status as the class with the highest HP Modifier and strongest physical AoE damage dealer. Crusader Crusaders are a fine blend of physical strength and faith-driven magic prowess, making them a versatile class. They are capable of melee combat with a spear or a sword and shield, of playing a supportive role in parties with beneficial magic skills, and of sacrificing their health to wield powerful holy magic. Knowing this, they can be built more like a mage than a warrior, or a classic favorite is to play the crusader like a tank. What makes this class so popular is the versatility, it's natural aim towards fighting the undead, and its centralization around having high VIT and defense. Paladin Paladins are the Transcendent variant of the Crusader class. Aside from the HP/SP boost, the Paladin's defensive capabilities have not seen significant changes. They do receive many new offensive abilities which inspiring many INT-built Crusaders to become battle-built Paladins. For those Paladins who wish to continue as an INT-type build, the Battle Chant skill allows them to play a supportive role in large party settings, and the 20 additional skills points allow them to learn a much wider variety of skills. Mage Branch Mage Mages rely on their skills as their main source of damage, and such attacks are magically based and only take into account the target's Magical Defense, and not theirPhysical Defense. Furthermore, all of a Mage's spells are elemental, thus meaning the accurate use of the correct spell against the correct monsters is highly important. Wizard Wizards are powerful offensive magic users. They rely on dangerous magic strikes as well as devastating Area of Effect spells to wreak havoc. High Wizard The Mage and the Wizard have been able to tap into mystical and elemental magic but the real power is now fully realized in the spells mastered by the High Wizard. Only a fool would dare challenge the awesome might of a High Wizard's power head on! A High Wizard has much more power than a regular Wizard, and at a much earlier level as well. Unlike the Wizard, it hasMystical Amplification, which will give 50% more MATK on the next offensive magic skill to be cast. Sage Sages are a PvP-oriented class with the role of caster/anti-Mage. They do not have the offensive abilities of a Wizard, but are a slightly buffed version of Mage with theirFree Casting. Sages shine in their defensive abilities, with many builds centered around Magnetic Earth. Dispell is also a popular and sought-after spell which is useful for removing buffs from the enemy. Many of their skills can only realistically be used in PvP, making PvM quite difficult, particularly for VIT/DEX builds that have difficulty solo levelling. Battle sages are a 'for fun' build which can become a powerful leveling build only if matched with a Soul Linker Professor Professors are the transcendent version of Sages. Through rebirth, Professors gain class-defining SP manipulative skills such as Soul Exhale, Indulge, and Soul Siphon. The two former skills enable Professors to act as endless sources of SP, which makes them a favorable class for party play. The third SP-manipulating skill, Soul Siphon, allows Professors to offensively eliminate all of their opponent's SP, making Professors a formidable class for PvP and WoE. Archer Branch Archer Archers are experts at long-range combat with Bows and Arrows. Their range gives them several advantages, which includes: The ability to change the element of their weapon quickly by changing their arrow type. This makes Archers able to exploit elemental advantages easily. Accuracy and damage is increased by the same stat (DEX), allowing all attacks to connect and deal a lot of damage. Range enables archers to defeat stationary or slow-moving opponents that are stronger than they are without being hit. Hunter Hunters are skillful at indirect combat. Their increased ASPD with bows helps makes them superior to Archers in ranged combat. They are also able to lay mines and traps on the ground to hinder or catch mobs. These traps will cause various status effects (Sandman inflicts the status sleep, for example) or cause elemental damage (i.e. Blast Mine, Land Mine) to a target. Sniper One shot, one kill! There is no better way to describe the Sniper. They specialize in precise and powerful ranged attacks. The Sniper is the master of the Bow. In a Sniper’s hands, the bow is a deadly instrument capable of dealing massive damage and carnage. They gained a new skill called Falcon Assault with the help of his lifelong friend, the falcon. When friendship strengthens, so does their power. They also have skills that amplify their bow mastery, as well as piercing arrow skills. Bard The voice of a Bard is laden with magical harmonies, singing hymns that invoke the ancient Gods of Asgard to instill fear in the hearts of his enemies and inspire his comrades to victory with songs of eternal youth and glorious charges. Where their female counterparts, the Dancers, are more bent on disruption, Bards specialize in support, which make them central in all defensive strategies during the War of Emperium. Clown Taught new songs by the gods themselves, Minstrels are now a powerful class. They are able to enchant the enemy with different music and deal large amounts of damage with Arrow Vulcan skill. Minstrel can also give half their stats to a supported character enabling the supported fighter to increase their damage. This job is known as Clown in other localizations Dancer It is said that time slows down when a Dancer starts to move her hips to the sound of some mysterious tune; that those watching may lose control of their bodies and find their magic reserves either greatly improved or gone altogether. Where their male counterparts, the Bards, are more bent on support, Dancers specialize at disruptive maneuvers, which make them an invaluable asset in the War of Emperium. Gypsy Everybody loves the Gypsy's dancing, especially her enemies. It's the last thing they see before they go to their graves with a smile on their lips and an arrow through their hearts. The Gypsy is so alluring that hundreds of acts of heroism (and foolishness) have been performed in her name. With more lithe and agile bodies granted by the gods, Gypsies are hard to resist especially when one begins her dance. Not a single drop of sweat can be seen. Every dance and movement seemingly effortless. Graceful dance is her specialty, dancing gracefully to lure the monster to its death with the newly acquired Arrow Vulcan and Tarot Card of Fate skills. Merchant Branch Merchant Always on the lookout for profit, Merchants are the economic experts of Ragnarok Online. Setting out to make a fortune, playing as a Merchant will allow the player to get the most out of every last zeny. Merchants are also handy with items, being able to carry far more than other classes thanks to their Enlarge Weight Limit and Pushcart abilities. Although a Merchant is bound to feel more at home at the marketplaces and auction houses of Rune-Midgard, they can still hold their own in battle, specially when it comes to defending their wares. Inherently sturdy, Merchants are able to equip most of the game's heavy armor and melee weapons, allowing good defense and decent attack. Blacksmith Easily the most powerful of all the 2nd classes, the Blacksmiths sport damage equal to that of the trans 2nd classes(except their own trans class of course). Their only weakness lies in the fact that they only have 1 multitarget AoE spell (Cart Revolution) that has knockback and limited range, making it hard to target with. As a single target killer though, it is no doubt that this class shines bright as the leading killer. Whitesmith The Mastersmith skill base grows upon the Blacksmith's Axe/Mace skills and received a lot of nice new skills. Although the class almost seems to be ignored by Gravity, or almost lowered in power compared to the other Reborn classes, Smiths still pose a dangerous threat to almost every class. They have the power to break Weapons and Armor while they're attacking their enemy with Shattering Strike (Meltdown) and then unleash a flurry of High Speed Cart Rams (Cart Termination). This class takes a lot of customization in order to make work properly and takes a lot of time and effort to play one well. Alchemist The Alchemist is a class which optimizes Potion Creation and Homunculus, as well as various other potion-related skills. They are a class which work for the benefit of their friends and strike terror into the hearts of their foes (armor). Biochemist Biochemists are a much stronger class than the Alchemists, provided there are sufficient funds and SP for the new skill Acid Demonstration. While Alchemists were more of a melee class, Biochemists have the option to level with a skill other than Cart Revolution and Mammonite. Many invest a great amount of their stat points into INT instead of AGI, and level with Acid Bomb or magic attacks from weapons and Homunculi instead. Thief Branch Thief Waiting in the shadows, planning where they'll strike next, the mischievous Thieves are a force to reckon with. Swift and powerful, few can keep up with a Thief's attack speed and power, whether they're slashing their way in battle with a sharp dagger, or striking from afar with a bow. Striking them down isn't easy either, coupling their high flee with the ability to become invisible and poison their pursuers, Thieves have only magic to fear. Assassin Assassins (and their transcended Assassin Cross) are able to equip a weapon in each hand and the exclusive users of Katar weapons. Assassins have a variety of damage dealing and poisoning skills. The Assassin are the only class who can walk slightly faster than any other class ingame as long as they leveled the proper skill (Thief's Improve Dodge). The Katar wielding Assassins also receive double the normal amount of critical hit rate. Therefore, whatever amount of critical rate Assassins have, it would always be doubled. Assassin Cross An elite group of Assassins. The Assassin Cross utilizes stealth and confusion in order to land the perfect killing blow. The Assassin Cross has a huge repertoire of lethal arts including ultimate mastery of poison-use, better than the original Assassin. With these new skills, the Assassin Cross now has a wide choice of brutal methods to overcome opponents. All without ever leaving the shadows... Rouge Rogues are a versatile class, only really lacking in PvM skills but excelling in PvP and WoE. With their strip skills, Rogues can render most classes useless in a PvP environment. With Gank, a Rogue can obtain double the loot another class could gather in the same amount of time. Rogues can wield bows, daggers, or swords and can copy a variety of player skills to help them level, although a Rogue cannot use Intimidate to its full potential like its transcendent counterpart can. On a different note, Rogues can be excellent at soloing things in a PvM environment. Their high dodge, fast attacks, and stealthy nature make them a force to be reckoned with in a dungeon. Stalker A Stalker is the Transcendent variant of Rogues. Most melee classes try to avoid them like the plague in fear of getting fully divested and then clobbered by one of their many copied skills during WoE. Stalkers are geared more towards PvP and WoE, however most builds can do PvM just as well. Their main forte is the now improved intimidating capability. They can opt to keep any skill gained via Intimidate by simply casting Preserve. Most prefer to intimidateBowling Bash, it works well with most of their builds. One of their other favored skills is Storm Gust being cast at its lowest level, which -usually executed after Divest Armor or Full Divestment- will render most targets immobile in PvP environment. Acolyte Branch Acolyte Acolytes live their lives serving the Catholic Church and following the religious teachings. They train to become selfless and devoted individuals, aiming to help all that they meet. The religious teachings forbid Acolytes and other members of the Church from using bladed weapons. Instead, they typically carry staves and rods for casting skills that support their allies and harm their foes and maces for physical damage. Priest Once Acolytes have undergone rigorous spiritual training and have served the Church and the community as a whole, they have the opportunity to be promoted within the ranks of the Church. If the Monk is said to train their body to fight evil and the Undead physically, the Priest does so with magic. As their spiritual journey brings them closer to God, they gain advanced skills in healing as well as new ways to assist their allies and harm their foes. They are able to resurrect fallen comrades, protect them from harm, and bless their weapons. They can create spaces of safe haven where the Undead cannot penetrate and can decimate hordes of Undead with ease. High Priest The High Priest is the Transcendent variant of Priest. The High Priest is the epitome of spiritual calm. A bulwark in the storm of chaos, he is more than capable of protecting his comrades when faced with even the most ferocious enemy. Despite the many skills taught to them by the Priests of Prontera Church, they still need to learn a few more from the Gods themselves. Now able to create areas where no violence may occur, they are able to Heal more, Bless more and Serve even more. Their skills are truly gifts from God. Monk Monks are a versatile class that can deal damage in several ways unique to themselves. They are most known for the powerful Guillotine Fist skill, which has uses inMVP, PVP and WoE scenarios. Most builds are damage-dealers, focusing on maximizing damage via skills such as Occult Impaction and their Combo abilities. Specialized Monk builds can be very efficient for both MVP and WoE purposes. Champion A Champion is the Transcendent variant of Monk. Known for the one-hit skill, Asura Strike. Champions are even deadlier in close range combat due to their boosted SP count and STR. Champions get mostly new combo-skills as their transcendental skills. Combo skills are mostly used for PvM but still can wreck havoc in PvP if executed properly. Gunslinger Gunslingers are flashy and confident New Age warriors that rely on a wide array of guns and powerful skills to deal as much damage as possible in a short amount of time to their enemies. Gunslingers are always looking for a chance to show off their talent. Ninja The ninja class is fun and offers three types of roles to play: a magic ninja, a throwing ninja (now nerfed to be the weakest of the builds), and the melee ninja. Ninjas excel in the art of evasion with skills like Cicada Skin Shed and Mirror Image which prevent almost all non-magical damage from harming them. Their magic tree offers several fun spells that are unlike that of any other class (although nowhere near as powerful as the wizard class's spells). Taekwon Branch Taekwon TaeKwon Kids are practitioners of the art of TaeKwon-Do. They fore go the use of weapons and instead specialize in a variety of kicks. Their equipment is limited to equips that are usable by all jobs except novices. Star Gladiator TaeKwon Master is a class for characters who have chosen TaeKwon Kid as their first profession and wish to continue in the ways of the TaeKwon. One of the most notable benefits that a TaeKwon Master has over a TaeKwon Kid is the ability to wield books to help deal more damage physically. TaeKwon Master is an unusual class in that the majority of their skills are bound to the celestial bodies of the Sun (Solar), Moon (Lunar) and Stars (Stellar), and are very restricted in their use. 22. Hey guys, I just want to ask what guides you want/need to see or updated either here in the forums or in the wiki. This is in conjunction with the "Submit a Guide to the Wiki!" post by [GM] Veracity to update the Wiki with new or revised guides about quests, leveling, farming etc. Guide makers can then check for your responses here, create the guides as requested, post it, and then (have a chance to) be published in the currently being renovated ForsakenRO Wiki. We will be looking forward to your responses!
  23. There's got to be no Ragnarok server without the dependable Kafra and her services. ForsakenRO has its own unique Kafra who almost has everything you'll ever need while marching your way to the path towards victory! Forsaken City's Forsaken Kafra Each town has its own Forsaken Kafra. The Forsaken Kafra can offer you services such as: Change Save Point Guild Storage Item Remover Item Refiner Card Remover Repair Item Coin Converters Renter Platinum Skills Buy Skill Points Stat Reset Feeling Reset Change Save Point - This is one of the first things you might want to do whenever you create a new character. Your default save point at the beginning of each Novice's career is at Novice Zone 2 (@warp novice02). Choose the town where you want to be revived (if you were killed) or relocated (coming from a map such as the custom ones wherein you need to talk to an NPC to exit) and talk to the Forsaken Kafra. Select this option to set it as your Save Point and from then on, whenever you revive or get relocated, you'll spawn at the desired map. Guild Storage - Select this option and you will be warped right in front of the Forsaken Kafra, and will be granted access to your Guild's storage. This storage is shared and can be used by all the members of a guild. Anyone can store items in it likewise gather them from it. Share equipment and different items for your fellow guild mates to use. Unlike your personal storage (@storage), the Guild Storage can not be opened by any commands. It can also hold up to 1000 different kinds of items compared to the personal storage's 600. Selecting this option without having any Guild at all will have no effect whatsoever but warp you right in front of the Forsaken Kafra. NOTE: If you create a guild and put items in the Guild Storage, once you break the guild (/breakguild guildname), all remaining items in it will permanently vanish even if you create a guild with the same name as the one you have disbanded and checking the Guild Storage right after. Item Remover - Some items in-game can neither be dropped, sold or traded away. The best way to get rid of them if they are bugging you and your inventory is by simply using this option. To remove a certain item from your inventory, search for the item's ID (purely consists of numbers. Example: Lucius Fierce Armor of Volcano's ID is - 2344), if you have no idea what the ID is for the item, you can always search the web, and then type it down the blank space provided. NOTE: This procedure removes only 1 (one) item from your inventory no matter what, meaning, if you have 100 Apples in your inventory, you will be left with 99 once the action is completed. Item Refiner - With this option, you can refine weapons and armor to their fullest in a single click. Just put any number from 1 - 10 in the space the Kafra provides and voilà! As per tradition, you will need an amount of Zeny (varies) and either a Phracon (for Level 1 Weapons), an Emveretarcon (for Level 2 Weapons), an Oridecon (for Level 3 Weapons), or an Elunium (for Headgear, Armor, Garment, Footgear and Shield) before being able to refine equipment. Card Remover - Compounded the wrong card to the wrong equipment or vice versa? No worries! With this option, you can completely undo the process. As catalysts, you will need a varying amount of zeny, one Star Crumb and one Yellow Gemstone. Service Fee: 200,000 z For each card removed: +25,000 zeny Repair Item - It sure is annoying finding out that your weapon or your armors are smashed to pieces that you can't even use them, leaving your defenses wide open and your offense pitiful. Well, guess what? Just like in refining, you don't have to consult Dr. Blacksmith to repair your weapons for you. Each repair from the Forsaken Kafra (regardless whether a weapon or armor) costs a mere 5000 zeny. Coin Converters - Looking to bank and save your zeny the easiest way? Tired of having too many numbers on the Basic Info window for some odd reason? Do you want to pass it around just like common items during trades? Look no further for answers because the Forsaken Kafra is able to convert a desired amount of your zeny into coins (and vise versa) for easier saving or trading! Bronze Coin - 10,000,000 z (Ten Million Zeny) Platinum Coin - 100,000,000 z (One Hundred Million Zeny) Gold Coin - 500,000,000 z (Five Hundred Million Zeny) Mithril Coin - 1,000,000,000 z (One Billion Zeny) NOTE: You are ABLE TO SELL the coins to NPCs with a two-digit prize tag (50 zeny). You are also ABLE TO DROP the coins from your inventory. BE CAREFUL AND BE RESPONSIBLE! Renter - With this option, you are able to rent either a Cart (Merchant Class, Super Novice), a Falcon (Archer Class), and or the adorable Peco Peco (Swordsman Class). Make sure you have the respective skill needed in order to be able to rent from the Kafra! Platinum Skills - Have your 2nd Job/Class characters get a taste of their respective platinum skills without the hassle of having to quest for them! Buy Skill Points - If you ever get short of Skill points to level your skills up or if you want to learn and level up skills without having to achieve new Job Levels, use this option to buy them from the Forsaken Kafra. Each Skill Point costs One Million Zeny (1,000,000 z). Stat Reset - Wanna try a new stat build for your character? Or did you just misclicked and put an unnecessary stat point, completely ruining your 'perfect' stats? No worries, because the Forsaken Kafra can do the resetting too for you! Each Stat Resetting costs 5000 z. NOTE: If you have already completed the Knight Quest and done the Stat Reset, make sure to talk to Prince Theodore III (@warp for_king 101 158) to regain those bonus +200 stat points back! Feeling Reset - This option is exclusive only for the use of the Star Gladiator job. For more info, click on this link to find out what this resets.
