  1. It is pretty much easy to time if you know the exact time it opens and not depend on the broadcasts. Plus counting down manually or having a stopwatch is beneficial. As Ohki said before, you can just insert all the information beforehand and smash that enter button to get in right at the time it opens and you're in. WPE isn't required for it, but it is possible with it. For that there are several options to fix that issue and one of them is having packet encryption. That won't happen due to the client having to be updated and moving away from the current system that is used for implementing customs though. So in the end, Ohki's suggestion probably is a better option.
  2. I agree on most besides the rings, as they were meant to be special. The blessed ring quest already is partially available on the wiki. However, suggesting to update the wiki articles with more up-to-date information is a very valid point. It'll also look more professional when keeping that up, possibly drawing positive attention.
  3. To translate (?): Higher Rapid shower damage and decrease cooldown and allow Desperado to be used on Magnetic Earth/Land Protector. I agree that Gunslingers needs to be fixed because that desperado nerf was too big (didn't see harm in the original speed anyway, just disable their effects). But personally I don't have a fitting solution with all the things and customs going on in this server. Would need to do proper research before making a valid suggestion. Also if my 'translation' is correct, it'll never happen due to the skill mechanics of AoE skills.
  4. All suggestions regarding/involving the GTB card have been rejected since 2007 (I know since I'm here for that long). The Bonus NomagicDamage script can't be nullified with an anti-GTB card unless you change the mechanics of the GTB card itself. Thus the suggestion you make here for another card would also involve changing the GTB card and thus won't happen. However I personally would support GTB card to only reduce magic damage by 50-70% so that magic classes still have their use, people would just default to their Usakoring shields and render the card useless that way. Since Coma and Dispel still don't pierce GTB, that'll be it's main functionality (like it is now) and wizards also still would have to swap weapons to get the most out of it, since everyone default Usakoring anyway (50% less damage from players). In the end it'll nullify your suggestion and we're back at square one. Hopefully you do take this a bit more serious than previous replies to your suggestion as no one tries to bash it, but talks from experience. Also, if you do choose to bash what I just said above that's your loss, not mine. I'm giving you insight on why this isn't feasible, what you do with that is up to you.
  5. Meteor Assault is ATK focussed and not being boosted by EDP is the main reason for it's 'low' damage. Utilising different card setup would already increase the damage a little, but there isn't enough of a damage boost on a high rate server to make the skill compete with other high damage skills (this was never the intention of this skill anyway). Soul breaker has a mixed formula basing it's damage on the players physical strength and total intelligence plus doing some random damage between 500-1000. However it is still depending on the DEF of the enemy. A short overview is given below to clarify this: 1) Soul Breaker Base Damage = Physical Total Damage + {(SkillLV * Player's INT) * 5} + Random Damage (500 ~ 1000) 2) Final Damage = Soul Breaker Base Damage / Enemy DEF + Soul Breaker Base Damage As you can see on a high rate with people having higher VIT values and gears giving more DEF than regular RO servers (low rate/original RO) it'll all decrease the total damage output. To allow for more damage, either a card/weapon modification has to be done or (what never has been done so far) a source mod on the Soul Breaker damage formula. All-in-all it'll give assassins an edge that'll make them even harder to deal with. They got their place and aren't almighty, which keeps the balance circle complete. Also, try using Grimtooth more often and swap weapons to get the most out of your builds. If you want to get more out of your class, don't copy others and think out of the box.
  6. I think a better solution would be is utilising a second client and GRF with minimal effects implemented that are being used for RCX. That way players have less lag, almost identical effects being display for said skills but a little less reconfigurability. Also less chances to abuse certain mechanisms of the program. Because, if only 1 or 2 people find out how to do those Bowling Bash scripts and release it, then whole guilds will (ab)use that, also counts for changing heal parameters for AD for example. Personally I am against the original suggestion, but I do think a point is made to reduce lag in critical times of heavy skill usage for those with toasters as computers.

  10. I think the key here would be two factor authentication. However, since this depends both on the client and the server configuration, it may be hard to implement. As no clients with the features that we're currently using exists any more with that up-to-date feature (pincode system by clicking numbers). Due to this, even though I completely support this suggestion/idea, I believe this is impossible unless the administration team will make a major revamp of the way all the monsters and items are processed by the client and make an update to the lua-system.
  11. This will cause more Zeny inflation as there will be even less sources where it can be spend on. However, if a 'perk' can be purchased to activate a skill that unlimited bottles will be activated, it should require you to carry (for example) 1k of each at least to preserve the weight limit balance that would be required in PvP for the carry capacity of consumables. Being aware that you directly aim at one skill (acid demonstration) for the usage of bottles and perhaps desire to remove the consumption from the separate skills (Acid Terror & Bomb), but that still is undesirable as it could shift the way Creators play (which is admirable) and then 'abusing' that form of free skill spamming. I think it's safe to say that this suggestion would deteriorate the current game play and with balance in mind, this should be gently rejected.
  12. Nice thorough explanation of why you think the experience you recently had is a bad one. But also quite nice and professional from Ares to pick this up swiftly. I think some mutual understanding is required to understand the course of action here and perhaps that Ares should be able to put himself in the mind of a new player that isn't aware of how personal bot checks are conducted here. On the other side, the player, new or not, should also be able to put himself into the perspective of the GM who has the experience that if the leash is too long that people disconnect, delete characters and will not be easy to be traced back any more for violating the rules. I personally hope that Ares' reply has made you accept what happened wasn't intended to scare you away. He could've done it nicer, but also do keep in mind that the strict attitude comes from his previous experience with players who were bots and 'escaped' the interrogation barrage due to not talking back and disconnecting etc.
  13. Demand and supply. The basic of any economic system, whether it is online or in real life. Though I believe on-line more control can be enforced, it can also provide a more idealistic route on how it can be done in real life. Anyhow, back on track. If there's more supply than demand, the ratio of seed tickets required for 1 (forsaken) token will increase. However, if this source of seeds somehow is taken away, the demand will be higher and thus the ratio will balance more in the favour of seeds. Thinking about those two factors, you could make a reasonable suggestion to reduce the seed ticket available from certain sources that are now easily obtained through other means than farming. I am not planning to make a suggestion for you, merely pointing you in a direction where the economy can be directed more to be based on the actual farming than 3rd party sources of the wares. However, as long there's even 1 or 2 people selling for 5:1, you'll never get to sell things for 4:1 as they'll wait for the cheaper (in their perspective better) option.

  15. The image is too small for us to read, could you provide the direct link to the image? EDIT: If I had to guess, make sure in the lower left of the opensetup.exe the Reg icon is green/blue. If it's on LUA you'll get an error.
  16. Go read here: http://www.forsaken-...cbook/?p=322554 Download the file I linked there, it solved quite some issues. Make sure it's on registry (lower left) and not LUA since we're using an older client (2008).
  17. Try using OpenSetup, when opening it, make sure the reg icon is clicked (blue/green when active) and make changes. This could solve your issue.
  18. What kyoshiro has written works for unstucking yourself. However, if you could provide details about this problem it would significantly help in preventing future issues. Such as: What were you doing, where did this happen, if you remember the specific part of the map you were on, that could also attribute to solving the issue. Good luck.

  20. What everyone is trying to say: Using the forsaken king set + kiels outweighs the sprint set with 4 silver kiels by far. As you'd only use 3 headgear slots instead of 4, have more survivability and better bonusses through the stats the FSet gives and have more card slots available due to the double slots in each FSet item. All those outweigh the sprint set with silver kiel cards, which also don't stack apparently. Some people stated that being vulnerable to status effects and/or easily caught off-guard due to not being able to see cloaked people is another thing. But that rather depends on the class you're playing and your reaction time.

The lack of health and the fact you'll have to resort to different headgear (Loli/Magic Eyes Hat for example) which removes the bonuses from the Forsaken Set, thus less health and stats and no freeze immunity. Besides those hats having 1 slot less. A very thorough and good suggestion has been made in the past by Shadi, which you can find here. There he detailed quite a few things that should be brought to attention when you focus on improving the wizard class. Edit: Shadi replied before I finished this.
