  1. Hmm, farming areas similar to what we have yet only for people with non-donation and non-custom equips (with the exception of the beginners set if it's implemented). Something similar to the fire armor, some seeds maybe... things that can be converted into tix and sold to others. Of course this area shouldn't be pvp if you want it newbie friendly. Maybe even some of the items for elite quest? Btw I like how fast ppl replied, gives me hope lol
  2. I kind of like this. I truthfully feel that one of the biggest things hindering new players from staying is the current players playing. I'm not trying to generalize everyone but few current experienced players are willing to take their time to help out new people (I'm not talking about giving out items). Just being friendly, making conversation, and giving some tips helps a lot guys. The only reason I'm here is because people I first met were nice enough to tell me how pvp works and what kind of items I should try to get... so I try to do the same for others. Giving people without gear a way to accumulate items would help I think. A none-donation / none-custom item farming area would be nice I think.... if it is possible.
  3. Ahh, I see what you meant now. Buffing the weapons is definitely an easier option to scripting. I don't mean to make suggestions that are borderline impossible or have detrimental side effects so if that's the case we can scrap the buffing of the skills thing... :( I really like how you guys followed the outline for elite and rental weapons to develop the donation weapons. Is it possible to do the reverse for Priests seeing how they only have one elite weapon and it doesn't really help that much? I haven't had the opportunity to see the new Highness Staff in action, much less test it out, so I can not accurately suggest a change yet. I do, however, think we could take the new donation weapons as the outline for elite weapons. I feel a Mace and a Wand/Staff would be suiting. The Mace could follow the Strike Eagle format as an offensive weapon and the Wand/Staff could follow the Highness Staff format as a healing and support weapon. I'll try to find someone ingame with the Highness Staff in order to make more accurate suggestions :) PS: Thanks for your input Veracity.
  4. Hmm, that's so odd because Int increases heal but only specific things (Bacsojin/Recovery staff) increase Sanctuary. I believe you though... I don't know much about the actual game mechanics. I guess it is hard to buff it without overpowering Heal though... Making heal really powerful isn't SO bad though... as most people use yggs it would just take out yggs for one class. It's always easier to ygg than heal anyway, you don't have to target with yggs lol. The only major problems I could see would be with ganging and heal increasing for champions too. I feel heal and sanctuary need boosts at their very core as a skill though. I really appreciate the items you guys developed, and I think they are good, but I feel the skills themselves need to be boosted.
  5. Well, the new donation weapons for Priest look pretty cool. Strike Eagle (High Priest only) Effect: Increase damage on demi humans by 30%, 5% chance of auto casting Kyrie Eleison when receiving physical damage, MATK + 25% Holy Light + 10% damage Int + 25, Str + 20, Dex + 20, Max HP + 25% 5% chance of casting level 1 Lex Aeterna on an enemy when doing Physical Attack - Highness Staff (High Priest, Soul Linker, Wizard, Professor Only) Effect: For Priest: Decrease cast delay by -20% Increase Heal by 50% and Sanctuary by 50% Max SP + 10% Enlarge Weight Limit Lv. 5-10 + 20% hp 1% chance of auto casting Kyrie Eleison when receiving physical damage. I've ordered the Strike Eagle, so I'll be testing it out and can provide some feedback. I would really like it if someone with Highness Staff could provide some feedback... If they are not willing to test it fully then I will for them... Honestly though, I don't know anyone with the staff. +50% Heal and Sanctuary still seems low to me, but I guess it's still to early to speak as I have not really seen it in action. I'm still pushing for more Elite weapons for the Priest class though. Just the book is not enough nor is it fair in comparison to the other classes. I also am still pushing for a general boost in Heal and Sanctuary. The Emp has 250m hp now and even with the Highness Staff and 4 bacsojins there's no way sanctuary is exceeding 4-5k (if that)... which is really nothing if the Emp has 250m Hp.
  6. I agree with Ryuk. You have to keep in mind that we have a limited amount of people developing things with a limited amount of time they can spend. I think they should be focusing their time on more important things than this. I don't think it's a horrible idea... if this were iRO or something then it would be more do-able.
  7. I can see your point but I don't think they should be put in the Forsaken Kings room. The items (from what I understand) are meant to spark donations while meeting players half way with suggested class balancing changes. Again, that is my personal interpretation. Putting them in the Forsaken Kings room would defeat half the purpose of the weapons: Donations. Maybe once they are widespread and the price of all the weapons levels out to 300, but as of right now I think it's best to keep them the way they are. And at players talking about quantity discounts for the weapons: $30 is the price for a reason. People will buy them at that price so there is no reason to provide a discount while demand is high. Maybe later on when demand isn't as high and they would like to spark donations again they could have some sort of discount time period. Zodiacs had a discount to stimulate demand (demand wasn't as high because people had alternatives such as ROP and Emp). $30 for the weapons is the best way to raise funding for the server at the moment.
  8. Sorry but I have to disagree with making the Elite Weapons npc items. It would almost defeat the entire purpose of the quest. The weapons are the #1 reason for doing the quests really... the extra stats don't do much and the armor sets are usually just sold for zeny. Also, the donation weapons are not widespread enough yet to completely diminish the value of the elites. Even when they are widespread the Elites do not need to be npc vended. They are stepping stones in character advancement. You get lvl 255, do the elite quests and get gear then advance further to a point where you can buy Forsaken Kings set / donation belts. The next advancement is buying rentals. At the moment, the last advancement would be to the donation weapons.
  9. Read previous posts... all the bows are one handed but the demi-human reductions don't stack with some other reduction items. From what I understand they will stay on the website as donations only. I don't think there is a time limit. Oh and I really like the sprite choices for all of the new weapons (especially the Priest Scythe! Can't wait for mine).

    This or that

Ants Green Power Ranger or Red Power Ranger?
  11. Me either. Is the stalker bow one handed? Btw I like the update, good work guys!

  13. As I said before, I would really rather we stick to the classes core efficiencies rather than augmenting it to make it something that it is not meant to be. Instead of making a kiting/damage class a tanking class why don't we just stick with boosting it's kiting and damage dealing abilities? You have suggested multiple legitimate ways to boost damage, but have kind of left it's range/kiting abilities out (with the exception of helping traps). I didn't think about it until Nines said something about it but we could definitely give them more than one (two handed) bow for the forsaken elite quest. As you've mentioned: you can't really kill people with a dagger... so why not give them more than one bow? A bow that boosts walking speed, range, hp, and some resistance to demi humans is much more fitting than a one handed bow to me. Maybe give it a chance at auto-casting arrow repel while attacking? A good offensive bow and a good defensive bow would maybe balance the class without deviating from what it is really meant to be. I agree with Supream that the class is not meant for tanking. I understand and agree that our server REALLY revolves around high damage output and damage reductions, but I can not agree with changing a class from what it was originally meant for.... Lastly: We can not compare/contrast a katar'ed sinx to a sniper with a bow. The classes are meant for two completely different things and their skills are no where near similar.

Yea voting on multiple accounts but with the same IP would do nothing. If you go anywhere with a different IP then vote on a different account. People have so many alt accounts here it makes it possible for them to vote multiple times a day. I vote at work and home and anywhere else there are public computers lol.

    Sprite Edit

Yea, SinX editors tend to be a bigger pain than Clown/Gypsys for me.... I feel your pain Som. It's a challenge for me to tank a SinX editor even with 450-600k hp and usak.... All they do is stand and spam and all you can do is run away or spam YGGs. If they ever get Paladin buff, you're toast. I really wonder if the hot PvP zones and PvP arena are monitored by GMs... I mean it's not hard to catch them in person, but it can be difficult to capture and report it accurately on the forum. Some people can't run fraps and programs like it in order to report these people. Is there no way to counter this crap with the patcher? It also blurs the lines between those who are legitimately good and those who cheat. Legit people get blamed of editing and editors get away with it because people just think they're good.

I edited the original post to add some more specifics (item requirements/time limit). If anyone disagrees with what I've listen please let me know and why you disagree. I think this arena would also make for fun guild events. Thanatos card could be added to the guild "drop list" and the whole guild could party up to spawn/kill Thanatos. This will promote more guild activity and possibly more loyal guild membership. Let me know what you guys think.
  17. Your base int is 300? I would say decrease that and add vit. Profs do a lot of damage because of double bolt and about 230-270 base int should be enough to drop someone without GTB. You may also want to buy some vit belts to be able to switch around and tank better if you need to. Get an alt weapon for stripping shield. You could try builds with mix belts or find some cards that increase bolt damages. I know not everyone does this, but I try to put a little more dex than instant cast on my characters. I do this so that if I am ever stripped or equips are broken I will still have instant cast. (So about 160-170 dex total)
  18. I'll start by saying I love to see different classes used and be useful in general. It really gets boring seeing the same classes use the same strategies over and over so I'm all for helping out a class if it will be used more. 1. I see no real harm in this, but you are kind of stacking a couple damage boosting suggestions so maybe only increase a bit. 2. I agree with Snap and Magnum break, but not Backslide. Crippling snap a bit would help in woe defense. The Swordsman class is already a tank class and is capable of nerfing long range damage(Pala) or zooming in close with charge attack (LK). However, I do have to disagree on backslide as I consider the thief branches more evasive oriented. They are meant to be able to get out of sticky situations and I feel a Sniper's trap is one of those situations. 3. I see no problem with this. There's always FCP. 4. Like I said before, you're stacking damage boosting suggestions... individually they may not seem like much but together they can add up. I would think the GMs would test these percentages and damage outputs before implementation anyway. I'm neutral. 5. Agreed. What is a "Sniper" that can't hit his target? Useless, that's what. 6. Sure, more variability in builds and strategy. 7. Strongly disagree. As mentioned, there are already 1 handed bows from the rental npc. I imagine that this weapon and the Gunslinger Gun are probably the top rented items from this NPC and if the Elite bow is made one handed then you are kind of defeating the purpose of the renter. In my opinion it's meant as a coupon sink that gives players with spare coupons a slight upper hand if they pay for it.... I don't agree with a one handed bow in general, much less as the elite weapon. I think it defeats the purpose of the class in some ways. A Sniper/Hunter/Archer class is NOT meant for tanking. They are supposed to be "glass cannons" meaning they have a high damage output with low defense capabilities all the while keeping their opponent at a range. If you want to boost the Elite Bow I suggest looking into the point of the class more. Giving them a longer range, for one thing, would be much more appropriate I feel. If you keep your enemy away from you, you won't have to tank anything. This is all my opinion... if yours differs thats fine... just hope I helped.
  19. I try to vote from work and from home everyday. If you guys ever go anywhere with public computers (Library/Cafe/Restaurants/Bars) or open wireless (McDonalds, etc..) remember to vote. Even the liquor store in my town has a public computer (It's meant for looking up drink recipes, but you can vote.)

    Bank Npc

Oh, I definitely agree that there are more important things to work on. Like I said in my first post: I believe there is an already existing script/npc out there for this. I was just wondering if it could be implemented and if not then that's fine. This is definitely not a top of the to-do list suggestion. It's just something I thought all players would appreciate being implemented.

As for the time limit, it seems that it should be around 30-45 mins. I'm thinking the max time limit should be around 45 mins... Meaning if you can't kill it within 45 minutes you will be kicked from the room and the mvp will be removed. Also, maybe the outside npc should have a way to telling people waiting how much longer the wait could be. Well, if we make it Donation Coupons then it will help newer players because they tend to be the ones farming for coupons. Older and wealthier players will benefit from this as well because they tend to have a lot more coupons. I also like the idea of keeping the quest items... Maybe like 1/3 or 1/2 the normal amount (because you will be using coupons in addition to this). This will also boost the market value of the quest items, giving people another way to farm and make money if they want. How about a combination such as: 3 Event Coupon, 5 Donation Coupons and 1/3 the normal quest item amounts. This way you spread out the costs and retain the usefulness of the event coupon. Any comments? There's no way of telling how many times you have to kill it to get the card. You could get it the 1st time or the 10,000th time.

Yea guys, please actually vote for the server. I have a quick question though: Does Gamesites and Xtremetop allow us to vote every 12 hours or every 24 hours? I thought it was every 12 hours but our vote links only lets us do it every 24? Just a bit confused.

  24. Wow, it's really hard for me to pick one because most of my favorite characters are based off of real people so I wouldn't consider them truly fictional. I'm going to go with either Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden or Heath Ledger's adaptation of the Joker.
