Aerofox Posted June 21, 2014 Report Posted June 21, 2014 agree... this server only needs 1 pvp room map due to players population.. True. Considering 1/5 of the people online everyday are just AFK, it'll be a perfect idea.
ThePerfectHit Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 I also suggest when you enter the pvp ladder room it dispels you, takes away x2, fcp, every buff/debuff.
Rayray Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 I also suggest when you enter the pvp ladder room it dispels you, takes away x2, fcp, every buff/debuff. Doesn't it dispell every buff except FCP already? We had a few months of having FCP dispelled from the room, a lot of people didn't like it and I kinda see the point. From those months, the number of people laddering on stalker reached sky high. I don't mind it dispelled or not, but that is because I main bio, so it doesn't matter, but the rest of the community will deem it unfair.

That's fine I understand, but no it doesn't already dispel everything but FCP. You're allowed to get x2 then go into room.
Forum~ Posted June 22, 2014 Author Report Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) Good call al3c and Rayray. Okay, so I've compiled the course of our discussion for ease-of-reading. This is the current state of this suggestion: 1. Re-enabling parties in PvP room (still up for discussion). I am for it because PvP ladder was more active when it was allowed in the past and we all know how dead it is right now. Veracity was pushing to make ladder more active in our previous talks and I strongly believe this will remedy it. >SUCCESS as of latest update! Thanks! This and the Happy Hour should definitely increase activity :) 2. Warping in is done via NPC and warping out is disabled to prevent players from running when they're about to lose. Logging out will take you out of the map. I have decided that warping in via @warp should not be allowed to accommodate the next point... 3. Upon clicking the NPC and warping in, all buffs are dispelled except for FCP. 4. All forms of resurrection in PvP room where kills count are disabled. This includes the Resurrect skill from Priest, Yggdrasil leaf, Kaizel, and upon Super Novice's first death, they should be warped out (much like in GvG, BR, or LMS) (this list of resurrecting is not all inclusive though I can't name any more off the top of my head). A typical feeder will exploit any form of resurrection to get kills. It is a no-brainer that resurrecting in a place where increasing your kill count is the sole goal should never be allowed. >SUCCESS (though indirectly, nevertheless...) as of latest update! Thanks! 5. Disable storaging. Or else groups can easily stay in there indefinitely. PvP room has always had this disabled. The new town maps are actually bugged in this regard. This will benefit the idea for 7. below. 6. Only the small, square PvP room counts for ladder. MOST IMPORTANT. In fact, if any change should come out of this suggestion, this one should be it. Read arguments made on previous posts for in-depth rationale as to why this is favorable. >SUCCESS as of latest update! Thanks! 7. The town maps will still exist but kills there will not count towards PvP ladder because of their absurd size and because of how exploitable hiding is on those maps. PvP laddering should hardly involve extensive hiding forcing one group to engage in hide-and-seek. That's not PvPing. These maps can have all the same conditions as the actual PvP room so that individuals can host PvP events and ensure that storaging (which is otherwise, dishonorable in a duel) and warping are disabled. I know some guild leaders would like to host events and maps such as these would be helpful. >SUCCESS... though this change would have been best complemented with @storage being disabled. New ideas: 8. Player count in the map should be displayed via @ or / command or a visual UI icon off to the side. I believe this is possible since the NPC itself shows you how many people there are and I've heard from other players that something like this is available in the official RO (displaying player count). 9. Drawing inspiration from how for_fild01 broadcasts kills locally, PvP ladder should also broadcast all kills on a delegated map or on something like "Battle Chat". I've chosen this broadcast to be on a separate map or in "Battle Chat" so that it doesn't flood the normal chat box. That way, ladder participants can keep track of their competition and also watch for feeding (which I'm sure the GM team already watches out for via their log). This will serve as a very real and obvious deterrence against feeders. I mean right now, despite GMs keeping a log, I've heard many times from my associates that feeders are still rampant. We need a very obvious and clear method to deter against this and tell feeders that it will be very obvious when they feed if they choose to do so. Of course, we will keep the current PvP ladder broadcasts that are global whenever a player is about to increase in rank. 10. Any other ideas TBD. Further discuss and contribute below. Remember, I have created this suggestion with the intention to make PvP ladder fairer, more active, and to deter against feeders. Counterarguments against any of these points should be reasoned with this in mind. Please note, these may still be subject to change. We will see how they go, and continue making improvements from there after a week or two.Given this qualifier attached to the latest update, this suggestion is still up in the air.
