  1. Happy Birthday! P.S. Shipped you a male chip n' dale. Should have me by Friday.
  2. Hope what I said didn't come across wrong. I don't mean in any way to demean those champs who had thana. Crono, Arcanum, Limit, Vortex, etc... I've fought them on numerous occasions, and they are all very skilled. They swap well, adapt fast, and are solid players. Just saying, the thana nerf doesn't necessarily kill the class and might be warranted for now, until maybe other classes can get the same kinda beefing or something along those lines.
  3. My 2 cents, not that it matters. I'm going with the side that thana nerf is okay (at least for now), no offense to my many friends who are supporting the other side. Although it takes out one available dynamic to the class, in terms of "balance," it's just simply more reasonable at the moment. 1. Saying that thana nerf ruins the class just doesn't make sense in light of the fact that 95-99% of the populace doesn't even have thana to begin with. It's like saying the rest of the server can never effectively pvp on champ, period (because they could never use it to begin with). Side rebuttal: [i kinda get Pete's argument of "only 3 champs can be called good", and in looking at those cases, there are no more "good" champs anymore cause of nerf? (hope im not misunderstanding). It's basically saying, "yea, 99% of the server DOESN'T pvp effectively" in response to above. But such a statement also implies that thana is a considerable reason why you guys are at the top if you look at it the other way around (which also argues for the other side). Personally, I know that's not true. You guys are skilled for many more reasons than just that. My belief is that you guys could easily remain at the top of the champ class even without thana.] 2. I don't think people are being too wrong when they talk about one shotting. Someone who can effectively switch between thana TSS, full asura, and coma can slice through people like butter. Champs are the only class with a reliable one hit kill (even against people in GR). Every other class could thana you, and force you into skolls, yet not monopolize on the fact that you aren't in immunes anymore. Sure AD and sacrifice can do a little more damage, but if the opponent has GR, they can still survive. Against a champ, if you can't be in full reduction, it just means you lost instantly. Champs have so many skills going for them (SNAP in and away from combat easily, root denies melee coma so you can stay in usakoring, a great ranged skill and a dangerous one hit damage nuke, pps, etc). 3. I do enjoy the deadly battles against arcanum, crono, limitless and other skilled, thana-using, champs. I feel pvp would be more challenging, fast paced, and more complex if we could have more classes deadly like this. Less battles where both have to just milk berries till one runs out, the better (more dynamics = less boring). But the fact of the matter is, at the moment, there is only one class that benefits this greatly from one card. My posts are always too long. I don't expect anyone to read. =P

Finals are pretty much over. Have a little more time to play.
  7. It would help the economy because Hrist would purchase it.... all the time. *jokes* Part 1: Supply and Demand - There is a good supply of MVP cards, Tickets, etc. sold from players - There is a good market for MVP cards, Tickets, etc bought by players This equals good economic pricing on those items (balance between the two parties, trying to make/save money; stable pricing) - competition compels the prices lower, greed compels the prices higher = equilibrium at a reasonable price Part 2: Money in the Economy - People are earning coupons faster than they are spending coupons as a population in general (more coupons out of thin air via events/gvg/donators versus outlets via NPCs and/or dispersion to new players) *** This equals more people with a greater number of coupons in their pockets Fact: more people are able and willing to pay in the thousands of coupons for an item in high demand than before When something in low supply is being sold, MORE people now have deeper pockets to drive the prices of those items up (thana used to be sold for 1k; now is being sold for 3k+). [This does not effect items in plenty of supply because competitors keep the prices in check. Why pay 50 for a kiel when you know there is someone who can sell it to you for 35 (even though you have more coupons than before to purchase it)] Part 3: The goal of my whole suggestion - Trying to keep the value of the coupon from dropping too low. The value of donating decreases with the decline of the coupon value. 100$ for 1400 coupons now isnt worth as much as 1400 coupons back then. At the moment, it's not bad. But if the trend gets much more significant, 1400 may not be worth much in the future. If people begin bidding 5k on stuff - 500$ for a thana or woe item plox (in essence)? It's not trying to get people to donate any more than before, but rather trying to keep the value of the donation coupon consistent / in check.
  8. It wouldn't raise the cost of items... What he is saying is raises the value of the coupon. Meaning: 1 qpon = 25 mil zenny right now raises in value .... 1 qpon = 50 mil zenny
  9. Yes, releasing new items like transparent wings are GOOD. Gives people with coupons an outlet to spend on, and Gen has been really on top of this. What I am suggesting is ANOTHER avenue to help the economy in a similar fashion (not meaning to discount the good that is already being done, just augment/supplement it). Wings = instant one time 100 coupon purchase (whenever it's released) Consumables = steady stream of 1-2 coupon purchases (for those who want to pay for the luxury item/convenience) I don't think it's gonna be as crazy an impact as you guys imagine. Status foods as an example: if you're rich, you might consider the convenience and benefit of buying status foods from an NPC for a coupon price. If you're poor, you won't waste the coupons (plain and simple). Otherwise, you can spend the time farming/cooking it up yourself. Like a Quickie Mart store, you pay for the convenience. Similarly, I always saw donations as a means of convenience. You can earn coupons for months, or pay for the instantaneous convenience of coupons without labor. It's not going to crazily deflate the coupon (simply because it would dispense non-necessity/luxury items - when people don't have the coupons, they wont spend it on these). Instead, I am thinking that it might help curb the amount of coupons of the upper class, sitting on 2k+, amassing coupons with little to nothing to spend it on. It's not a problem yet, but if it ever gets top heavy with more and more people sitting on lots of coupons with nothing to spend on, that's when inflation will occur.
  10. Hence why the key to this suggestion is properly choosing what items for the NPC to dispense. Obviously, EDP and YGGs are not wise choices because it overlaps and inhibits the sales that are already being taken care of by the players. Status foods, on the other hand, take a LOT of effort to make. It's simply not worthwhile for people to make and sell because people will pay more for YGGs (the payoff for work is considerably better in YGG sales). But maybe if it was available by an NPC, some of the people with an excess of coupons would be willing to spend a little to gain that little edge in pvp, thus reducing the amount of people with lots of extra coupons in their pockets with nothing to spend on. - more coupons wasted overall = less coupons in people's pocket - less coupons in the economy will drive the value of the coupon/dollar back up (perhaps this is not needed right now because the value of the coupon is still pretty good as it stands now?). Edit: also stuff like "status food" would be a luxury item. People will STILL buy berries from players over this type of item any day of the week. It just gives an avenue of expenditure for the people with more than enough coupons.
  11. Yep, agree completely. Servers doing great in general on all accounts. Just tossing out an idea as it came to my head that I thought might be beneficial or worth considering.
  12. lol? FCP scrolls was an EXAMPLE (something that people would actually consume coupons for on a regular basis). Note in my last sentence (CONTROVERSY ABOUT FCP SCROLLS ASIDE - it was used as an example). I have plenty of FCP scrolls, and that's besides the point of this topic. Ignoring the flames, YES the main source of coupon consumption for vet players is YGGs sold by newer players (which I already stated) - you are not understanding what I said in paragraph two. But those means of consumption are supplied by NEW players. The coupon is not drained out of the economy, it stays in the economy on another player. It only drains out when that new player buys an F.set from the donation NPC (poof, those coupons are gone). I once sold tons of YGG's to get coupons for MVP cards/f.sets. But once I had everything I needed, I no longer had the need to farm for other people. What happens if there are no new players? What happens if everyone eventually gets the f.sets and MVP cards they need? You have a ton of people amassing coupons and spending a grip load whenever something "new" is released. What I was suggesting is another avenue of more coupon expenditure by the populace that does not rely on something like new players and farmers. If anything, having more than one "sink" to the economy (both sellers of YGGs + a NPC with consumables) might more effectively alleviate future inflation.
  13. "Consumables" NPC that sells useful consumables for a fair coupon price... Ex: - Status foods ? - FCP scrolls ? - Elemental Converters? - <insert other ideas here> Reasoning - We have a good influx of coupons flowing into the economy (i.e. donators, events, gvg), but the main sources to drain these coupons back out of the economy are non-consumable (i.e. forsaken set). Once everyone has a forsaken set and the MVP cards they need, what do they do with their coupons? Inflation occurs because they will have lots of extra coupons and nothing else to spend it on. This is shown by the richer people spending thousands of coupons on a Rucksack, for example. What is keeping the economy going well at fRO? New players and new useful items. New players act as the coupon sink because they sell berries, edp, other consumable type items and in turn use earned coupons for f.sets/MVP cards they don't have. As long as there is a constant influx of new players, there will always be people selling berries/etc. to older players and buying f.sets (thus draining the coupons back out of the economy). New items similarly give us reason to spend coupons, however this idea requires the constant production of better and better items (e.g. dragon aura => moon/sun aura => emp aura => better aura? or no one will buy it). To aid in this theory, I am suggesting a consumable NPC that does not rely on the influx of new players. For it to work, it has to contain USEFUL items that people would actually buy. I mean, we have bloody branches, but no one buys them because it's simply a waste of coupons unless you want some amusement. Status foods / FCP scrolls are worthy items people would consistently buy, keeping coupons in the RO economy lower, and prices from skyrocketing (controversy on the FCP scrolls aside - just using as an example).
  14. That's because I was the only member for most of it's existence. We did win GvG once though. We have acquired a few more members yesterday, so ask anyone in the guild for invite if you see them. I'll be on this weekend due to veterans day holiday, and probably on for Thanksgiving holiday also. We'd be happy to have you, Shawn. You're a celeb; you'll instantly draw new members. Edit: 3 GvG wins, W00t
  15. Join me! I'm in a similar boat as you. Currently on break due to being extremely busy with full time work and school. I'll be back in December after finals... BUT I still can't be completely active due to work + girlfriend. I could use a nice, stable person to help with a chill, no pressure guild. [Attend when you can, have-fun focused guild] http://forum.forsaken-ro.net/index.php?showtopic=6486 Disregard all the rules on that link, I threw them out. As for "Active"... it's just me at the moment. But if you're interested in helping me build it up, the offer is open. I'll be working on "up'ing" the guild when I return.
  16. Sard is abandoning his emo black and going for the pimp/fob/ugly (whatever you wanna call it) gold look! What I need: Golden Valk Helmet Golden Wings (pvp) Send me a PM via forums or reply to this thread. Also Selling: +0 Green butterfly wings +0 Red butterfly wings +0 Deviling wings +10 Elite Paladin Spears x5 Hwiz card 200 event coupons
  17. Is there no way where it can be changed to sub class, not trans class? I.E. both pali/lk elite weapons can be used by swordsman classes, etc.? I used both pali and lk spears in the past to help alleviate the pressure of switching. But now being limited to only one weapon, scrolling through 5 of them is kinda hard on one hotkey. Also, LK spears are freaking HEAVY. There is no way I am gonna be able to effectively carry my normal weapon set. This leaves me one option... I could go to normal pikes to handle the weight problem. BUT then that'd be like not using the benefit of elites at all, hence the rant. Now im stuck with 5+ pali spears I can't use, what a waste... We'll I'm still on break till December. School and my PA applications are going well. I'm looking forward to coming back soon. /rant
  18. Don't worry Aso, I'm working up those 10k coupons. =P MSN: [email protected] AIM: sarduarkar Yea, I know, I'm pretty simplistic... I may not be on very often due to my hectic schedule though.
  19. <3 you guys. No worries, I'll be back in like 4 months or so... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me make it into PA school! *prays*
  20. I am working full time during the day, going to school full time at night, TA'ing for anatomy on the weekends, and furiously studying and completing my applications for PA school in the spare time left over. I think I need to cut out games and extracurriculars for a while, at least until the Fall semester is over. Then I'll play my heart out till I eventually get accepted. Btw, still B>thana (so I can mess around when I do come back) :) I'll be perusing the forums at work every once in a while.
  21. Returning the favor... bump. Also B> Flapping Dev. Wings as well... but I probably wont pay you more than Asobark. XD

  23. Psh, LKs for the win! But more seriously, if you're crazy about "fast dmg," go with sinx or gunslinger.
