One problem is that the it's the same people who participate and win, and even when other less known people participate, they rarely win. There's no incentive to even try for them.

Actually, The GM team was quite lenient with their members early on, then got stricter around Shield's time and when I became one he upheld that authority and the team was marvelous. He was hard assed and my generation learned the strict ways. No GM participated in their own events and we were much better for it. You can't just say you're allowed to participate because the alternative means very little participation; get players motivated, that's also your jobs. If you want to participate, then you should refrain from judging and get a guest judge to replace you that week.

No, I'm playing the role of a Senior GM and I'm telling you judges should not participate. But it's your guy's little thing and you can run it how you want unless I or another GM really says no to something. But I'm telling you now players will not appreciate a judge participating in their own competition, and between the five of you, one of you will win at least half of the time (I'm going off of previous SOTW's). Then you'll get rumors about cheating and being unfair. Yeap GM's participate in their own events now, and it never used to be this way. And as you can see by the current GM team it's not doing so well, maybe because some are more interested in themselves than entertaining the community. It never used to be this way, and Game Masters could never participate in their own event except GvG. I would know, I enforced this, and we were much better off.

Judges never participate in the competition and as a general rule in society is seen as unfair to do so. Do Game Masters participate in their own events? Not if they want to keep GMing :P

1. Absolutely not. 2. Ethereal, Jay, Pat, Cassiopeia, Nyanko as far as I know. The GM team is too irregular to have every GM as a judge, so you can have guest judges for specific weeks. 3. If the rules aren't posted, don't use them. 4. Whatever makes your lives happier, easier and less complicated. Just make sure you follow through with your decisions. Whether or not you guys are friends or that this forum is hidden, you shouldn't be calling each other vulgar names. Whether you think so or not, you're part of the Fro Staff in your specific capacity, and you should show it. Hard assed but there it is.

Just to run it by everyone who is thinking of applying, we really need some super dedicated GM's for a long haul. I don't mean complete burnout, I mean a few who will really stick around and become experienced to this server, because atm we're at two extremes; seniors and very new GM's and nothing in between. I main paladin so I won't vote against any pro modifications on them. But, a good paladin should have no trouble devoing at least two high target players in a pvp situation. It's natural for us to get one hit sometimes if the person we're helping doesn't put on reducts, that's what our class is.

Oh dear...that would be because those were supposed to be the recolors, but changing a few colors in their color tables made them funky in game and they weren't usable.

I've already arranged xmas vote items, the rest is up to the devs. Last year we gave out 5 santa bags in addition to the regular coupons to event winners. We don't want to dish out coupons or items, or we won't have a very happy New Year.

Well, unfortunately many newcomers give the polite ones a bad rep. I can't remember a time recently where I cold sit in fcity without being asked for some items. The natural thing for many geared players to do is to ignore new people since they almost always get beggars. The way to get around this is to act very differently, catch someone's attention, and your fro social life will take off. Being female helps as well. Oh and be persistent, without spamming or rudeness. Just make your presence known and that you don't want free stuff but that you'd like answers or help or just an actual conversation.

Spriting is recoloring? LOL ok...fyi the halloween rucksacks were sprited by me, and so were the xmas ones coming out. I have many more complex sprites collecting dust on my hardrive, because they won't save on ActOR, so YES, I know what spriting is. And I'm above posting them anywhere on these forums for ego's sake because people steal. Recoloring is giving a new color to an existing item. Everyone and their bloody great grandmother can recolor. Spriting is making a completely new item from scratch. I've made wings, I've made auras, and I'm making very detailed headgears. If you find I'm rude, I'll apologize in advance, because I am nowhere near in the proper state of mind to diplomatically take this sort of post from anyone. Not only are monsters different to sprite, but working with our coders to perfect his skills is extremely challenging. You find me someone who is willing to even try this, and we'll talk. For now this project is on hold because I've got much better things I need to be doing than creating complex pixelated fantasy things for very ungrateful people.

But yes, Euo WoE was supposed to be Eurasian WoE, though many people contest that lividly. I don't care if we remove a castle from American WoE and make it a separate Asian WoE, but this is something we'd likely want a vote on, to ensure maximum cooperation and happiness from players.
