  1. That doesn't help for this problem. It lies in how Windows recognizes RO. Thanks for trying to help though :)
  2. I notified Genesis about this. This shouldn't happen indeed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  3. It will decrease the time spend on the same monster for different items. If it is a stackable item there already is a trick for getting multiple items (filling inventory with zero weight items). The convenience is rather for unstackable items such as equipment. The beneficiary are the ones who put time and effort in hunting, these people already are the ones who spend a lot of time hunting with the current command. These people are usually the hardworkers who want to work their way up (most of them aren't considered rich). The way I see it is that it'll provide new players and farmers/hunters in general as the beneficiary group. As the products become more available the economy might stabilize too. In short, I disagree with your statement.

  6. I'm with Bishop too. The @alootid array up to 5 items would seem sufficient to me. About the MvP room, I think the drop chance in there is 1% (read it somewhere in the update section) as you can purchase the MvP at will (though restricted to a timer), which defeats the purpose of hunting, competition etc. That's why I that drop rate is justified. As for example Kiel, 75M is about 3 tokens, selling Kiel would yield approximately 80-90 tokens. You can try 25 times to get a card and still make profit. The story line quests provide with items that are better than default donations, however, having one of the donation items can be a requirement. These can be obtained by collecting enough tokens so you can trade them for the gears. Then there's also the Forsaken King set (no idea where the Forsaken Soldier and Forsaken MvP Soldier sets went, they were pretty nice too). Nothing is for donators only, everything can be obtained through trading, PvPing, GvG and/or WoE.
  7. I am sorry for the redundancy, just wanted to make sure you've tried all options when it comes to that. Which anti-virus are you running? It might cause a problem because those programs sometimes get a false positive from the RO executables. Try adding them to the safelist of your anti-virus. I'll look for an OpenSetup meanwhile, might help also. Can try the following too: 1. Run Regedit (start -> regedit or start -> run -> regedit or windows+R -> regedit) 2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gravity Soft\Ragnarok For 32bit systems, or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Gravity Soft\Ragnarok (You should only have either or anyways, so check both if you're unsure which operating system you're running). 3. Navigate to Gravity Soft, and click on the Ragnarok folder. From there on, you should see a list of keys on the right. Find the one that says HEIGHT and WIDTH, right click, and click modify. After that, Make sure Decimal is checked off, and change it to the resolution you want. Here's the link for OpenSetup
  8. Hello Matrograd, I had the issue a little while too. What solved it for me was using Windows XP (SP3) as compatibility mode and not run it as administrator. The Forsaken Client had to be run as administrator and in compatibility mode. However, I am using Windows 8 pro, so it might differ from you. Before it worked straight out of the box, but it didn't after a reboot, so perhaps try rebooting and then adjust these settings. Also a windows firewall message might pop-up, accept the access they request then. Another thing might be updating your graphic card drivers from nvidia themselves, usually windows just installs 'a driver' for you, but stick to the original software instead. Hope this will help you out a little.
  9. Please login on the control panel: http://forsaken-ro.net/cp There you can go to your account and reset your character position after you've clicked on the character you want to set free. Before logging into the game, launch the patcher to be sure you're up-to-date. If you're still stuck, download the small installer (https://forsaken-ro.net/downloads/). After that is done, patch again and if the problem still persists, come back :)

  11. I assume that the fourth suggestion is to update to Renewal/current RO updated status. If that is the case, then both the first and the fourth suggestion are renewal related. I'll try to elaborate why this isn't easy to do or even an option that has been considered but not carried out yet. For the first suggestion, a new client would have to be created. Sadly the way we use the client and the files that come with the client are uniquely coded. This way of coding isn't available anymore for the renewal clients. What does this mean? All customs (mobs and items) which were indirectly linked to the client aren't linked anymore. A whole new system of adding the customs would have to be created, setup and converted from our current database. Because such a tool doesn't exist, all the customs would have to manually be converted. This isn't worth the gain. In the past (about... 2? years ago) I have successfully created a renewal client and logged in to the game, but it ended there. Nothing was usable, the way maps were displayed were off. Skills weren't recognized and nothing worked the way it should have been. Having looked at the current progress, not much has changed and actually most of the development on those kind of game clients is dead on eAthena. I think jAthena was making small steps forward though.. Might all sound a litlle... yea not completely structured, but I hope I got the message across. So because of this, upgrading the client isn't an option (at the moment!) For the server upgrade, some of the explanation above applies here as well. Because the improvements and mechanics and all that comes with the gameplay of the classes, skills, usage of items and all that aren't completely working yet, it isn't favorable to migrate to a renewal system model yet. It already is very generous of Genesis and the other staff members to provide the community as much of renewal as possible by customizing the content and implementing this. But because a class balance has yet to be obtained in Renewal (without high stats), it would naturally snowball even harder on a server with high rates and stats. Due to the attempt to preserve the balance in this server, the migration to renewal isn't an option either. At least, not now or the few months coming, but will be in the future for sure. Knowing how things go, everything will be done to make it possible, so don't worry about that! The other suggestions have been enlighted fairly by Bishop.
  12. The programs you are referring to are packet modifiers and sadly they are hard to be excluded. It is forbidden to use them, but sadly can't be easily confirmed if they are used. To set them up is relatively easy and thus they are used by people who don't take legal game play serious. I could think of one way to make it occur less, but it'll be bypassed in no-time. Thanks for your thoughts about this though and the staff is already aware of this for years, but sadly not much can be done at that specific time. Reports and investigations are the only way to cure this. As for the main topic of delaying Desperado spam: the suggestion somewhat is declined already. Try bringing a new constructive suggestion about what you would like to see changed and how it would 'balance' or make up for the current loss. Don't bring up the delay reduction (a paladin's Gospel might help in WoE to reduce this slightly), as I am sure they will factor in all these variables into 'fixing' the Gunslinger class.
  13. Hello thobz, Forsaken-RO doesn't mix well with other servers or the current original KRO files. If you want to play this server with a minimum amount of errors, please download the All-in-one Installer. Install this in a separate folder and don't mix other server files with it, as we're using a different variation than they do (but have certain files that are named the same, hence the errors). Hope this will help.
  14. Hello Eduardo, saw you stalking my profile again.

I'm doing quite well, thanks for asking. Still studying too, it never ends (last year for BSc, might continue for MSc). How about you? Didn't speak to you ever since you went to Finland.

  15. The delay has been increased a few years ago due to a bug with snap asura under certain circumstances. This was abused by those who knew exactly how it worked. There is a work-around for the delay to minimize it, but that is abusing the game mechanics. Because of that, I'm not going into details. The suggestion may be fair, but sadly not an option as to preserve game/pvp balance as much as possible.
  16. The client doesn't allow proxy connections as far as I can remember (I built it in 2008). This may explain why you can't connect, try direct connection or perhaps a VPN (might work) that's located in the USA.
  17. In regards to your greeting, it didn't go unnoticed, I just didn't feel the topic was suitable for a friendly conversation. As such I am now here saying "Hi" in return and somewhat amazed that I am still known by my former colleague(s). If you need anything I'm as willing to help as ever. Ciao.

      Bishop

Glad to see you still around. I've been here for a long time, anyone that would have been around back then would remember you :). If I ever need anything, I'll know where to look :).

  18. As far as I'm aware the Frigg's Shield story line is unique and exact details are not exposed to the community. However you could ask for information in-game from other players or follow the lead-ups that are given by the NPCs to find the monster/item you are looking for! If I also misinterpreted your question, I'm sorry. Good luck on your hunt! = )

    Help!

Going through the old kro+sakray patching technically could work, but with all the changes that Ragnarok Renewal brought, things might error you. As you can't download the files that the server is build for anymore, they are all included in the All-in-One package. This is the only fail-safe way to get it to work. If anything goes wrong, please state what exactly and provide a screenshot of what you see when the error occurred.
  20. A default language switching combination might be the problem/solution to your problem. On most windows operating systems it is (both left-) CTRL+SHIFT, release and you'll be on the other language keyboard setting, can use SHIFT+2 for the @ sign then and switch back. As far as I remember the current client is made for US-international keyboards, which can't be set different in set-up or the client itself. There might be a modification available nowadays, but I've been away from this for too long to provide a direct (client) solution. Hopefully you can figure something out, here's an image of the US-international layout:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/22/KB_US-International.svg Blue is for the Alt-Gr (right ALT) button combinations and pressing Alt-Gr + Shift is for the blue ones on top, if you ever needed to know/use those.
  21. Making spreadsheets always is the first step to managing your own inventory/database of whatever you wish to survey. Probably can be done server side, was just giving a suggestion as an intermediate solution. It requires time and due to the document being available to others, you don't have to update it yourself. A vendor bot could be scripted to record data and put that data on-line in a database too. It would be wise to ask permission for that before you would get (IP) banned for it. This will provide the same functionality as the @at, and is then available even when not in the game (as it's hosted elsewhere). I might be thinking too complicated, but certain solutions could be provided by the players themselves with a little handy work. Anyhow, I'll support the suggestion for simplicity's sake.
  22. The suggestion itself seems decent, but another thing you could do yourself is record data in a spreadsheet and make it organized for yourself. Perhaps even make it an online document (google drive) so people can add new things to it if they wish to collaborate. This is an intermediate solution, which works similar to your suggestion and might even be more visually helpful (if you add maps and POI).
  23. Client side hexing doesn't affect a server side script. Nice try, but no. As zergling stated, the cast effect is random, I explained how to improve the chances/cast speed of Asura. You need both rings for Asura, need red rings for spheres & fury, after you obtained that, equal the blue one too. 100% cast Asura is only performed by a champion or a monk, if you were deluded by other people (trolls) in-game sorry to disappoint you.
  24. It's not the skill that makes the player great, it's the player that makes skills look great. Everything on a sniper is based on how you use the tools you're given, your falcon, your traps, your different bows and accessories, on yourself and on your enemies. I haven't been in the game for a long time, but I doubt any sniper does the sniper slide these days (skid trapping yourself). Try hybrid, get the required armour, cards, accessories and bows to be able to swap from pure FAS to DS and bring the element of surprise called adaptation to circumstances.
  25. Could also see it the other way, the stripping reliant class will evade until the FCP is over. We can't decide beforehand how and with which class people will play, that's why I suggested going in without buffs, else you could also get paladin, creator, priest & soul link buffs before going in. We shouldn't tell people which items to use (more) or what scenario's are going to be played, that's up to the participants. What can be done is making an as fair as possible condition for people to start/join a fight, without giving the more resourceful team (composition) the upper hand by default. I was wondering how players can tag in & out or how that should be implemented? Shout out a name or through some npc script?
