mutilixus Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Hi FRO, I know actions regarding chat spamming has been suggested before but as usual I'm too lazy to dig it up and also I decided to make a formal suggestion about this matter because it gets really really annoying. I will provide a screenshot for you guys to know what I am talking about: I don't like dropping names so i blurred them out but still leaving a few hints that they are just the same person spamming... It's not only annoying because you can't read important stuffs properly (most likely a broadcast), it also ruins your conversation with your friends... So I suggest having a GM Police/Warden/Enforcer/Whatever. I'm not suggesting to hire a new one because obviously there are already a bunch of you guys in the Helpdesk, what I'm suggesting is designating a couple of them to become a police, and just like irl, they have shifts so there would be a certain GM Police watching over everything or at least waiting for someone to complain not just about chat spamming but also scamming, broadcast abuse, verbal abuse, etc. 24/7. Still players have to file a ticket but it would be a big help if they know/tell a person in-charge right away that they have filed a ticket. Now for the punishments... :th_gg: Please take note that these punishments are for less serious offenses only (such as chat/broadcast/verbal abuse, flooding, and harassment) and are not applicable with serious cases. • First Offense: 30 minutes to 1 hour JAIL-TIME... meh... • Second Offense: 5 to 10 hours JAIL-TIME! Aww yess! • Third Offense: 1 to 3 days BANNED... rekt! There is no verbal warning in first offence to prevent abuse because characters, *edit: specially the novice sellers* are easy to be deleted and be replaced with a different name, so a short period of jail time will serve as a remembrance/warning to them. As I see today, our rules and regulations regarding less serious offenses are always taken less seriously... most of the time it's only verbal warning... I think it's time to put a bit of a teeth into our in-game laws to make everyone's experience a more enjoyable one except for the offenders ofc. :th_e4: That would be all for me.. feel free to add some more if you have an idea! Nelly Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 more than 14 row spamming in 12 second. MUTE him from the rest of his ForsakeLife. Lol kidding. Im not sure (im having major amnesia on Ro) I think Ro have "Blacklist/Block"? Nay?
Ares Posted September 15, 2015 Report Posted September 15, 2015 If you check the Rules, it says Intentional Spamming/Broadcast Abuse (To use the broadcaster, public, or private chat to insult other players or annoy the community in general)The use of ASCII/Other methods in order to avoid being banned/punished for broadcast abuse or spamming is strictly prohibited. Spoiler First offense:-Depends on the GM's criteria, if it is blatant or repetitive it will result in an IP Ban and Global account ban. All GMs, especially those who are active in-game, should be on top of this. I literally mute them myself when I caught them spamming. And if they don't stop, I would jail them.
Victoria Posted September 15, 2015 Report Posted September 15, 2015 As addition to what Ares said, we won't need to have a GM Police and such because having it on our Rules already makes it a part of their job. If you would like them to disappear almost completely, then support my idea about moving them to a certain map where B/S/T will be held including chatboxes and their very own Broadcaster (optional) Check this link: http://www.forsaken-ro.net/forum/topic/31517-markettrading-house/ I would be happy if I received ideas/comments/critics about this suggestion
