My Time So Far.

I know so...so little about this game or this server.

I wish I had known that if I can't @go someplace, I can @warp to it. I was using the Warper to get to the leveling grounds...after I learned what pay_dun00 and the like stood for.

Max Heal on undead in Payon Cave is a quick way to level for me, maxing Dex first and than Vit is all I really need to do. Holy power!

Wraiths and Evil Druid were the next best thing in Glast Heim Churchyard, as long as I avoid Dark Lord and Dark Priests like the plague.

It was pretty slow with all the teleporting around to avoid stuff, but I had Turn Undead Lv5 to work towards.

I restated so I could have 150 Dex for insta cast, rest into INT and LUK for a better chance with Turn Undead, went to kill Anubis in Sphinx 4.

I now understood why insta cast mattered and fell in love with Kyrie Eleison with how it kept me going long enough for Turn Undead to work when I was unlucky.

...now that I think about it, couldn't I have used Lex Divina on the Anubis to silence it as I used Turn Undead?

Oh well. When the exp became low I moved on to Necromancers and quietly moved out, those things are just to packed and my Turn Undead luck didn't stand a chance.

After that failure I moved to for_fild05, restated again since Turn Undead had no power there and I had one very power magic attack.

In the end it seemed I had to melee it out with a Mace, with a mix of STR/Agi/Vit/Luk, and buffs to get by.

So a questions. Is there a point to partying there since everyone teleports to find a target?

Another question. Is melee really the best way for me to go to level?

Good commands to know:

@go *number between 0-26* (warp to towns)

@warp *map name xcoord ycoord* (warp to maps)

@shopping (easier to browse shops)

@mi *monster ID/name* (tells you monster information)

@ii *item ID/name* (tells you item information)

@whodrops *item ID/name* (tells you which monster drops this item)

@autoloot *value between 0-100* (loots items that have this drop rate or lower)

@ali *item ID/name* (loots this item specifically)

@whereis *monster ID/name* (tells you map location of monster)

@time (tells you current server time)

@storage (storage system that is accessible between all your characters on your account)

/guild *guild name* (creates guild)

/organize *party name* (creates party)

/leave (leaves your current party)

Good database sites:

http://ratemyserver.net/

http://irowiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

Best place to level:

@warp for_fild06 (kill "uber" monsters)

This is a high-rate, PvP-oriented server so partying and PvM isn't the emphasis. Getting to level cap is relatively easy. Easiest way to level would be to get leeched by another player. Otherwise, I'd recommend you melee or use the skill Holy Light to level up.

Those I have bold are ones I didn't figure out by using @commands, since I only seem to notice something I'm needing right than and there.

Thank you Forum!

PS: Would you recommend a Sniper or Wizard for farming that Fierce armor set for zeny? Or is there another class and a better way to farm for zeny in dungeons or fields?

PSS: At what point can I kill the "uber" monsters?)

Wizard is an invaluable class to have for all sorts of farming purposes. As for farming for zeny, I recall farming for stone of sage or 3carat diamond back in my newbie days. Item ID for stone of sage would be 12040, 3carat diamond is 732 (use @ali command).

As for what maps in particular, kill Isis in moc_pryd04 for 3carat diamond, I don't remember the stone of sage one.

Also, to maximize your zeny-earning, I recommend you sell your loot using a merchant client because of a particular skill they have.

Regarding the uber monsters, the fact-of-the-matter is that they themselves are easy to kill. However, the mobs around them are aggressive and for a new player, hard to deal with. It might be good to use an isolation tactic by finding a lone uber monster. If you feel uncomfortable, monsters found in for_fild05 is always a safe bet too.

No problem. Ask again if you need more information.

EDIT: Priest is a good niche role that's undervalued here imo... though you'll need friends to really maximize their value. Stick with a class and get good at it is my recommendation.

I will main my Priest.

Just that I need a easier time when farming and I want to get the things it will need to be useful. I dislike the idea of being the low level leeching, just there for the buffs and heals...though such there are no stats that up healing I'll just be a well geared Priest there for buffs and healing.

All about staying alive as long as I can I guess.

for_fild06 is the best place to level here in fRO. Players usually party the char which needs to level and change the party setup for "even share" regarding experience which is called "leeching."

Players tend to keep warping around as they only aim for the uber monsters as those monsters give the highest xp points rather than waste their time and slow level with the non-uber monsters.

You can level using your "Holy Light" skill not sure if it would be effective against them but if I were you, I'd buff my str up and set my aspd to 195 and just go melee.

I can tell you like playing support.

You could setup a basilica barrier or safety wall while you fight an über mob :)

Sniper is a good class to farm with once you setup average FAS damage, wiz is too. Just depends on how you want to kill mobs I guess.

255/255, finally. Took longer than it should, as it normally does the first time around, but I'm there.

Those 'Uber' monsters really were great exp, Kyrie Eleison is such a godsend.

On your way to becoming a Pokemon Master.

Guh, no. I don't want to think I caught them all and find out later there was a whole other continent with Pokemon that people failed to tell me of.

Though the second part of the King Quest is feeling like it.

What? There's more?

Oh hell, I may as well just level the Wizard and trade it the Emblems, pass the Knight Quest, get the L. gear so I can farm. I'll save the Vote points to gear my High Priest.

Posted (edited)

I endorse your strategic planning.

Well actually, scratch that. Wizard doesn't need to complete the knight quest. Give that to your Priest. Hope I wasn't too late to avert such a tragedy from occuring, ehehehee.

Reason being, the knight set is transferable via storage. Since Priest is going to be your main, you should make that a knight, not your wizard.

Took a small break, you aren't to late.

What about the weapon quest though? Or should I just pick the Staff so both of them can make use to it? I heard that you can go Staff/Shield with L. gear.

Posted (edited)

The legendary weapons are unique to each class so you'd go with the Priest's legendary weapon I presume.

Oh....so I have to be picky. Which Priest weapon would be more useful? The healing one? Or would I most likely be debuffing or going in to melee in GvG?

PS: I guess I wouldn't need a L. weapon for my Wizard to farm?

I thought there was only one. Aka, the one that's in the link of my previous post.

Yeah, wizard can farm without needing high end gears.

The list shows three weapons. Legendary Priest Book, Legendary Priest Staff, Legendary Priest Mace.

Or are they all apart of different quests I can take?

Or can I get all three?

Posted (edited)

Pretty sure you have to choose one out of the three. Book would be my preference.

I noticed, 200 stats are nice, but I really do want it on my HW as well. I've learned that being able to switch between support and attack is always a good way not to get bored. Or to remind me why I'm not suited for combat roles.

Though of course I'll be using the High Priest till my eyes are bleeding first.

Right now I'm working on the Dungeon Pass for my HW.

You were so...so right. Just got done getting my dungeon pass.
