Last Man Standing - Really Without Parties And Help

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hey, I've been joining couple LMS events from time to time.

I know parties are disabled and against rules, but still people there work together and hunt everyone down in groups/guilds.

I find myself trying to just hide, till end (even though I get killed quickly) cause I'm always alone there. Wouldn't stand a chance against LK, Proff, Creator, Sniper at the same time..

Suggestion: Event GM could oversee and check that people would go Free-for-all against everyone, even if they're guildies. If GM sees that they're trying to gank together and work together, they would get warped out. In that way it would be much more enjoyable and people would have a chance to win that, even if they're participating alone...

Maybe I'm just a whining bitch, but though I'd atleast let you know... o3o'

Hey, this is me (minus the sniper).

The method you suggested is too subjective and it sounds like it could present problems for those involved. I don't see any way around it. PvP ladder and LMS, as much as it would be ideal if it were a 1 vs 1 sort of situation, still has groups involved (possible reasons against this stated in this thread by myself and Rayray: http://www.forsaken-ro.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=27504). I'd recommend you fight fire with fire and bring a group inside yourself to combat such a situation.

Disagree.

I always go with the method "if I am going down, I at least bring one down with me".

During LMS, I have a different card setup on my bio(i don't go hybrid since if I outlast until the end of their fcp, I am pretty sure I can win). I mostly use defensive cards(kyrie shoes are godly when getting ganged, I also wear my ring of resonance during gangs) and play defensively and let others kill each other. If I know they are in a group, run to the other direction, hit whoever comes near first, run(cloak using sinx card) to the other direction again, repeat. Since I know gangs occur a lot on LMS, I change stats for it. I pump a bit more hp than normal, never mind the lower damage I will do since I will win the moment I break their armor anyway. I go around killing their alts first(the fcpers hiding somewhere). I dart in with hit and run tactic, if they are fighting someone else, i hit them, they turn their focus on me, the one they are hitting can survive or better yet, kill someone too.

It is called LMS, but it isn't a tournament-type thing. People are free to do whatever method they want(as long as it isn't illegal) to be the last player alive. As what Drew said above me, bring a group as well, or join with the people that went alone too.

I won LMS a fair few times on bio when I entered alone. Standing your ground on gangs will never work, you have to keep moving. speed pots help a lot, although you should still be fighting a bit, else the GM might flag you and disqualify you for excessively running.

Maybe if we bring back the Last Team Standing, people won't always hunt in teams.

Well now you're talking about a different event altogether. Though while we're on this topic, I haven't seen LTS happen in a long time. This event would certainly eliminate the need to look for a team since it forcibly puts you in one.

Unfortunately, they take a lot more time and coordination on the GM's behalf. Not sure these could be a regular occurrence unless it was automated some how.

It is difficult for GMs to host this as people always complain about how 'biassed' the teams are, no matter the means of formation.

I've performed a few /dice formation LTS when I was hosting it alone. It would be ran based on even/uneven numbers and depending on the outcome you'd be in team 1 or 2.

Still people complain that things were unfair done or unbalanced.

In all honesty, it can be hard to measure the value of a player and we don't know how good everyone is. Especially since the PvP room is quite dead and no one measures their strength like that anymore.

The time organising the event and the appreciation afterwards just doesn't feel good enough for us to host this. Example, we only get 3-5 tokens, why not more? Well, consider 15 players in a party -> 45-75 tokens spent.

People are too selfish for us to consider these things on a frequent basis as players became less appreciative, more selfish and expect too much gain for no return at all.

If you can automated, use a system where the event npc puts you in the team. Say 10 teams, and assign players like that.

We will look into a team based lMS. However, even with normal LMS, you will have the issue with people ganging. Its very hard to eliminate without someone claiming the hosting GM is biased.
