xSeraphina Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 While GTB in itself has already managed to irritate me and has provoked a forum post earlier on how it doesn't feel balanced at all, the fact that all my damage can also be thrown back in my face (something I have no seen be a major issue for other classes besides champions who decide to asura paladins/LK's) is even more irritating. Stave crasher I've been trying to learn how to use, yet I've encountered characters(more specifically baby chars) with perfect dodge who do insane damage as well as with the use of maya purple/GTB make my only option to stave crasher them yet ever hit seems to miss. Yet, once again, I'm rendered useless. This is a frustrating class. :/ Quote
Forum~ Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Haven't played Professor in-depth enough to understand its play style thoroughly, especially with Stave Crasher, but I can offer some suggestions from what I do understand.Stave Crasher is a physical ranged attack so you'd probably need physical damage modifier cards (TGs, Incant/Thana, FBHs, and the like). You said you were missing so maybe a Phreeoni would help as well. Also, try using BOS or other elemental converters so your damage doesn't get nuked by the opposing party's GR armor double Raydric/Deviling cloak. There are custom items that help specifically with Stave Crasher so you might want to look into that. I think there was a voting headgear and Pandaring card among them. Also, not sure if what you said was intentional but perfect dodge is for physical melee attacks (clicking the enemy and hitting them) whereas flee is for both physical melee attacks and physical skills. So I think what you meant to say was Stave Crasher is missing due to high flee, not perfect dodge. This is resolved by having higher hit (points above to Phreeoni card). No single class should be the end-all answer to any particular class in PvP (though, clown/gypsy ranks high up there, huehue) so the fact that your Professor is struggling against some classes and excelling against others is perfectly normal. Edit: I've seen some Professors hitting a good 20k-30k Stave Crasher on those who have GTB/Maya on, so it is a good strategy to explore. Edited January 9, 2014 by Forum~ Quote
heha Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 yea saphera. Did you put phree card in your weapon? So far from what i understand, as long as you have 500 hit, you will barely miss in your stave. I do met with some players with insane perfect dodge due to high LUK and yea i keep missing when i stave them (probably only hit once out of 20 time) but they don't deal any high damage as well. Usually it is just a troll character to make others feel annoying. If you happen to find someone with high damage and you still misses at stave even you do have phree included in your weapon, the only possibility I can think of is they are at full redux for your choosen element to stave. The only few elements which I know that can achieve that is water, fire, wind & shadow. Quote
Rayray Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 It's actually rare to see people stacking flee. And I think PD does not affect skills, you should see them having that small bubble that says "lucky" when PD works. If it doesn't, then you miss due to flee. It has been a long time since I saw people making my stave miss. Although just to be sure, I have a staff with 3x phreeoni + thana/incant. Baby chars don't have high hp(except super baby, which will not go super high flee anyway) so hitting them with 20k staves or a bit more should do the trick. Quote
heha Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 wth 3 phree O_O that's insane. I can't imagine that you will still be missing after using 3 of it. kekeke. Quote
Rayray Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 wth 3 phree O_O that's insane. I can't imagine that you will still be missing after using 3 of it. kekeke. I came from early stages of FRO, where some people stacked flee on stalker or worse, flee clown/gypsy. So far the habit of mine having an extra weapon with 3 phreeoni cards didn't leave me. Quote
