When I was like 14-15ish I watched lots of romance comedy, drama, horror and even mainstream action. I liked many some of them were very cliche until I moved to manga to find out other interesting stuff. Here is my own tastes regarding the anime from 2011-2013 I am not writing down the plot. I personally dislike animes that have 52+ episodes so they won't be in this list. Of course I watched plenty more than this (I may have a lot of time, pity me LOL) I don't remember some of the titles and I would just point out the ones in my mind at the moment. Action/Fantasy 1. Sword Art Online (SAO): it may remind you of RO somehow. It was very nice and a very complete anime it has romance and some comedy in it. 2. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood: I really liked this. I watched the original anime version before they made the remake with the original manga story. I really got hooked on this when it came out. 3. Fate Zero/Fate Stay Night saga: I also liked this, while it is somehow predictable. The animation and the story flow is very good. I would recommend you to watch first the Fate Stay Night since it was released first. Honorable mention: Code Geass / Gurren Lagan: I am not into robots to be honest. One is very different from the other. Code Geass has a very deep storyline and many "wow" moments of your typical genius boy while the other one is more mainstream and very lineal. I liked them both. Mystery/Horror/Action 1. Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack On Titan): Some say it may be the best anime of 2013, it's very good at the moment. The plot is very good and the fighting scenes are incredible. 2. Bakemonogatari series and Gosick Very good while at the same time confusing. Some say both of them were one of the best series these years. 3. Another: While Death Note, Higurashi and maybe Ghost Stories were good, this anime was very creepy in its own way somehow reminds you of the movie Final Destination. By the way if you haven't watched the animes I mentioned watch them NOW. Romantic Comedy/Romance: I am very biased here, ecchi/harem genres are my type but I also loved deep and mature stories like Clannad, Kanon, Love Hina, Kimi Ni Todoke, etc (which I may consider the best ones I've ever seen, but of course I was a child then) 1. The God World Only Knows: HUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUE 2. Amagami SS and the Amagami series in general: Just wow....It is very realistic. If you like boys and girls falling for each other watch this. But if you want to meet a genius boy who is obliged to conquer girls then watch #1. 3. Hentai no Ouji, Baka to test, Boku wa Tomodachi, Hayate No Gotoku, Oreimo: All of them have the same special feeling of making me laugh and feel happy whenever I watch them. I personally LOVE Oreimo. Well it is quiet a HUGE list but hope you liked it.
