pukamon Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I downloaded and installed the new all-in-one and ever since i've been getting errors from some headgears, this first 1 is when i select characters from my acct that has a bio wearing an ice wing (vote4points) forgot the color, i error instantly without even seeing the characters, (the other 2 chars next to the bio are gearless), i had this problem before, months ago when i re-downladed the all in one fro installer and re-installed it, i patched lots of times, re-installed lots of times and i still had the same problem, finally i just copied a previous installation of fro from my pc and pasted it in my laptop, it worked perfectly with no errors. I don't know what it is about these new fro installers, i've asked around and some people have the same problem, the fro installed in my pc was 2-3 years old i believe, never uninstalled, just kept patching, the same as the installed fro in my laptop before i re-downloaded and re-installed. Bishop Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Make sure you instal the new all-in-one installer in a NEW folder. Do not add it to your older files as you will still error that way.
pukamon Posted March 11, 2012 Author Report Posted March 11, 2012 Make sure you instal the new all-in-one installer in a NEW folder. Do not add it to your older files as you will still error that way. Of course, I did that that and other ways, uninstalled, cleared the fro folder off my hard drive(left overs), ran CCleaner(just in case), restarted laptop, then re-installed fro. Still the same.
Decode Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 The best solution I have for this it to, delete your patch.inf file and run your patcher... It should make a patch from scratch and cover all the missing information.

Yeah did this too before on old fro, still had the same errors, I saw this solution before on other threads, not sure about this all in one new installer though, gonna try, thanks.
oneinchfist Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 i wish i had never deleted my old fro files, the old new one has new errors & the patch dont work at all and the manual patch is not working too sigh..
joniele Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 i uninstalled my FRO [i also dont play other server] then download the all in one but still getting errors with headgears. like flapping deviling wings and piamette ears.
Ryuk Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) I am aware that there's a few older headgears that error with the new full installer. The same headgears have errored for quite a while unless you used my files. I'll probably be able to create a fix but I might have to talk to Genesis first. For the time being you'll have to refrain from using the known headgears such as flappy deviling wings, helm of hermit and piamette ears. Even the mouthpieces might error at this time but I'll see what I can do. :3. PS. If you error from the new activity headgears then you did not install the new full installer properly. If you do that you will be errorless, aside from a few older headgear sprites. @oneinchfist if you didn't delete the old files you would still error from the new mobs, maps and possibly items as well. So it's not an option to keep the old files. You will need the new All-In-One. I'll just have a create an alternate data file or make some changes to the current one to fix the old headgear sprite errors. Edited March 13, 2012 by Ryuk
Ryuk Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Alright. This file should fix your current errors. :3. I apologize that it took a while before anything was done regarding the errors as I wasn't aware that people were erroring until I saw this topic. It's 2:30 am now so I'm off to bed. Please post here whether this file fixed the errors for you or not and I'll check the forums tomorrow :). Regards, Ryuk Edited March 15, 2012 by Ryuk

So we replace the old fordata.grf and fpatch.inf with these? or just combine them? or i'll just figure out for myself, gonna test anyways.
Ryuk Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 You overwrite them yes. So basically you replace them. :) Let me know the outcome ! Regards, Ryuk
Ryuk Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Giving this topic two more days. If there's no new reports I'll asume it's fixed :)

Genesis Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 The installer seems to simply not be working for you. This sometimes happens. Try downloading this: ftp://patc.forsakens...inonemanual.rar I am uploading a new version, it will be done in 3 hours from when i am posting this. At that time, feel free to download it. Extract it to a NEW folder (has to be a new folder). Anywhere on your computer and try to run it. You should be ok. Add me to msn if you need help with thism, I can respond instantly.

Well, I tested the fallen ghost aura on bio and there seem to be no more errors(after fully patching with the st patrick's), earlier I couldn't patch fro, it would always stop at the patch99.grf and the start button won't appear, I downloaded the FROinstaller.exe you provided on the saint patrick's day thread, I don't know if it did anything because when I opened it nothing happened, nothing popped up or anything, and I tried to delete it to re download it again but it says it's still running and i can't delete it, so something's up with that haha (that was an hour ago, before woe, now woe is done I still can't delete it, i'll restart my laptop and delete it then), but after that I tried to patch again and it actually finished this time. (diff patcher) This time though I used the different fro patcher (there's 2 fro patchers in my fro, I don't know if this is right). I usually use the <ForsakenRO-Patcher.exe> but this time I used the <Forsaken-Patcher.exe> and that finished my update and logged on then checked bio with no errors. I'll go and check my other headgears for errors later and say if there's anymore errors, but for now it's all good!
Ryuk Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 The patcher oftenly appears to be freezing. The letters at the bottom get bold and seem to be stuck. However the patcher is still going on and the button on the left will light up eventually. You only won't be able to keep track of the progress. This only happens with very large updates so don't worry too much about it. Just let it run for quite a while and it should be fine. I'm currently also testing items etc with the newest small installer and I'll try to fix any errors I find as soon as I can. However the clock's ticking and it's 2:36 AM for me atm. So I might not be able to fix the errors before tomorrow.

Yeah that's what I figured too at first, but i waited a long time for that patch to finish, so i assumed that there's something wrong, so i tried the other patcher and it finished instantly, and i just tested the flap deviling wings and other gears on my super novice, no errors, looks like all is fixed! Thanks for the help guys! Only error I got now was during this woe when I got recalled to a castle, instant error, but i really don't know what the situation is with that nor what everyone was wearing so unless i get more details on it i guess i can't say it's a big deal (only happened once anyways). Go to sleep man!
Ryuk Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Alright. Glad everything works for you now. :) if you find any errors please do report them to me. And I'm not sure what caused the recall error. However if it happens more often we can look into that too :).
Genesis Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I figured out the problem! I am testing it out now and will release a small patch. I went through and tested every single item we have (we have hundreds) and am fixing the ones that error. I will probably release it tomorrow. =] *Edit* I released the patch today, I am updating the installers. Its a small patch but it fixes all the error items. I'll let Ryuk confirm in the morning.

Bishop Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 (edited) Testing all items takes a huge amount of time. The patch should be up now ! Edited March 18, 2012 by Bishop
Ryuk Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 The patch has indeed been up as of early today. (or yesterday in some time-zones). Patch 100 (latest) has fixed all known errors that we had. This includes helm of hermes, flapping deviling wing, poring letter, piamette ear and many others. If you have used your patcher to get patch 100 then you should be errorless. If you still error after having this update then please report the error to me and let me know when you get the error.
