I have been facing very similar problems. My fRO lags hardcore sometimes to the point where I nearly get dc'd. Just yesterday during LMS hosted by [GM]Justice it lagged so hard a lot of the players got dc'd. This is not usual, it's very abnormal and sometimes when I try to log on I get the error message "Rejected from the server" Any ideas what might be wrong ? I regularly patch, and have not had this problem in the last month and a half I've been playing. Edit: I've pinged fRO multiple times during said problematic hours, and my ping as always is between "50-70"

See this is a valid point, as is any argument stated by any person. But I fail, absolutely fail. To see how it would dis-encourage new players to go beyond ND sets. From my current view point, I think this would encourage them to go further, it would give them a chance to get gear such as emps, imps, maybe even have weapons/f.armors/cloaks as drops. Currently when a new player joins, he knows better than to farm Nd sets or finds out soon enough anyway, he goes straight to farming seeds, berries or speed pots or items for Pro's (cards, quest items etc.) At another server I used to play, they used to have trans and non-trans WOE for the exact same reason. Because it allowed players new and old alike to compete in field of some what equality. The point of any game, or anything in general usually. Is what they call "Mastery", "Autonomy" and "Purpose" all 3 can be achieved through this thought as I currently understand it. Don't get me wrong by no means am I saying donation WOE is not fair, but what I am saying is that during donation WOE it is a lot more difficult for players with less gear to compete with those who are fully geared, let alone get drops considering how "most" the current guilds work. It's just a suggestion to try and create some sort of balance between donation and non-donation. I remember over 2 years ago, ND pvp used to have sooooo many players new and old. PvP wasn't just for players with donation gear, there was infact more tactic and skill that went into playing non donation PvP. And now when I look at pvp, hardly is there anybody in non donation or donation PvP because most players know, that unless they are at least well geared they stand no chance in donation pvp. And non donation PvP is just empty. If this server is to grow in general it requires that it's players and GM's both put in the time and effort to encourage players to join. And that's what this idea is about, to help the server grow because without growth this server will surely and steadily just fade away... Think from a new players perspective not yours, because honestly we don't need our perspectives. We need theirs if we want them to stay. Non-donation gear is great no doubt, but it surely cannot compare anywhere near to donation gear. Donation gear gives you soo many extra stats. I can only quote sinx and so I will. Donation gear saves you from putting stats into dex, luk, agi so that you can get more str and do more damage which is pretty necessary if you're going to be doing any damage at all against players with reduct and damage gear like Friggs or Sacreds, valk weps etc etc. Besides I don't think any class would have enough hp to stand against donation geared players anyway. The damage output is so high these days, that without the proper reducts players with good gear are easy kills as well. And it usually has less to do with skill and creativity and more to do with tokens and donation gear. I am not all knowing and wouldn't even dream of making such a claim, my opinion is only one from a player who knows a part of the game. Which is why we have the forums, so that others who may know more can help and better our server/ ideas. And yes I absolutely agree with changing the drops for the ND castles, this (Adding a ND WOE castle) is a very large concept and it requires a lot of refining. My primary idea was to see what the community thinks of it, accordingly the refining can be done if desired. I'd love to see this server at the level it once used to be, with 150 people online all the time. And at least 250+ online during WOE. It'd help stabilize sooo many things that are very unstable at the moment. Please do continue to add your wonderful opinions this is what we need ! Participation from the players to whom the server belongs.

Yes of course the "skilled" donation players could still dominate. But for once players won't be dominating only because they have better gear than the opposite player. Point being, that skilled players who do not have donation gear (Players who may come here from other RO servers, etc) would have a good chance to start afresh and be able to go to higher levels without having to waddle through this muddy economy. Also it would help the economy by increasing the demand for Nd items that can be farmed (Usually farmed by newer players) How is it going to happen ? I have no idea, I have never codded and do not pretend to understand coding or eAthena or w/e is required. My job as a player who does not understand said dynamics is to make suggestions and request the opinions of the members of the server. Do post your thoughts.

I don't know what you are talking about ^^^ But could the GM's please turn the pvp off, it tends to get annoying.

Tbh speed asura, from my experiance is impossible with high ping unless you got macros (On your keyboard/mouse) which may still prove to be difficult. I've tried and tried. But with a ping between 260-360 I hardly ever succeed to speed asura. However maybe your situation is different.

Ya sure, Method 1. Hopefully you are using OS snow leopard or higher. Buy or temporarily borrow a windows xp, 7, vista CD. Follow the following directions, it's really not hard. http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/boot_camp_install-setup.pdf Method 2. Purchase or download or w/e a software like VmWare fusion. The word you might want to google for is parallel's for Mac, after reading a few pages it should be self-explanatory. I don't think there is any way to play games like RO or LoL and many others on the "mac OS" you can try using cross-over (another software) but I don't know if it's range of use-able applications stretches as far as softwares like RO. None of these methods are overly complicated, they are really simple if you follow the instructions. If you use method 1 I suggest you follow the instructions carefully so that you do not accidentally erase your drive, which will require you to re-install the mac OS and also lose all your data. So, I've been voting for the past 2 weeks or so. But have not been able to redeem any of my vote tokens since the last week. Also the number of vote tokens on my account doesn't increase, it's been at 10 for a while, at first I thought it was some sort of glitch that would fix itself given time. But it hasn't changed which has led me to believe that it may be a problem on my browser or computer. I'm using Windows 7 via bootcamp from a Macbook pro. My internet browser is Google Chrome version 16.0.912.63 which is the latest version. I have cleared the cache, history, etc, etc. Even re-installed the browser, used different browsers to vote to no avail. Any help is appreciated, Thank you for your time and effort.

I'm speaking about the christmas candies that can be farmed at the field south of the Forsaken christmas field that can be entered by speaking to the snowman near the healer in Fcity. There was no post in the update as to wether they were going to be activated this season, but presumably since the mobs were spawning .... Thank you

This may have been answered before or the topic might have been deleted or Idk what, but presumably I'm not the only one who can't use the candies ? My fRO is patched, all that all that. I click the candies and nothing happens. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you. Edit: Nothing about candies was mentioned in the patch, maybe we're not going to have the stat boosting candies this Christmas ?

I think it would be great to have "more" events that would appeal to both old and new players. But more importantly I think we need some new event token purchase-able items, event tokens sell for as much as 40 mil, which is what I buy regular tokens at, point being there's not much demand for it ... But that's off topic. I recall the good old days when there used to be all sorts of events, we didn't have a higher server population; I don't think. But there certainly were less afk-ing people if that counts for anything !

I know I have a mailbreaker[3] somewhere... Hardly op considering most classes can easily force fcp. Snipers force fcp, anybody with the old quest hats can force fcp, stalkers force fcp, any class using the rings (ring of flame, idk the name of the other one), metaling cards, d.war, clowns and gypsies usually force fcp. A good HP would force fcp... Point being, the argument that it would cause an increase in "Force FCP" and possibly make Sinx/Lk OP isn't even an argument worth stating. However it can be argued that metaling cards and d.war cards, etc cannot be considered worth adding in the above list as sinx's and LK's usually don't have much dex. However if the opp. character is successfully stripped a player with decent gear should able to freeze kill them, or at least run them out of a good amount of ygg's. I've heard rumors about there being slotted edge's and vaguely also remember using one with LoD cards. However this could have been on a different server. I recall that the slotted edge's could be made to be overpowered, but at this point... Holy shit most the customs on this server can make any character/class overpowered as long as you combine the items w/ strategy. The prev. servers I played usually had classes to balance out classes if that makes sense, sniper vs. champ. Lk vs. sinX. Point being each class was better then the other in a certain way, which could be countered by a different class therefore adding some sort of balance. The idea of customization is to create variety and diversity and I think it would be a great addition to this server to re-add the socket enchanters, it would make pvp interesting once again, even if only temporarily.
