Isn't The "about" Section Of The Main Site Misleading?

There's this part of the about section that bugged me a while ago and made me leave the server:

  • Donation-exclusive items? No, anyone can obtain donation items!

I came into the server, in part, because of that single line for there are usually lots of visually calling donation-only gear and It has gotten really tiring to see that the only way to obtain any gear I might want is by opening my wallet.

As I started playing I found a couple of donation items that I quite wanted, so, I looked around for the way to obtain them and this was the answer I received:

Verazilla: They are only obtainable by donating

So, as I'll be around for a little I wanted to know what it was, is the information about the server misleading or I missed someway of attaining donation items?

It is not misleading. It is true that you can get donation items without donating. You can farm in-game and get forsaken tokens(main currency of the game, used as a means of trading things. and zeny as secondary.)

So by farming and getting enough tokens. you can buy things from donators or other players who have it without donating.

So Donation Items, are of course can be obtained only by donating. So those donators that want to get more tokens. donates for items and sell it in game. This is to go in line on the statements i said above.

To get geared up, you do not need to donate. You simply need to vote. If you want to have a customized look to your character while being viable in PvP, you can either donate, or trade players ingame for this item. Donation items are not account bound. Thankfully, zeny farming, automated events, mvp card farming and questing services make this viable.

Alright. I never donated. Everyone who knew me in this game know that. With that said, this server boasts no donation-exclusive item. Most servers makes donation items untradeable, meaning the only way to ever get them is to use your wallet. None of the items listed on the token shop is ever untradeable. Meaning, you can get them from players by buying them using Tokens(which is kinda the in-game currency). This is also one of the servers where we actually have an economy due to that.

You can get ALL the donation items you want, provided someone in game is selling it.

Hi there, I think everyone else has already covered how the information in the about section of the website is accurate. However, I wanted to point out the way you quoted me is a bit misleading, unless we had a conversation on Skype that I'm unable to find. It looks like you edited a response I gave you on the forums, which if you read the full response, provides a more accurate picture:

Kitty ears are only obtainable by donating, however, there are quite a few different headgears with similar effects you can get by doing quests in the Knight Hall, or you can get a vote valkyrie helm which has the same stats. As for the kitty claws - you can get a katar with nearly the same effect as the kitty claws by doing the legendary weapon quest. :)

Yes, the "only obtainable by donating" part is technically incorrect, because you can always trade/buy donation gear from other players for tokens. So, I apologize for that poorly worded part of my answer. I had just meant you couldn't get them from events or quests or anything like that.

There are quite a few RO servers out there where donation items are account bound, meaning unless you donate, it's impossible for you to get those items. It's not like that here at all, which is what the website is referring to. However, we go beyond that, because we also provide items with the exact same effects as their donation counterparts as vote rewards, AND we also provide questable alternatives with only ~3 stats or so less. Donation items offer variety and unique sprites (though many donation sprites have been used for legendary quest rewards, too!).

I'm sorry that this issue has bothered you for so long. However, I'd encourage you to instead make a suggestion of adding those sprites as quest/vote/event/etc. rewards instead, as we are very open to community feedback on these things. :)
