[solved] How To Improve My Ping?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm from the philippines and I just pinged the server. I got 297ms on average. I wonder is there any way I can improve my ping. in the game I kinda feel some delay and laggg. well I have a decent connection because Playing DOTA 2 at US West and SEA server I got 60ms and 30ms.

I hope I can improve my game to lessen the lagg. thanks new to FRo.

Step 1: Live in the US.

Lol jk. I heard some players use a particular software to improve their ping; something with getting a better connection and response from the server. Someone here who knows the name will hopefully reply and answer your question.

You can try using a rerouting program such as Wtfast :3. However the free trial of this software will disconnect you every 15-20 minutes. Unless you pay for a subscription. This should be able to lower your ping with appoximately 50. However, you will not be able to check your ping while wtfast is on. This is because wtfast targets your game client and does not show any changes at the cmd prompt.

I'm playing from the Philippines as well. What ISP are you on? I've tried both PLDT and Bayantel and PLDT has a better connection to the server than Bayantel ever does. Just routing differences, I guess.

I am using Globe. I got 3mbps connection. But I still find some delays in the game. I know this is about the server because the server is in the US.

im live in the philippines and im using globe broadband stick, my best ping was around 300... previously when i was still using pldt my ping was around 200.. however i also played on a internet cafe near our school and they have around 160 ping. i believe to increase you ping, you should subscribe for better internet connection.. better to use a landline/DSL rather than a broadband stick coz stick has only have cellphone like signal which disconnects you sometimes every 30mins.

More than ping, it's actually how the ISP routes your traffic to the server. In Bayantel, I was at 250-300 ping but was getting delays that felt like 1k+ MS, yet I don't get any ping spikes in CMD.

On PLDT, I'm at roughly 200-250, but I never get any spikes or delays (my PLDT is slower than my Bayantel, btw).

I would do a tracert to the server and check the number and quality of your connection hops.

UP. need more answers.

Like I said,

1. Get your connection's tracert results. Paste them here if you want. "tracert forsakenserver.net" on CMD. For context, I'm getting 250 as well but have no lag and minimal delay in-game (I've tested spamming differences with someone who has <50ms to the server).

2. Keep a tab open for "ping forsakenserver.net -t" on CMD. See for any latency spikes if you get lags or delays. If you get spikes in CMD when you lag in-game, there's something in your connection that's going on. If you don't, your ISP is doing something with your connection.
