elykarmic Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 hmmm. Sir can you give free kiels for newbies? Cause i think its hard for them to farm without kiels. 3-7days free 3pcs kiel card would be enough to get and buy some items for themselves. :) what do you think sir? Just include it on the box/package for newbies when you make a new character. :). thanks. More power to the gm team :)
Hypnosis Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 I don't think this is a good suggestion, If anything work on the existing starter items. That is what silver kiels are for.
Amicable Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) -1, For starters, what if people make more accounts/characters, then they would just get 3 kiels over and over....It would just make the prices of kiels worth nothing anymore(you could just delete the character, make the same class, leech it, and you can have the kiel for 3-7 days over and over) I don't think this is a good suggestion, If anything work on the existing starter items. Kiel will be worth next to nothing.
Enenra Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 I think that this would affect the market for Kiel Cards in undesired ways. As well as what Amicable said, players could just remake their characters to abuse this. Personally I would find this more problematic than helpful, especially since Silver Kiels already serve the purpose you are asking for these for (to help new players).
Rayray Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 might be better to give a "rental" item that disappears after 3 days that has the effect of kiels. 1

I think it will create a lot of chaos, "Newer" players who donate, Like I was, rely on selling cards like that for tokens. So this affects newer players as well, everyone loses $ on this one. I'm sure that those are only some issues that will arise if this suggestion is accepted, meaning more will come out, which makes some other problem(s) that we may have to later address. What you should think of is ways to improve the starter items.for newer players. Ray is right, some type of item or consumable, but I think cards is out of the question. elykarmic Posted August 10, 2013 Author Report Posted August 10, 2013 might be better to give a "rental" item that disappears after 3 days that has the effect of kiels. This is what i mean. :) sorry i was so sleepy last night. that's why i couldn't set my idea properly :) Thanks Ray!
sartorius19 Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 Hmmm, i think it wouldnt work either, if the main idea is consumables, it will just be like the cards. Though could you explain more Juan? as to the rental, ray, could you explain it further, on how this may work?
ChainBreak Posted August 10, 2013 Report Posted August 10, 2013 -1 There's already the wanderer helm that gives after skill redux. Newbees can really just farm for an hour or so to get the zeny for a set of silver mvp cards.
Autopsies Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) 4 Silver Kiels, 2 Expert Rings is practically the same reduction. More than enough to farm, and I don't think new players should be spoon fed everything, if you make everything easy then you take out a lot of the fun and challenges of starting off. -1 Edited August 11, 2013 by Autopsies
Hypnosis Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) I know some guy who has been playing since I first started and he has no items because he can't farm Kiels, You know what though? That still didn't discourage him from working his ass off and slowly, but surely he's climbing the ladder. If you're handed everything you will always want handouts, so please, Work for what you got instead of asking for everything, This is going to just cause more problems in the future, and honestly I don't see a way of adding them without creating problems, So no I can't find anyway to agree with you on this topic because there's not many options here. Newbees can really just farm for an hour or so to get the zeny for a set of silver mvp cards. He was intending to use the kiels for farming. Obviously, the wanderer set wont take any effect once the player reaches 200+ Level. That's what i seem to be the 'hole' in it.

It takes 1~2 hours to farm the zenny for 4 Silver Kiels + 2 Expert rings which are enough for a decent farm.
Shadi Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 I personally think the starter gear is fine as it is.

I did this exact thing before I had anything whatsoever. That wouldn't be all to fair and on top of that it is going to ruin the Kiel market. I don't see a middle ground here, sorry, but I disagree with this suggestion.
Genesis Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Kiels are in extremely high demand, this could be easily abused and removed the incentive to work.
