DarthKalas Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 Hello, I would like to discuss an idea for a monthly PVP tournament event that would last pretty much half of the day after W.o.E or we could schedule an appointed day in each month where there is no W.o.E to allow participants to take place in the event. Prizes would be totally up to the Administrator, personally I would suggest BR Tokens. There will be 2 types of tournaments Singles and Team eliminations. Also so that everyone is on a level playing field Custom Items, MVP and Silver MVP cards will not be allowed. [Rules:] Singles Tournament Style: 64 Man single elimination (with a fight between semi-final losers for 3rd place) Team Tournament Style: 12 teams (3 Man Teams) Single Elimination Winner Takes All.(No second or Third Place) Allowed Items: Original iRO items, Armors, Cards, weapons, Elemental Converters Banned Items: All Custom Items, All MVP Cards, All Silver MVP Cards, W.o.E 2.0 drops (Asprika etc.) This Tournament is to test the skill, knowledge (and co-operation) of players this tournament will be held once a month with the team match taking place first, then the singles. Participants must register on the forums during the week prior to the event taking place. This is something I did way back in the day when I was Head of Events on the server I was GM for. Although it was pretty hectic when players did not listen it was really fun. Comments?
Rayray Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 On the allowed items. I am sorry to say but that would make certain classes stronger since this is a high rate server. I would have accepted just having Knight Set since everyone has it. Original iRO item pvp tournament works best in a low rate 99/70 server. In a high rate, it makes certain classes stronger than most, namely the Champion and SinX, with a special mention to Stalker. And since we had our own custom delays on most skills, I don't really think it would work.

I do not know as to how it flopped but how many years ago was that? Anyways a class is only as strong as a player can make it. Yes it puts some classes to an advantage but not all classes are built for 1 on 1 p.v.p. So of course you would pick pvp oriented classes to use to fight with. Surely you would not bring a priest to a PvP 1 on 1 tournament would you? jameslamela Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 champs will rock!!! 1 hit asura deads... gg. say goodbye GSs.. no kiels for us guys coz mvp cards is banned... no L.gun too therefore we got no shields.. no king set... no dex gounts... no zod.. no scarf... no fro items etc...!!! coz these items are not allowed!!! its no longer fro.... so for me NO.
zergling Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 it won't work. the lack of MVP cards means that you're going to be stuck with classes that can't spam for anything. for instance a sniper will be able to spam double strafe without having to worry about delay whereas a lord knight can only rely on the bowling bash because spiral pierce has a massive delay. things of that sort will cause problems with the event. also the fact that if it's a 1v1 fight without any custom items stalkers will go with a vit/dex/str build simply wait for the full strip tanking whatever it is then just hitting with double strafe or sacrifice. problem with assassin cross is that their damage will drop by a massive rate simply because of the weapon choice. they would have to choose between mostly 3 slots instead of the 4 slots, as well as the fact that if they use a dagger build they won't have enough HP to tank a good asura strike to the face. on the point of champions, i was here for the annihilation event and had a champ that was 100% non custom, and was able to fight full donate characters. all it would take is to use that and nobody would tank the asura. so champs would dominate in the event. especially if they are good champs and know how to snap dodge an instant cast asura.
