[Solved]Screen Went Black, Please Help!

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I was playing earlier today and it worked just fine for about an hour, afterwards the screen went black and I couldn't see anything. Here is what I tried so far:

Adjusting the settings

Reinstalling the full download multiple times

Restarting Computer

Making a new character

None of these worked for me. I don't know what to do. Here are my computer specs if it helps

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

Ram: 4GB

Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU 2.53GHz

Hayatori: It looks like something is up with the configuration and the cord. Can you make sure the card is selected in setup.exe? Can you add one of my contacts? I can guide you through this over IM. =]

Just to make sure PM Genesis your contact info as well. MSN at times needs invites from both sides.

Also first thing you should check is your setup.exe. Check the resolution box and make sure the resolution is not bigger than your actual screen resolution. That's the most frequent cause of the misplaced screen.

I notice that it only does this when the game switches to "night" mode. It goes completely black to where I can't see a thing. During the day it seems to work fine. I would like to be able to play this when it's night time at my house because that's usually when I get off work. Is there anyway I can fix this?

Hmmm. Try typing /lightmap .

If it doesn't work, try downloading the mouse freedom, it also helps you in a certain way. Click Me

I'm not sure how to fix it if both of em didn't work ><;

Well, goodluck! :)

I already gave you the most common cause and the most common solution. Perhaps try them ?

I tried those before you mentioned them. That didn't work however, it went back to normal yesterday and still working. I don't know what I did that made it stop but it works just fine now. I'll let you guys know when and if it happens again.

Try updating your direct X and graphic card drivers. Also is it only your RO client that gets effected by this or are there more things happening to your PC at the same time ? Do you have this with other games as well ?

It's only the RO client. What's weird is that it doesn't do it all the time but about 70 to 80% of the time. I'll try to update drivers and see what that does. I also have Directx 11.

Update:

I went to Prontera and the screen is still black unless I go inside the weapon shop. The weapon shop, I can everything just fine but when I leave the shop, the screen is black again.

Open your setup.exe and change the option called "use lightmap" see if that changes anything.

I did about everything I could possibly think to do in setup. Nothing is working. My drivers for my video card is up to date The screen is still black when I play it.

If you're running the client in administrator mode, then try running it normally. Or if you're currently running it normally, try running it in administrator mode.

Tried it both ways, didn't work. :(

This is gonna sound weird but try it anyway as I've only seen this problem once before.

1: log in if the map is black close your client.

2: open setup.exe set your client to fullscreen. Open your client. Log in.

3: it will probably still be black. Log out again.

4:change the settings back to none full screen and log in.

This might bring your client back to none-blackness however it's only a temp. solution.

Also this might sound silly but, make sure you're not zoomed out too far and dont try to change the camera angle with shift and right click.
