Never happens to me in league... only RO.

Run on High performance, not power saver. Might help.

Hmm Well It is Possible That Your Graphic card is Going Bad The #1 Sign is normally Monitor shuts off or it gose to sleep. But this Is just a guess lol

I am unsure how to test Wither or not the card is going Bad

If your using a Full screen Mode of Fro It is most possible to be this Check Your Fro set up and Make sure Yoru Running Fro in 32 Bit If Your Useing 64 bit by accident It can also Cause this Problem

Unfortunately, this can be caused by quite a lot of things such as :

1: Windows power settings

2: PowerNow! Settings ( Your CPU has it. This program causes your laptop to automatically use less power when the battery starts running out )

4: PSU starting to die.

4: GPU starting to die.

5: Overheating.

6: Even setup.exe configurations can cause it when it interferes with system settings.

First things first, you say this doesn't happen with other games. Which is good cause it rules out quite a few possibilities. Though I need to know, does it always do this with RO or only at times ?

I was running other games just fine. I then switched over to RO and my laptop would go to sleep mode. Tried 3 times and happened all 3 times... It's happened before but stopped... guess it fixed itself...

I restarted my laptop and for now it's not going to sleep. I would like to know the reason behind it so that it won't happen in the future though.

It probably has something to do with the battery settings of your laptop. Do you always play when it's plugged-in or without electricity as well ? And does it go to sleep as well when it's plugged in or not ? Edited by Ryuk

Could you help me out cause same thing happens to me but unlike him it happens whenever I play online games now (RO/League/Etc), it has never happened to me before. It doesnt happen unless I have a game open.

If it happens with all games then I'm afraid your computer/laptop might be overheating. Parts you'd have to look at for this are your CPU and GPU. There's several tools that can monitor heat by using the sensors on your motherboard. One of these programs is called HWmonitor. Try running this while you play a game and see what it does for your temperature.

Another cause could be that games require more power from your graphics card(GPU mostly) and as soon as your GPU takes more power your powersupply is no longer able to cope with your hardware. You could try running what they call a stresstest. Which pretty much uses your hardware to an excessive level to check if your powersupply is able to handle it or not.

I downloaded the HWmonitor thing and it shows the temperature values slowly rising as I play games over the max and sooner or later the laptop turns off. Is there another way to stop it besides buying a stronger fan in my laptop?...

You can always get a external fan. I personally likerr to use laptops on a hard wood surface like a table

Heat issues are quite hard to deal with with a laptop. An external fan is the most common solution. However you can also try playing the games on lower performance (Change Windows battery settings to Power Saver or Balanced instead of full performance and the temperature will most likely rise slower.

Also as cookie said. Make sure you use your laptop on a hard and solid surface. This way the hot air can escape the laptop easier.

I'm not sure if laptops have a heatsink that needs cleaning. Maybe the thermal paste. It's best to YouTube, "How to replace thermal paste on a laptop"

Normally when I laptop overheats is because dust is obstructing the way of the air going in to cool your processor, you may want to clean all the fan grills of your laptop first before you start buying anything that will possibly solve your problem partially.

And I believe that you used to play those games you mentioned before and nothing happened, so if it is overheating just cleaning the grills should do the trick, sometimes as cookiezzzz said replacing the thermal paste is a good move as well.

I did not mention anything regarding opening up the laptop cause it removes all warranties on the machine. Besides that reapplying thermal paste is a very risky option and can easily destroy more than do good. It's a precision job and should only be done if the original thermal paste was placed incorrectly.

Cleaning the heatsink and fans etc always helps. That's logical, however opening the laptop removes your warranty if you still have any. Also make sure you remove any static charges you got on you if you decide to open up your laptop. Ever had it that you touched something metal and ended up getting a little shock ? If any of those static charges get close to your motherboard is can easily destroy parts of it. So be careful with that.

I also recommend a low battery powered vacuum to clean the laptop, make sure the laptop is off and the fan cannot move. Personally I use a skewer to limit fan movement. Use the vacuum to help get rid of the dust.

Yeah Ryuk is totally right, I guess I forgot to add to my reply, "It's at your own risk".

Cookiezzzz solution is a great choice I saw this video on youtube of a guy cleaning the dust of his laptop with a vacuum, but I couldn't find it today so I can't link you to it. But anyway I will try to describe it.

He used a piece of paper to cover a third maybe a half part of the vacuum hose and just began vacuuming the fan through the air intake of the laptop.

Maybe that could do the trick without you having to open your laptop.
