[Solved]Failure To Connect On Windows 7

Recommended Posts

Okay. I have windows 7 and ever since I've gotten my new computer I have downloaded forsaken 3 times and it still will not patch or log on. I have went into my firewall and removed and re-allowed forsaken patcher and the application itself and I still havent been able to get it to work. I would be grateful if someone could maybe show me the trick to allow it online. I'd love to return and continue playing. I've missed forsaken =]

Thank you, Casey.

I'll try to help but I have some questions :

1) Are you in the real Administrator account?

2) Have you checked your modem settings? Their blocking something maybe, or the DNS.

Sorry can't help much. This is my first time encountering this, although if I fail to connect to the server, I just restart my modem plenty of times until I can log-in.

I had the same problem the trick was deleting all old fro files or anything that has to do with fro and download the all-in-one fro download on the website that's what fixed it for me.Please tell me if this works or not and keep us updated on the problem.

It could also be a thought to look under support and see if anyone else has had the same problem and do what they did to fix it.

@rei- Yes I'm on the admin account. Only one account on this computer. And I do not know if my modem is blocking it or not but I have also changed service providers and neither provider has allowed me to log on. *didn't switch just for forsaken xD*

@november- I have tryed deleting everything the fro folder and all its contents then downloading the all-in-one again and it still has yet to work.

I downloaded that and I copied the files into my existing ro folder but it has still yet to work. It will launch but it gives me the failure to connect every time. Grrr I need some assistance haha. Never had this problem with Vista and it was supposed to be the worst system lol.

Try the small patch, install it over your RO folder. that should work.

Any update on this issue? If not I'll close this topic. Re-installing should do the trick, as well as making sure everything is run as an administrator. Try redownloading the all-in-one if the issue persists.

You have to install forsaken-ro to your C drive, IE : "C:/Forsaken-RO" in order for your RO to patch or even launch on Windows 7 / Vista.

This is due to the folder security that is enabled by default.

So if you havent installed your ro to the C:/ drive and instead installed it to "C:/Program Files/Forsaken-Ro" That may be yoru problem.

Zac on vista you can install it anywhere you want. Besides folder settings won't deny access to internet, it would only deny access to the entire folder IF folder settings were altered. By default no folder like this one would be blocked..

^That. will do. Edited by Ryuk

O.o what ? lol. By default on windows 7, an external program trying to alter files in Program Files is blocked. This is a big problem especially for RO patchers. Probably bypassed by running that program as administrator. None the less, i hear you out ryuk, however ive had this similar problem, and i solved it by moving the path for RO. Anyway if what ryuk says to do fails, try my solution.

As stated above , I mentioned Vista not windows 7. And All you'd have to do with either of these is click on accept or run it as an admin. Not that much of an issue. The small patch should fix this problem though. Does not seem like an folder issue.
