Tajet Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 (edited) So after a few days of really just grinding for equips so I could start PvPing (I know good build and such, but all the shiny people are just so scary!), a question was brewed up in my noggin - Is the goal to just grind for carrots and grapes and eventually aloes and empty bottles... And still not really be able to PvP unless I donate? Unless I just grind for tooons of zeny and hope people are selling their gear? I don't know! I really like the look of the server, and all you guys, but is my fate to just mindlessly grind for a really long time until I can really start having fun and making friends? Thanks in advance all you guys! Edited January 3, 2011 by Tajet
Miracle Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 As I see it, we are very new-player friendly. The current Christmas Quests provide players with a viable means of an aura without having to wait to vote extensively. We have tons of questable headgears that are helpful in PvP, including most of the quests included in the integrated headgear questline (guide can be found on the forums). Voting Rewards/Event Rewards make up for the rest of the possible headgears you may want. Forsaken Soldier Equipment as your armor is a good first step (guide can also be found on the forums) and you can gain access to weapons by following through with the elite equipment quests. While it is true that most donation items are some of the top items in there class, WoE is also a viable means of items which are extremely useful. There are many paths to take in which you can begin to build your assortment of items. I recommend being active with questing for items to better your gear and being involved in a WoE guild which shares WoE drops or can provide help with you in means of either items or advice. Questing consumable which people may want is also a good means of making money. Just see what works for you, there certainly are a large number of ways to further yourself within our server! Never hesitate to ask for help.
Rayray Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Find yourself a helpful guild that WoE. eventually you will get drops from them. either sell those or keep it, it is your decision. rinse and repeat. if you are good enough in WoE, you might get rich faster.
Nadtorious Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 It takes time... Lil' Advice: Quest items and sell them, save enough and buy new items. If you see someone selling items really cheap buy it ! Then sell it for more and earn a little profit. One of the most fun thing is... Make new friends and MVP together and have the feeling of success after beating the MVP . (: Good luck !!
Xtopher Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Collecting and selling Pyroxene is also a easy way to make money. You can probably sell pyroxenes for 1pyro to 1 token if not then 2pyro to 1 token. The best way to make money is to do what the people with money don't want to do.
Veracity Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 I believe the staff is working on something that will solve this issue and help new players integrate into the server more. It should be released shortly, just try to bear with us until then. (:
Danny Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Questing for items such as Aura, Hats and Gears. Farming Yggdrasil Berries@for_fild02 or if you work hard enough to get a Forsaken Dungeon Pass(its worth it to get these), Speed Potions, Converters, Box of Storms. Cursed Water and Aloevera are in demand in the market now since they are largely use in War of Emperiu(or WoE) and PVPing. Just be patient, make new friends and go farm with them(problem is we need new players) lol it be awesome if you could invite your friends over to play fRO. MVPing or Hunt Monster Bosses. Get Elite Sets and Non-Donor Belts, join a guild and WoE with them, be active. Just work hard. P.S Don't forget to vote everyday. Invite your friends to play Forsaken RO.
Tajet Posted January 7, 2011 Author Report Posted January 7, 2011 Whaaat? You can get an Aura by questing? Rad!! And yeeea, I guess I can just farm tooons of Zeny, cause I see good things on sale pretty often! Thanks you guys :)
November Thunder Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 So after a few days of really just grinding for equips so I could start PvPing (I know good build and such, but all the shiny people are just so scary!), a question was brewed up in my noggin - Is the goal to just grind for carrots and grapes and eventually aloes and empty bottles... Thanks in advance all you guys! You don't have to donate to get good gears, donating to the server helps with server costs and any other fees that come with maintaining a server. Their is also lots of quests for headgears ,elite sets, and aura's that can help you, everyone gets to the point of being geared wether it's donating or farming/questing .
Wish Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Whaaat? You can get an Aura by questing? Rad!! Yes, you can! Like Miracle mentioned, we currently have two Christmas quests that give helpful auras, but are only offered for a limited time. Other auras you can get through voting or even by winning events. Some auras, such as the moon and day auras, don't cost too much!
Justice Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 We also have a ton of quest headgears, including the Dragon Aura, in fcity! Look for the building that has them all. : )
Danny Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 We also have a ton of quest headgears, including the Dragon Aura, in fcity! Look for the building that has them all. : )Dragon Aura > All Auras!!! LOL Yeah, We have like tons of Quest Hats, Like the +15All Stats Hats which their own different strip affects (Amistr Hat, Leafcat Hat, etc etc) And we the awesome, very long, tiring BUT definitly worth it, Intergrated Hats like Refined Deviling Hats, Medusa Hats, Helm of hermes. And I have to agree with [GM]Wish, Sun/Moon Auras are really cheap on the market now, which like around 10 tokens each. Non-Donor belts are like 5 - 8 each. Elite Sets are around 10 - 15each.
Seraphine Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Sun and moon aura's are now a quest go to que_moon to start the quest hope this helps!
Fur Elise Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Yeah, I thought the exact same thing. I joined, maxed. and I'm confused as to where to even start gathering items. But this thread was very helpful. :)
