That's a good idea. I once tried this server that had this event every hour, it was cool. :] Not sure if it's possible in fRO though.

I'm pretty sure that this has been suggested before and it was rejected. More than likely, we will not add any automated events. We try to allow players to interact with the GMs and give the server a more personal touch which would be completely lost if we had automated events. Plus, I think that making events automated would make it more difficult to prevent abuse and cheating (I really don't know though).

For minigames, could you elaborate/give examples?

minigames? hmmm.. i can't really think of any because i just saw some servers having automated events/minigames and i got interested of it.. maybe this would help the server because i think fRO is dying.. :\

minigames hhmmm i could give an example.. like uhhhh kill the one poring event... meaning when u kill the right poring u get 1 dq... and the event is hourly :) maybe that would work...

I like the idea of the minigames, so long as they are not abusable. It'd be nice if we could get more feedback on this and ideas.

Also, Ami, what makes you say you think fRO is dying?

The poring event is a mini game where there are a lot of differently named porings, only one with the correct name "Poring". The first player to kill the correct one wins the event. All the other players die or warped out of the map then there is an NPC where you can claim your prize. Am I right? I kind of like GM events more. It's like they are more exciting. Just an opinion.

I agree with Veracity, automated events are so impersonal, and if people are confused about how it works or something goes wrong, no one will be their to fix any problems/answer any questions that may arise. I don't completely DISAGREE with this suggestion, it could be cool as say, an automated dice in which everyone on the bridges/losing numbers get warped out excepted the people on the winning squares and is held every 2 hours or so, just in case the GM team is busy and is unable to host regularly. But I don't really see that being a problem, so I have to disagree with automated events, though not completely against it's concept, I just see it as being unnecessary.

make these npcs host new events like in turbo room and make it a race. or maybe auto dice were it warps out people who stand on the wrong number. disguise event was kind of broken i think on some servers, but if you guys can get it then that would be a good one. all the other events like hide&seek, password, lms, team lms and such should be left to real gms.

Race automated is sort of a good idea. Kind of useless though.

Automated dice would require editing the map where dice is hosted and the map is about the size of 5 pronteras tall and 8 wide. So it would be hard to do for combining the script and map codes together.

There is an automated last man standing even that is well coded and available to be used for free. But like other people have said it will make GMs obsolete to an extent.

In the New Event thread the only good thing I see that would be nice to become automated would be the poring event.

How about a lottery event?

Lot of players would invest zeny in the lottery npc.The npc would choose a random winner and broadcasts his/her name.The price can be 7 event coupons.

And limitations can be given ,if a player invest zenny once,they cannot invest for the next 30 mins.The lottery winners name can be broadcasted anytime so randomly.

about what i said, that fRO is dying, what i meant is that the ranking in the top ragnarok which is that fRO is almost at the bottom list of the servers.

i dont really have ideas on minigames, but some other ppl got, so they can provide for me.. :)

Uhmmm..... have you guys ever heard of the turbo track in alde..? or the battle arena in izlude?

fRO can easily adopt the same concepts and make the areas accessible from fcity?

It's unlikely major events would become automated ones, but we'll see. I think the more personal touch of GM hosted events is the best. I'm not opposed to adding automated mini-games or something of that nature, though. It's something the staff will have to discuss. Thanks for your suggestion!
