Xtopher Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 I think it's impossible to distinguish between those who got it at 10% (if anyone did) and those that didn't... there's really nothing you can do about it at this point. I wouldn't agree with taking them out anyway seeing how it would cause a serious QQ fit and people may leave.... Sometimes life is unfair....
Sand Wraith Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Actually. A certain someone happened to get into the SQL, and by doing so made a ton of thanatos cards. That is how there are so many in the current economy.
veg Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 m not agree thana rate to 10%.. if the thana card rate is change others also want IP[1] to be change.. so 70% yes 30% no
nines Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 .5% would be fine. ohh also think of this ice pick [4] BUM BUM BUM!
Genesis Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Actually. You are wrong, they are x because the drop rate was 10%. Don't go around spreading rumors, specially considering each one of them has a specific serial number provided by the mob when it drops. If that person would have created Thanatos Cards, the serials would not match.
jorgesilvera Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) What abaut 2.5%? 10% will unbalance the server and 0.01% is realy low. Everyone have skolls card that help to conter it. Edited July 13, 2010 by jorgesilvera
ecstasy19 Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) i strongly disagree thanatos card drop rate to be changed, i think it should stay and remain 0.01% Edited July 14, 2010 by ecstasy19
Poringly Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Actually. You are wrong, they are x because the drop rate was 10%. x? Anyway, i think the Thana drop rate is fine the way it was. If you guys want Thana card so badly, Go work hard Mvp it with what? Take turn Mvp,Summon,Bloody Deadbranch or w/e. Or you can Agree in this forum so you can summon thana with just 20 Event Coup, yada yada. :D.
Xtopher Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I think that if it was changed it should be .1-.5%... definitely no higher than 1%. It's meant to be challenging to get, but I feel that people who devote the time should be rewarded eventually. At .01% someone could devote so much time and never be rewarded for it.
Rayray Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I killed thana about 10 times a week a long time ago. NO CARD lol. .1 would be good i think. and some people should stop spreading rumors of how they got their thana by hacking or accessing the SQL or something else. it is kinda annoying :p
Terroryst Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Lol, you guys say Skolls make Thana obsolete and even gives an advantage over Thana because of the HP boost. Yes, it does. But PvP obviously isn't always 1v1 in which you can switch between your gears in a stable manner. In a ganging situation, you can be hit with multiple kinds of hits, ie Asura, Thana, magic, and normal Incant. How much can Skoll help you there?

Thanatos Card isn't "Obsolete", it just isn't as powerful as it was when the server first started because of things like the Champion nerf and so many Skoll cards being in circulation. So I don't believe it's as big a threat to have the drop rate go up a little as it would have been in the past. In a ganging situation you're generally screwed if you're fighting some sort of combination like what you mentioned. Best you can really do is get some friends to help...
Terroryst Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 That wasn't really a reply to the suggestion, it was more of a reply to the people saying Skolls make Thana obsolete.
jorgesilvera Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Even in Iro the rate is more high
jorgesilvera Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) all cards in iro are .01%. the rate in some serves is 0.01 and other 0.02 andt hey allways have event rate that bost x2 or x3 Edited July 15, 2010 by jorgesilvera
Kittie Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 the rate in some serves is 0.01 and other 0.02 andt hey allways have event rate that bost x2 or x3 Those servers aren't iRO like you mentioned before. I think the drop rate is fine atm. I don't think you need a Thanatos card to be a good player. I don't use one on my clown!
Sorrow Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Being a good player or not, isn't the focus or idea of the topic. It is about equal and fair chances to all players to reach the same spot. How to obtain an item, not how to use it or possible substitutes.
Terroryst Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 I'd rather call the 10% glitch an abused error rather than a chance.
Kittie Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 I feel like this suggestion is saying "some people abused the bug, so let the rest of the players abuse it to." Obviously, I think that explains my thoughts on this matter.
Xtopher Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 The drop rate of the card was already to high as is when it was at 10%. We had the drop rate down graded for a good reason, because the card itself was already over powered. Actually. You are wrong, they are x because the drop rate was 10%. I feel like this suggestion is saying "some people abused the bug, so let the rest of the players abuse it to." I still don't really understand if this was a "glitch" or a "bug" or if they just downgraded the drop rate. Numinous and Genesis's responses make me feel as if it was actually set at 10% then they decided to lower it because they decided it was too high. If I'm wrong about this then please, one of the administration, let me know. But if this is the case then it's not about people abusing something. Regardless: Raising the drop rate helps everyone, not just those without cards. If you already have one then 1. You could attempt to get another for use, or 2. You could attempt to get another to sell. The only drawback is that current Thanatos cards would drop in coupon value because eventually there would be more in circulation if the drop rate was increased.
Kittie Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 I feel like this suggestion is saying "some people were able to get a Thanatos card easily because of an initial server mistake, so let the rest of the players get it too, even after the administrators of ForsakenRO realized they should have set the drop rate lower and still agree that Thanatos should not have been and still should not be easily accessible." Obviously, I think that explains my thoughts on this matter. Fixed for you Xtopher. Either way, it obviously shouldn't be raised.

It was a glitch because one of the players screwed with the SQL and thus Genesis had to rollback the server and the Thanatos card and Ice Pick was switched to 10% like every other MVP.
