Oppa Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 makes it hella difficult to even MOVE sometimes, due to the massive ammounts of lag, this numbers generate... when GMs do an Ecall, man fukc its like....freeze for 30 secs, u click somewhere, n its at like 5 pixels per sec... after u move... then ure gettin TPd cuz some SinX already broke ur emp...its retarded. get rid of the numbers of the dmg showing up in there pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase
Ethereal Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I believe there's a reason as to why we enabled damage values to be viewed during WoE. In the past, many of us weren't able to see the damage values, so we couldn't never exactly tell how much damage was calculated. But then came along a certain group of people (I believe it was a guild) who edited their clients, and allowed them to see the damage calculations. There were many complaints and it was kind of unfair for others, so we just decided to enable it.
Tiago Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Then by all means there must be people out there editting their clients so they *don't* see the damage, am I rite? Still doesn't sound fair to me. Once again, I'd suggest a command such as @dmg which would let users change that the way they wanted.
Anarii Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Maybe provide an optional alternative client without damage?
Devotion Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Yeah, when Tick suggested this (long time ago) there was talk of a way to make a command so you could switch damage on/off. I think we accepted it, but I don't know where the topic is now, it was very old.

It is annoying to have all those numbers popping up all over the place, and it does create A LOT of lag. I Like the Toggle Damage idea, just make a command so people with slower connections dont lag out.
Antagonist Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 If I'm not wrong, IRO woes or most legit server woes don't show damage during WoE simply because of the massive number and lag it causes, I'm all up for this suggestion, I think its a good one. I hope this gets passed

Just in case this is somewhat unapproved, it would be best if the bubble box(that's shaped like a cloud with sharp edges), kinda like the ones we see when we do a critical damage, only be shown when you hit the Emperium. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zero. Sensation Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 There's no simple way to make the damage toggle on or off, it'll need multiple clients to allow the difference. The problem with the client is that I am unable to compress it.
Nyanko Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Yespls. It's so laggy in WoE mainly because of that.
kuoch Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I say yes! Sweet idea, since it's hard enough to walk inside an emp room, let alone seeing the damage calculation, which making it 2 times laggy.
Sensation Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 People who will figure out how to enable it again will gain an advantage, let's hope there won't be massive QQ this time when it's implemented.
f8playah Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 (edited) laggyness turns my screen into white do you guys have an idea how to fix this? QQ Edited December 5, 2009 by f8playah
Forum~ Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 YES PLEASE!! in the emp room, i have a 30 second delay, it's so bad. (at like 2 fps) i'm forced to go pre-emp if i actually want to be productive. these past woes have been so intense... lagfest.
n i k k o Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I think this is amazing idea. When you Hit emp its kind of hard to see ur damage so maybe a command that takes off all damage from other chars would be good. but at the same time no matter what someone is always gonna complain. If you take numbers off then people cant time there breaks thus not being able to hit the emp at the right time. cause i time my frenzy to break emp lol
Apo Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 (edited) Server damage disabled isn't for lag purposes only, it was only meant to disable dmg calculation so people are clueless about dmg they do to the emp or players during a woe. Some servers only shows 1 dmg for every hit Edited December 5, 2009 by Apo
nines Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 People who will figure out how to enable it again will gain an advantage, let's hope there won't be massive QQ this time when it's implemented. I see no advantage in knowing your damage in woe...Yes its nice to know but your damage will be the same even with a different client. I enjoyed the woe system with no damage shown on people, made you figure out ways to reduce damage and think more carefully and lag less etc. If you could see damage on emperium that would be awsome. But the hexing of the client and in the trunk system would be annoying to set that up so you can see damage on emperium in woe and not on players. This is a great idea to solve the Major Lag Defense that Royal Mafia and Influence uses, and even without mass people during woe just desperado damage shown on like 3 people lags me. but then again im on a pos laptop that freezes just typing this lol.
Groxy Drank Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 LOL Nines poor laptop dude. But after all that wasnt needed to bring about the laptop, i agree with nines somethin needs to be done for the lag in woe and disable dmg is one of the best suggestions. And lets face it all the good breakers know their dmg i mean it wont change from 1 woe to another if u havent changed your build. And like it was said by someone else before u can test your damage with False Angels (OLD SCHOLL STUFF)
Wish Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Damage display in WoE has been disabled for now. - Accepted -
