eXile Posted August 6, 2009 Report Share Posted August 6, 2009 Imake this post in hoping of changing the system. i pk in lhz and for_fild and I've seen/felt that many people comes, attack you and then into warp portals or warp away (for example a champion comes, asura you,and warps way and is warp abuse). What I'm asking for is if it'd be possible to add 10 seconds (like pvp, when you attack someone you can't warp) before you can enter in a warp portal. Like in WoE that says "this warp is unavalible". In that way we could prevent some warp abuse cases.And better chance of ppl not acting as noobs i hope ul look into it Thank you Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ethereal Posted August 6, 2009 Report Share Posted August 6, 2009 It may seem like a great idea to some people, but in truth, it's not. Adding a delay to warp will highly annoy players a lot. What about hunting? PK is enabled on those maps, so that means wizards have to have a 10 second delay then warp? It's very irritating. I believe we used to have it at one point (or it was just me on my old server) and I did not find that fun at all. Example: You warp to an area on your character and your collecting X item. You kill Y monster for X item then you have to wait 10 seconds to warp again. After a while these increments of 10 seconds add up to a lot of time and annoyance. I'm trying to think of a way to make this work with just players, but I just don't see it working... Sorry. Devotion Posted August 7, 2009 Report Share Posted August 7, 2009 eXile, as much as I know what you're saying, the other players are right when they say that all players need it for efficient hunting of items that are expended usually very quickly. Look at it positively; these players don't gain ladder kills by killing you. The way you worded your suggestion, it sounds like you go to lhz to pk. If that's the case, we have pvp rooms. And they're underused, seeing as there is usually more people in for_fild01 than in our pvp rooms. Why ever that is, they're there to prevent people from warping out after killing you. If you choose to pk on free for all maps, then you have to take the good with the bad, like with everything else. I foresee players abusing that in popular pvp areas, but the pvp rooms should be used more frequently anyway. And since this is a PK server, and many come here for that aspect, I don't know if @pk is the right thing. I just don't know how to code it and stuff, and I'd really appreciate if someone from our coders can reply to this question. As far as I'm concerned, I'm at the idea I stated. I've been on servers with similar commands and people just switch it off, kill you, then switch it back on so you can't kill them. The only way to stop that would be put a delay on @pk, but then we're going down a slope of delaying things, and people don't like that. The idea of making a delay that is specific to after hitting a player is nice, but I don't really see how its possible. Also, I feel a 3 second delay is more plausible than 10.... 10 seconds is a long time in pvp, especially on this server. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought your stand was that this was a PK server and people should know they could get killed when they warp to maps. As of the delay, you need to get more complaints for this to happen. I only point out factors that could contribute to the end decision. In the end the player choice is more powerful than any one person could say. Well I already discussed making thor_03, anthell01, and lhz_dun03 , non-PVP maps w/ Genezues, he seems to liek it. As for for_fild01, that'd be like; deleting everyone's accounts, making the site as a whole go kaboom, shutting down the server, then erasing any existence of fRO. Positive for some? Yes. Negative for most? Yup. Everyone would QQ because NOONE LIKES CHANGE!11111 For_fild01 doesn't really = newbs being killed while they level anyway...
