Does it have anything to do with people losing faith in/respect for mathematics / science?
At least that's what I interpret "the perimeter of the parabola [deciding] to wither" as.
However the other two have to do with birth, marriage and families ("fallopian tube", "polygomy [sic]"); perhaps "parabola" has some other meaning, other than the obvious mathematical one? The only definition I can find is the function (f(x) = y²).
Or are they unrelated?
Also the word "wither" intrigued me. Initially I wondered how a defined, unchanging purely mathematical concept can "wither", however the word "wither" has another, interesting definition:

And humanity living in bliss and happiness (effervescence)?
