Its a matter of improving the server, is it not? If a person feels they aren't helping or someone isn't getting up to par with what they need to do. Hey, something should be done. Damascus Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 one thing I have to counter: If a GM holds amazing events and tries to help as much as possible, but he/she has little to no pvp experience or experience for the gameplay in terms of cards and gears, that person is automatically not chosen? Make that clear for me, your statement wasn't clear. You made it sound like they have to be very ro knowledgeable to qualify. Only one issue is that you need experience upon RO in general to be chosen as a Forsaken Ragnarok online GM. Don't forget this server is based on Ragnarok Online and just recently I've been helping players that have no idea about Ragnarok Online because they never play the main server they just come straight to the private server. Hiei showed no professionalism whatsoever regardless of her efforts to help which conclude that she wasn't really qualified. Genesis could hire just about any player to hold Events and tell them to name a file data123 or download the Valhalla patcher. But if the player could write beyond the 3ed grade level and do that while telling others where to get cards, specify locations and even detail them stuff about the game itself and introduce them to new things then that could be a GM. i culd rite like a noob 2, but wouldnt this b funni as a gm???? ^^

Of course a person that doesn't know left from right on RO shouldn't be a GM. But if they know where npc's are, where this and that is, basic pvp, basic char builds etc, plus have the good grammar you suggest and manners, why would they be anything less than an applicant who knows all the nooks of pvp?

At least if the person knew about RO well enough to pinpoint an NPC or about cards, locations and basically the general mechanics of RO and had good grammar and great social abilities will they be a good GM applicant. Hiei on the other hand lacked all of that while Nostalgia had an incredible drama while being a GM and lied to the people. I assure you, you don't want a liar above you, do you? @Ryoji: Unfortunately you're the ignorant one ignoring all of the facts already placed before you telling you the truth and the possible requirement to be a GM that was failed to be met by both Nostalgia and Hiei.

The purpose of this thread is for future incoming GM's NOT flaming over the fact Notsalgia & Hiei were fired. They're gone, weather it was their own choice or the staff's, they're gone. No point in complaining over it.

No I don't want a liar, but I also don't want a power hungry moron, or a cheater, or an abuser, or anything like that. But understand that no one is going to impress 100% of the crowd, so you have to let the little things go. I think Hiei had her heart in the right place. And a little thing about grammar. I watched a youtube video where a Chinese scientist was talking about super novas. I hard a hard time understanding his english, but he was so unbelievably smart. A person's grammer shouldn't always count....imo

Knowing how to spell correctly and where to put commas, periods, apostrophes, hyphens, etc. aren't the only things that qualify someone of higher authority. If someone is chosen to be a GM, it's not based on their ability to spell or punctuate, they're chosen for a reason that obviously makes them good enough. If they're good at what they do, and the majority of the community likes them, then that's all that should matter. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's the internet, it's not a college essay you're handing in that depends on your future. Get over it.
