Elemental Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Hello, Recently I thought to myself; I want to play RO again. (After a year or so) So I looked for a good server on gamesites200, and found this one. So then I did the usual stuff; Downloaded the newest kRO and kSakray (Ragnarok & Sakray 03-05-2008), and installed them. Then I downloaded your installer (FRO_Installer.exe or something.) and installed it (Yes, I've installed it all in the same folder.), and then patched it. Well, obviously it didn't work because I forgot to patch kRO and sakray, so I did that, and after that I patched fRO again, started it up, and again, got a blue screen. Anyone knows how to fix this? 'Cause I really want to start playing again. Thanks in advance, Elemental.
Emy Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 I'm not sure what to tell you. I don't know how to fix this. All I can say is you chose a good server, so stay here XD
Defiance Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 From what I know, the blue screen is a Windows-related problem. Lets just wait until a higher GM tends to your problem. Anyway, hello and welcome to ForsakenRO.
Elemental Posted May 20, 2008 Author Report Posted May 20, 2008 Nothing...? Noone...? Great... Btw, I only get a blue screen with FRO launcher, not if I launch just kRO, or Sakray. dunno if this helps? HELP PLOX, I WANNA PLAY!! xD
Elemental Posted May 20, 2008 Author Report Posted May 20, 2008 Windows XP. Nice avatar btw, Grimmjow rocks
Elemental Posted May 21, 2008 Author Report Posted May 21, 2008 I just downloaded a different Private Server client, and that one worked just fine. Though I don't like that server, so I'd really like this problem fixed.
Genesis Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Try instead of running the patcher running "Fkenro" its an exe thats where you installed ForsakenRO.
Sensation Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Do you have time to screenshot the BSOD message? Normally they leave an error type behind so you can trace it on their support sites. That the patcher gives you a BSOD is exceptional, since it's basicly the same patcher as the kRO and Sakray ones, except modified for private use. The patcher shouldn't be a problem, it might be that you still use the old patcher and client too. In that case I'd like to ask you to send us a screenshot of your RO folder.
Elemental Posted May 21, 2008 Author Report Posted May 21, 2008 I've already tried using Fkingro.exe, and even replaced it with the alternative client that came with it in a .rar file. I don't think I can screenshot a Blue screen message, and even if I can, I don't think I would be able to paste it in paint, or whatever. I'll upload a screen of my RO folder. Since it's quite big, I'll just post a direct link to the screenie. http://i26.tinypic.com/6s3vgx.jpg

Elemental Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 Didn't work, Zeitgeist :( Why'd the name of the data folder effect wether or not I'd get a blue screen? (It was a completely empty folder, btw :S) Any other ideas ? And ViciousGamer04, please don't make useless posts to get your post-count up.
ViciousGamer04 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Didn't work, Zeitgeist :( Why'd the name of the data folder effect wether or not I'd get a blue screen? It's on topic, i'm expressing my feelings as i've once had the blue screen of death before. I'm not sure how I fixed everything so I felt that it was important to well like I said earlier, express my feelings! So in turn I make you feel less bad about your blue screen of death, does that really make for a useless post? and uh, trust me. I could really care less about post count. haha =P
Sensation Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I did some research, it could be your graphic card. Update your drivers to start with. Also go to setup.exe and send me screenshot of that window (It's in your RO folder).
