og47 Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 Hi, I came back to play RO after a hiatus of many years, tried a couple of servers then found this one which reminds me of the High rate server i used to play back in the day, looking to enjoy this server i have come to have many issues, which in one way or another keep repeating themselves even after applying the fixes on the troubleshooting guide or the different posts on the forum: Here's a list of my issues: Game Lags Horribly *when it runs* ( i have a 100 Mpbs connection, GTX 970 and core i5 with 8 gigs on ram, game is stored on a SSD) Many resolution problems (going back and forth with trying settings on opensetup.exe and setup.exe) At first the game didn't launch, now freezes after changing maps (Map loads and when it gets to 100% it freezes) when the game does run it has issues #1 or #3 which in the end makes the game unplayable. as i stated i have tested many servers without having any issues thus my question is why you give your public a piece of software that need so much tinkering and going through so much trial and errors going from bug to bug and make them pray to have any luck that one of the changes they apply fix the game? Here's a list of fixed i've tried: running all in compatibility mode (windows xp sp3, windows 7, windows vista, you name it) changing opensetup.exe from lua to reg, viceversa, trying all the engine options it presents and trying windowed or not windowed. downloaded the full client twice , applied the manual patch, manual patch to another client, etc... have tried them all with issues still ongoing. i don't know what else to try to have an enjoyable experience at your sever, any last effort i should try? BR,
Genesis Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 1. More than likely latency. The server is hosted in Texas, you are in the Dominican Republic. You should not really be having latency issues. I would run a tracert to see what hop is having the issue. 2. You should be using setup.exe, full screen does not work for RO on Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. 3. Run the fkenro.exe and the ForsakenRO Patcher.exe in administrative mode, that should resolve this issue. None of what you have listed is an issue on our end. They come with playing a 15 year old game on modern hardware and software. if you have any further questions, feel free to message me on skype at jorgeluisf350.
