GodspeedXIII Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Well, out of pre-examination tension I took some time to find a decent RO server that I don't have to spend days on leveling up to have a decent character to play. And I found this. Greetings and nice to meet you everyone. Despite my uh..."generic cool word and number XIII" name, I beg you not to consider me lame or n00bish. I'm an ex-veteran who quit at about episode 6 due to falling grades and sudden realization of RO's repetitive hack-slash-hack nature (the pleasure is actually with building a character, not the long hours of...that). I used to create the strangest of builds that turned out 90% crappy and was a penniless player, aside selling spoils my rarest drop in my RO career turned out to be a mere whisper card lol. Okay, enought rants and ramble. I'm from Thailand, and I'm told to be one of the nicest and friendliest guys online. If you find me ingame, stop by and say hi! And, uh, I'm still having a hard time logging in, in fact, I can't even build a character now even though the server being online and few people are on. Well, gotta try some more. See ya.
Hrist Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 The new face of RO has steered far from its previous "hack and slash" nature. The latest episodes had made the classes stronger, better, and faster in killing that it has became a battle of strategies than just your average attack and win games. A strategy that triumphs over the others', thats forsakenRO to you. Welcome. /no1
GodspeedXIII Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 Thanks for such a quick response, Hrist. And it's good to hear that I'll be having a better time than say, 5 years ago. In my absence, although not catching up with the updates and news, I still try out the stat simulator and stuff to refresh my database from time to time. Anyway, bad news arises. I've been trying to connect to the server to no avail, and came to conclusion that it's my "Wireless LAN paired with old PC" thing. The thing is, by normal use my computer keep crashing with my connection turned on, evidently from hardware conflict, and there are slow and dead connection intervals. That means, my poor old compy and this rascal of a wireless PCI, a generation apart, won't work together for ForsakenRO. I guess I will be able to *officially* join you when I can connect my PC through the old-fashioned wire-d LAN. And that have to wait 'till after March 20th. For the time being, I'm looking forward to join you guys. I'll stop by this forum now and then, see ya! P.S. If you find, uh, my mode of speech a little disturbing. Well, I grew up from an Online text role-playing community and this has become my indispensable habit, both on forums and MSN conversations. Besides this is the only way I can practice English as a second language (it's sad that I don't have any English-speaking friends in person). Do spare me typos and endure my long rambling paragraphs.
Hrist Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I'm from the same kind of community as well. Although my English is not superb compared to others, I still try my best to follow the proper grammar guidelines. Who knows, we might battle sometime in a text-roleplaying match. But to tell you honestly, I kind of outgrown that kind of thing already. I hope to see you in-game soon.
Arcane Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Oh my God~ I love they way you right~ It's so refined and interesting~ Wow~~ /no1 Welcome then~~ xDD I hope I didn't weird you out lol~ See ya in-game~ I often hang out at fcity so please PM one of my characters if you have time~ xD Take care~
GodspeedXIII Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 That's cool! Although I still like the text RP, but as you said. We all have other priorities of life. But honestly, Hrist, you can be one of the people I can count on in this community. I think I can see that as quick as two posts ^_^. And pardon me if I appear to be too forward, but I suggest we should talk more. It's like this when I first join GameFAQs or my role-playing forum, and now I have many good friends who come to me (on MSN or via PM, actually) for matter outside of the community like music or life issues. Consider adding me on MSN, although I'm by no means pushing you for it, thanks!
GodspeedXIII Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 Ah, thanks, Arcane. Nice to meet ya, too! And no you didn't startle me at all ^_^. By the way, what is fcity? I don't know anything beyond Umbala episode.
Icon Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 fcity = forsaken city = custom fRO main town = fun fun fun Welcome to the forums hope to see you in game soon
GodspeedXIII Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 Update: After Genesis' help (Thanks!) I believe I can finally join you in the game now...wishing it wouldn't be in short intervals since my PC goes haywire everytime I move around a lot with wireless connection on. Before I start I have one more question. Since I wandered around the forum a abit I heard about the doners, competitive PvP environments, transcedent builds doing 10k+ a bang. And everybody just building up their characters to the max. I wonder if there's a space for casual playing, going around wearing moderate gears, up the stats/skills properly, slowly learning the game and just enjoy it all without actually having to thrive and own others? Would seeing someone dish out less damage than what the perfect builds do leads to urges of bickering? I won't complain if I'm the weaker among others, and that's the essence of casual gaming. And on top of that, as mentioned before, I have other proirities of life. Is there going to be a space for me? That's my last question, and my last doubt.
Genesis Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Of course, any and all items can be obtained via quests or events. I do recommend you collect the required items for the Forsaken Elite Sub Class, which is a very nice boost.
Versace Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Welcome to the server, if you need help with anything be sure to ask me :]
SweetSerenity Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Hi and welcome to Forsaken! I'm Serenity~ Feel free to PM me in game! - SweetSerenity - I really love your grammar skills and for someone with English as a second language that is just amazing. It reminds me of an old friend of mine from another forum~ Anyway you'll have to bare with my LOLs and ROFLLLLs and random stuff like that~ Just a very...mmm...energetic person! I really do laugh that much O_O; And so welcome again!
NiDo Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Of course, any and all items can be obtained via quests or events. I do recommend you collect the required items for the Forsaken Elite Sub Class, which is a very nice boost. right if you dont have money to donate you can do the elite quest and have good items but not as good as forsaken king items. btw its on your card combos that will improve your character build.
Optima Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Welcome to Forsaken - Ro, please feel free to PM me if you have any questions
GodspeedXIII Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 One obvious observation (yes, the OOO) May I ask what's happening to the equipment drop rates? (yeap, I know it's the economy reason) Are they not 100% or do they have to be bough/obtained by some other means? Edit: Solved, my bad.
GodspeedXIII Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 Y'know, it's sarcastically funny to find that I've already killed 3 topics in Off-topic forum, lol. And what have in my head right now is a topic that will sure to kill you guys with boredom. RAGNAROK TEXT RP!! Gah!! *Machinegun'd down by Bad ideas defender squad*
GodspeedXIII Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 I guess I'll hog this topic as a mini-blog, at least it's better than making multiple topic around the forum, right? This is well after a seven-day streak of non-stop fRO, and even though I still missed out all the PvP and WoE and events. As I don't have much hard times leveling and gathering items/make zenies, most of my brains went to building the characters. (Still remember those "mindless drone" days clicking away on the same monsters for hours...) I said this personally to [GM]Genesis and I'm gonna say it again that this has been the fullest RO experience. I still can't remember how and where should I gather ygg's. But moc_pryd04 Isis' spoils nets me about 2-4M+ per one ASPD potion session, which is enough since I didn't bother the elite/huge stat boosters, though. And so, in seven days I came up with 12 characters (full account!) in thier high 100s levels. I was a little bit startled by the "killing on-spot" people, but...PK environment explains itself. Amongst my 12 characters, at first my creator turned out to be the worst, heaving his axe around and my card set was not so reliable(but I still love it when he got auto AR)...but once he has his homunculus and his ASPD starting to reach speed crack state, he became my favorite character that instant. The reason I telling you all this is because, well, I'm not going to be that active on fRO anymore, "college life" would explain my reason well. Even though I haven't made much friends I just want to give thanks to those who pass by and lend hands, or even to some novices whom I give starting funds. Well, I'd still stop in now and then , though. Remember that my character's names are distinguished by the unnecessary _underscores_ if you find any of them, just say hi or ask for free buffs if it is my priest. See you guys later. Zvane_Godspeed - DDSinX Pascal_Smith_Jr. - Battle whitesmith Judas_Visceriot - Battle high priest Jukka_Solstir - Wiz Zild_Rietzche - Falconer sniper Jian_Rietzche - Melee/Range hybrid stalker. Krizalid_Del_Mayan - 2H Knight (speed crack) Quentin_Dragunov - Spear/Shield hybrid Paladin Otis_Louphael - Crit Katar SinX Rutzger_Ernstz & Titania - Battle Creator and Lif2 (So cute!) Aleksandr_Kalashnikov - Gunslinger a.k.a. AK-47 Goethe_Zuhler - Combo Champion These are all "fun" builds, so they all actually get pwned in PvP. Still, it's been fun!.
Arcane Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Ooh nice blog you have there~ I haven't met you in game yet.. /sob
