Improving The Dragon Knight System!

Dear fRO community,

We're looking to you for ideas on how we can revamp and improve the Dragon Knight system a.k.a the Order of the Dragon!

What are new and interesting features we can add to it, and how can we make it more appealing and rewarding for you? Does the system need a new name and/or terminology changes?

We'd love to hear your thoughts on this, since we hope to continuously improve it and make it an important cornerstone of the server.

1. More incentive to do it. At the moment, there are basically no incentive to gain dragon knight status as it is not completely finished yet. The things I can think of are:

a. Hidden Quests that you can only do if you are a dragon knight. Your level as a dragon knight also matters. Rewards that I can think of are Helms that have the same effect as valk helms or an improved Dragon Aura( I REALLY LOVE THAT AURA AND IT FITS HERE). Of course, it has to be untradeable so that the economy won't be hit.

b. An aesthetic that shows you are a dragon knight. I cannot think of anything at the moment though.

2. Storyline. I honestly love quests that has a great storyline.

3. More ways to gain fame as a solo player. Getting party members for raids for fame is way harder than getting members for ring quest raids.

Personally I don't care for the storyline side as much as other people are I'm sure. All I care about is will it be worth the time to actually grind the ranks and what not for the bonus stat points. Right now it requires rank 8 for +5 all stats on fset but seeing as how most fully geared people don't use fshield or fhelm so we lose 2 all stats and for the points required I don't think 3 all stats is nearly enough the time it will take to achieve rank 8, since the raids only give around 50~150 points. And yeah I like what Ray said about the aesthetic that shows you're a dragon knight, but don't care for the hidden quest part of his suggestion too much.

On the aesthetic part and dragon aura. Why not combine it? I mean the dragon aura completely fits in this, Is it possible to have a different color of an improved dragon aura that changes depending on your rank? well you will be given the normal color like what we have atm when you reach rank 2 or 3. when ranking up it is taken and replaced by a different color with minimal stat boost on it but of course should be untradable.

I like this, but I also don't like the idea of replacing my emperium.

This is exactly my point on why I separated them. We should not force people to use the dragon aura just to see them as dragon knights. I just wanted the dragon aura to be an alternative to what we have now.

I don't like the idea of adding stats to an aura depending on rank, that would make it pass over the emp aura at one point, which is something we do not want as Emps should still be the best aura around. My idea was to give the aura +20 stats fixed the moment it is given(after doing a quest, requiring you to have dragon knight status), then it just changes color depending on your dragon knight rank and gain like movement speed or effect that would not make it go over emps.

Well when you turn on Dragon Knight mode or whatever it is called you get a red lightning aura around your character, maybe the color of the lightning could dictate your rank instead of complicating things and just add bonus stats to that specific character.
