Is There Some Way I Can Stop Getting One-shot..?

Hello. I'm new to the game after about 5 years of not having played, and I made a High Wizard for farming. I am brand new, so I have nothing -- no cards, no idea how to use cards, nothing but the stats that a brand new character would have. I'm trying to do the legendary quest to get the knight gear for one of my characters.

I have a big skill delay, which I was told I fix by getting Kiel cards -- although I have no idea how to obtain those (I know they are from an MvP, which I am certain I would not be able to kill, so I am putting that on the backburner for now).

Anyway, biggest issue is this:

I'm trying to farm up the Chivalry Emblems for the first part of the quest, but I keep getting one-shot by other farmers. I have a clip with a Creamy card so I can try to teleport away, but, well, skill delay. I'm dead before it lets me even hit my 'F1' key. Should I sacrifice my STR stats into Vitality? These are my stats:

str 83+33

agi 139+54

vit 1+45

int 300+50

dex 105+45

luk 1+35

I understand it's a PK server so I'm not bothered by the fact that people are able to kill me freely -- I'm bothered by the fact that it's such a huge gap between what I'm able to do as a complete newbie, and others who know what they're doing. It is very painful and frustrating to die all the time, and not do as much dmg as others, when I am just trying to do this quest so I can try to be less bad. :\ It feels like a catch-22, I suppose.

tl;dr version:

what clothes am i supposed to be wearing that i can buy from a vendor or get off a monster?

is there something wrong with my stats?

what cards is a beginner supposed to use that i can get from monsters?

/cry

Thank you for any help, and I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum location -- I couldn't quite tell where to put it.

in my opinion. yes. you should add some vit. u dont really need max int while farming chivs. and another tip is that. get necromancer staff. it gives mdef reduction to mobs mdef. it will be helpful to replace the lost int u put into vit.

also u can use 2 green ferus cards for the meantime in any slotted boots u can find.

also using thara frog card in shield is ok if u cant find usakoring card.

^^, and another thing. u can try to finish the silver mvp quest. and get silver mvp cards. suck as silver kiel etc etc that has half the effect of the normal mvp cards. in this way u can get a bit of after a cast delay even without using much kiels. the silver mvp card quest are on the wiki. you can check them.

Build redux. xD
Also, follow what sartorius is saying, especially the Silver MvPs. They're the newbie but helpful version of MvP cards.

Find out what exactly is causing your deaths. Which classes and which skills they are using. For farming it is safe to assume the majority is high wizard or snipers. In this case get a water property armour ( or armour + swordfish card to obtain water property ) to gain a 75% damage reduction to storm gust spell along with any other water 1 property attacks. Maybe a marc ( easiest to obtain ) or detardeurus card to gain immunity to freeze. You will also want a thara frog card for shield and ranged damage reduction as well as a noxious card for garment slot for ranged damage reduction. Also use any Demi human damage reducing items and cards you can find. Gear up your character before trying to farm with other players. Also, your vitality is 1. If you are dying much too often, it is a sign that you do not have enough hp. So just add some vitality. It will increase your hp amount.

Here is the card database, spend some time familiarizing yourself with the cards and try to find the best ones to reduce damage done to you.

Also, if you wish to be the best, do not expect to rely on a single set of equipment. There are hundreds of item and card combinations and with a bit of intuitive imagination, you can create the perfect gear set up for very specific situations.

You should have a large handful of weapons and armours all carded for A different encounter, both in MVP, and absolutely for PvP. Also try to use the same kind of armours or weapons, which will allow you to use a single hotkey ( yes you can hotkey equips ) for fast shuffling and Allowing you to save hotkey slots so it isn't quiet a mess.

Anyways take your time, fRO is a huge world with lots to discover. Best if luck to you, and please enjoy your stay :)
