Bombay Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 (edited) Hello Everyone Today I have a suggestion that I would like to see implemented. The suggestion would be Raws and Sacred wings being able to have blessed and cursed ring effects. Why? you may ask, the rings do have an excellent boost when it comes to status points and abilities but when it comes to fashion its not the greatest. A large number of players like to use the Raws (Royal angel wings) or Sacred wings when lounging around town when its not event time, but as soon as its time for woe, GvG, Br, or Pvp the wings come off and the rings go on. The way to go about doing this would be to implement a new donation version of a pre-wing with the cape effects and being able to use this as an option or alternative to complete the ring quest. You would select the class of which you want the pre-wing for champ, sinx, sniper ect. then select the color you would like (much like choosing an LHZ) these pre-wings will be Solid White RAWS or Sacreds until the ring quest is completed the finished product will depend on which side you choose. For the Blessed side the Raw's will become solid white tops with light golden edges, the tips will be the respective color (this is opposite of how RAWS look now for a visual difference in PvP matters). For Sacred's they would just become slightly larger and its solid color with the white lower portion. For the cursed side of the quest the Raw's will be solid black tops with golden edges, and the respective color on the tips (example champ cursed red Raws would be black top, red tips) . for the cursed sacred's they would get their respective color and the lower portion would be a solid black. Now why go through all this trouble just to have Ring effects with the Raw or Sacred's spirtes? A few reasons that I can think of off hand. Firstly they look better, a more colorful variety of ring status gifted wings look better than the rings themselves. As a new player one of the things you notice are wings not rings. A new player will stop and stare in awe at your majestic colored wings while merely looking over the rings not knowing what they are. Some will ask," Sir or Ma'am what are those wings how can I obtain them?" once explaining to them you have just hooked another player into playing for a goal. Thirdly More rings quest materials will be needed to complete these new wing rings. This in turn means more donations for these pre-wings and more farmers needed! Helping the new players find a source of income rather than farming zeny in the abyss like a zombie giving them ring quest items to hunt means more income for them aiding the lower people showing them its not a pay to play type server (most new people that's one of the basic starting questions) giving these newer/ not as rich players an insight showing them that they can succeed by farming and actually stand a chance in the long run. Lastly, its something different I have heard tales of the Raws dominating the server during the pre-ring era and everyone looking different with their colorful fashion it would liven the place up more than just all these "chains" hanging I would enjoy seeing a wing filled server. It is something I personally enjoy and I am sure I'm not one of the only ones with this point of view. The Work, yes the GMs would have nothing short of a chore to implement a reversed color schemed along with shades for RAWS and would be no small task, however is there any coders or scripters or w/e that have any sort of idea of how this would work? could you please comment below what would be required IF you know what you are doing Above I have stated my suggestion and way about going to implement it if you have any suggestions, something to add, critics, or a simple revise I would love to hear them im always open to a different view. please maybe post a picture of your character with your favorite colored wings im sure people would love to see them Comment below.. chiriko Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 i thought i read a book xD, on topic > +1 to this :D
ChainBreak Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 This idea isn't bad, but afaik this server has no spriter. Which means either the we, the community, have to make them (or pay someone to do so) or we have to find free sprites that would fit. Since recolors can be done though I would suggest making a npc available that changes the rings to items with modified RAW sprites. Those could be white or light colors for the blessed ring and black or dark colors for the cursed ring.
Bombay Posted August 31, 2014 Author Report Posted August 31, 2014 If finding a spriter could be made possible what is your honest opinon of it being implemented.
Bishop Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I disagree with using the same sprites for 2 entirely different effects. Knowing the items your enemy is wearing is a major part of PvP. Forcing people to be unable to see what the enemy is wearing will take a lot of skill out of pvp and since we are an pvp oriented server I'll have to disagree with adding this. However adding more looks for the capes/rings is something I can agree with.
jaypeebogchi Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Make a donation Blessed and cursed ring lol. anyway +1 to this.

I think making light themed and dark themed raws would be the best solution.
sartorius19 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 but it will still be bound to those 2 colors only. and i suppose having variety of the colors are one of the reasons for this.
