I like it, but I found a mistake. Your sprite's valkyrie helmets are misplaced - they're about a few pixels to the left than they were suppose to be. So right now, it's looking like as if the Valkyrie helmet is falling off. I like how you made the sprites balance out, very nice. It makes it blend in with the background more - so it's powerful. The only thing that I would have to say about the sprites are that try not to change the face / skin color of it. It kind of throws it off balance in my opinion. And because it'll give it a little more color. But my guess is that you just took the sprite and just colored it. Because if you remove the color, it'll look like the original sprites. So you didn't color the head properly.

The text behind the sprites are very nice choices. But for the ' Signal ' text, all it looks like to me is S I G N A I because you can't really see an L, it just looks like a line, so therefore looking like an I. I suggest that you change the WHEELS text by making it flip horizontally. So the text would look like <- +++ ->, I think it would look better like that.

I like that thing in the middle a lot - it connects the two backgrounds together. It makes it look so creative. The last thing that I would have to say is that next time when you're saving your files, always save it in a .PNG form, it's always the best quality.. Because I can tell that you saved it in a .JPG file and took the color of the forum's background and colored it in the back.

I don't give rates, I prefer comments than rates.

For the colors, I intended it to be that way, I wanted it more dull then it was before.

I personally don't agree with the whole text placement as <- +++ ->... It's not as interesting in my opinion and takes away from the composition in general.

The focus isn't intended to be the name itself but the overall sig.

Obviously I used forum color for the sig since it was a .jpg file... I have my own reasons for not using .png

Thanks for your input though.

I'm not going to nitpick at your signature although you asked for criticism. That's because there are a lot of things that GFX artists already know is slightly off about their pieces of work. I honestly don't really feel that you need me to tell you every single detail that can be adjusted to make the composition slightly more appealing. For most part, I'm sure you're smart enough to find out yourself.

Overall, I enjoy your layout of the signature. However, I will make slight comments that may not be so obvious. When I first looked at it, I thought the sprites were a little too desaturated. Seeing as how they are in the foreground, you want them to pop up a little more than the background. You want to establish planes because of the way you positioned the sprites.

The pure black design you used in the middle throws off the color scheme of the signature. I understand you did not want to pick a color too close to the colors already used in your signature because that would cause confusion in differentiating the background from the foreground. However, I think you can pull off using a better choice than pure black. Black is a very strong color that stands out particularly in signatures such as this one. Our eyes divert almost immediately to the black in the background. (Similarly, the same goes for the border as well.)

In the end, I congratulate your efforts. I believe that good ideas are important. Art is a talent, but also a practice. Nothing comes without struggle. Good artwork can be produced with much practice, but ideas are a result of experience and observation.

Loving the way the boxes are placed. Personally I love how it's desaturated but I think that the parts of the boxes closer to the middle could use a slight brushing of white or some sort of bright color to make the light source stand out more. But that's just me, it's awesome though : p

Note: Just next time save it as a png? Transparent backgrounds are better in sprite siggies : o

I use tinypic as a upload; PNG's get converted to JPG's... I honestly don't care enough to upload it anywhere else.
