I got this problem where I run an app in admin or tab to something in full screen, my fRO screen freezes or it grabs a part of the tab full screen window and inserts it into my fRO window hence screen froze. The admin thing I know how to solve already. Just run all the admin apps before running fRO. My concern is when I tab to a full screen app. Heres a scenario where I usually experience it: Last night while I was waiting for WOE to start which was 4hrs away. I had to do something to past the time rather than just siiting in my spot get bored and fall asleep which would usually make me miss woe(again). So I played DOTA to past the time. DOTA, which is always ran on sull screen, always messes up my fRO by freezing the graphics of it. Imagine the start up interface of warcraft then grab a part of it which is the same size of your fRO window, that is what usually occurs. So I have to reopen fRO again. Of course I still have a long time to wait. So I tab back to warcraft then when I go back to fRO it occurs again and so on. It also occured back when I was playing a different private server. Same screnario. I checked the thread but I dont see anything relevant to my issue. Any idea what causes this and if anyone has a solution to it? I wanna play something to past the time while waiting but I dont wanna lose sight of my fRO. Cheers!
Sensation Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 Playing windowed already helps, but I assume this isn't what you want. (You're able to modify it to be almost borderless if you mess around in registry though). I've heard that some people are able to get around this issue better than I'm currently aware of, so lets hope they reply.
jameslamela Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 iam playing fro at window mode and in full size screen resolution setup on my pc at home... it works fine and i have no problem with my tabbing. if i play it on fullscreen, i cant use dual client nor play another game aside from fro. on some other pc like in an internet cafe, i cant use dual client even iam playing fro at window mode.
Dus Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Try to reset your Setting by Running the Rag Setup and also try to lower your UAC Level to 2 that normally helps and it also fixes the screen freezing when RO is already running and you opened something that needs admin authentication. The admin authentication will still popup but it will not dim nor freeze your screen

Sensation Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 It a setting in your control panel -> user account. It means user account control (UAC). This is the (annoying) window that pops up every time something happens, EVERY TIME. But its safer to have it enabled, unless you are 100% sure what you're doing and don't mind taking responsibility if things go wrong you can disable it, or as Dustin mentioned lower it to level 2.
Dus Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Yeah I dont suggest disabling it just put it on level 2 so it doesn't dim your screen every time it pops up. I havent confirmed it yet but I think it has something to do with the Aero Theme of the desktop (Glass effect) thats making your screen go black, because when mine is turned off I dont really have this type of problems even if my screen dims on an authentication popup
qperteplex Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Im gonna have to post a screenshot when I get home as I am currently at work though I now have a bigger issue wherein my pc overheats 3x the average, like 100c LOL. It turns off in around 5-10mins. But I can fix it once I get home. Any hoot, I use windows 7 32bit and I dont use the aero theme. I just use the classic. Can you give me more detailed instruction about that UAC level 2 thing? I may look into that. So I can run apps as much as I want by admin without worrying freezing my fRO. Also, I ALWAYS play fRO in a window not in full screen. I run up to 3 clients. My priority in this issue is that I wanna play another game which needs to be in full screen without that other game freezing my fRO when I tab back and forth. I play fRO in window and play warcraft in full screen. As I tab to warcraft from fRO, warcraft runs normally but when I go back to fRO, screen freezes. Even though I would still here the sound effects from fRO. I would end up closing my fRO windows then reopen them. Would happen over and over again if I tab back to warcraft then back to fRO Edit: I hope this would be much clear than my earlier post. Again, any insight on this? Edited March 12, 2014 by qperteplex
Dus Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 If your using a desktop Its either One of your fan is dead or the thermal paste in between the processor needs to be replaced. Most common things I could think of why it's overheating or you overclocked it. So it's not really frozen the screen is just glitching. Add me on skype as Im bad at explaining in writing
qperteplex Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 Yep, that was actually what I was about to do with my PC. Had my sis buy me some thermal paste and an air blower to clear up the dust in the fans and all the other parts as well. Already checked it with speed fan app and it shows my CPU and CORE are at 100c so I think it is indeed the thermal paste again. I can handle the one above but the one Im having trouble with is that tab thing.

It would grab a portion of folders, images or apps that goes in the window and imbed itself in it as you can see it copied the tabbing window. I just also found out that the printscreen button where it should send an SS to the screenshot folder in fRO, would not show the image there when this occurs. So I just used printscreen then paste in paint. Any thoughts?
Dus Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 This doesnt happen on my other Performance Computer but happens on where I normally play I guess it has something to do with D3D not caching correctly well let you know if I found a workaround but I did try and play RO on fullscreen and played LoL it doesnt glitch the screen when I tab so I dont know maybe you should try it?

Like playing fRO in windows then playing a full screen game then tab back and forth? I already fixed the issue I am having with my core overheating. I got it down to 53c on full apps but I got a bigger issue now my PC just went BSOD earlier LOL! Already tried a checkdisk so ill just have to monitor it. Any ideas on this coz I havent fully troubleshooted this and I want to be delicate on my PC since its hard for me to afford a new one. qperteplex Posted March 14, 2014 Author Report Posted March 14, 2014 32 bit. I got a message after chkdsk telling me its either an issue with the usb devices, the ram or hdd itself. I got this error code 0xc00000e9 also. I already looked into it and I fear it may be indeed a hardware issue D: What do you mean increase my page file? I also formatted my PC last week of Jan.

After the chkdsk my PC seems to be running normally. Not freezing or glitching anymore but I need to be sure Also, still any idea about the tab thing?
Dus Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Windows Vista will work on Windows 7 as well. Also what version of Windows 7 are you running 32bit or 64bit ? Also how much ram do you have cos it might be that your computer cant handle the programs specially if you have a lot going on in your machine. This is the most common thing I could think of cos remember the more computing your cpu does the more it gets hot
Sensation Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 He has 32-bit, therefore he can't have more than 4Gb of RAM. The tweak also works for windows 7 Trans, just find the page file option in your configuration it is there and follow the rest of the guide for its settings.

Play fRO on full screen then warcraft or run an app on admin = fRO doesnt freeze but I despise playing in full screen Tried opening the app first then fRO but in window = does not work still freezes my screen So running fRO on full screen lets me switch to each window but sucks as I prefer it in window. Any ideas or suggestions?
