Dus Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) Hello and Welcome to this awkward thread. Before anything else if I am breaking any rule then please feel free to take this down I am doing this guide because I don't wanna keep repeating myself to people. How to resize your Windowed Client If your tired of your 1280x768 Screen Resolution then follow this guide on how to resize your window mode so it sits perfectly on your screen 1. Go and Open Start Menu 2. Type in regedit in the Search box 3. The regedit program should come up right click on that 4. Run it as administrator 5. An Authorization Box will pop up Click Yes (This box doesn't appear when you turn down your UAC Setting) 6. A Window with Split View will appear. On the Left Panel locate your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder and expand it 7. Locate your SOFTWARE Folder and expand it as well *Note (32-bit)HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gravity Soft\Ragnarok(64-bit)HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Gravity Soft\Ragnarok 8. Locate your Ragnarok Folder and click on it and it should show your Ragnarok Configuration Data in Raw Form 9. Look for the HEIGHT and WIDTH Registry and double click on it or right click and modify whatever method you prefer 10. A box will pop up the base has hexadecimal as default, change that to decimal to make it easier for you 11. Input your desired Width or Height 12. Click Ok and do this again on the other one Width or Height whichever you haven't done *NOTE Do not touch anything else in here if your not sure of what your doing or if your not familiar with codes This is for Windows 7 & XP Edited March 12, 2014 by Dus Quote
jameslamela Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 great! XD i can use this for some time... :3 Quote
Dus Posted March 11, 2014 Author Report Posted March 11, 2014 It works well if you have multi screens or wide screen like mine is 1600x900, It also gives me a better view range but that's just me Quote
markadik21 Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 nc job... :) it will help other.. Quote
Rayray Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 some people have to be careful on touching stuff in regedit though. You guys know how sensitive Windows is(which is why I so hate it, honestly if I can play natively on linux, i would throw away all microsoft stuff i have) 1 Quote
Dus Posted March 11, 2014 Author Report Posted March 11, 2014 Which why I made a note and put pictures cos you know how people can be so curious and unless u know what your doing then you can really mess things up. Quote
Rayray Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 ^ Check the pics, it doesn't seem to work for me. It is saying the common photobucket error where the image is gone or moved. I have never seen microsoft screw things up besides allowing easy access to regedit and that annoying thing they did on using backslash instead of forward slash like every *nix system. That shit plagued me for years as a programmer. Quote
Sensation Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) And yes, the pictures seem to be moved or removed. Kindly fix this Dustin. (oh and thanks for writing this) NOTE: Make sure both the Width & Height are divisible by 4 to not have distorted/gray screenshots. Oh and another key is available at 64 bit: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-4233966095-1271758875-1291824850-1002\Software\Gravity Soft\Ragnarok The S-1-5-21-4233966095-1271758875-1291824850-1002 might be different for other people, but searching through the registry for Ragnarok would end up in this key too. Maybe a bit more for advanced usage? When I did some browsing on "Ragnarok" I found another key at: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-4233966095-1271758875-1291824850-1002\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Gravity Soft\Ragnarok These settings were all null, so this might explain the compact window upon playing 'normal'. Perhaps some registry keys should be made for easy alternation of those values for them, or fixing the setup to apply to all those keys... ^ Check the pics, it doesn't seem to work for me. It is saying the common photobucket error where the image is gone or moved. I have never seen microsoft screw things up besides allowing easy access to regedit and that annoying thing they did on using backslash instead of forward slash like every *nix system. That shit plagued me for years as a programmer. Wasn't there like a filepath separation variable available so it'll adjust to the Operating System ;p? After some googling I found this as an example. Also forward slash has been working in windows for quite a while (from the time in DOS), however, command prompt used to not like it as much, but it works for me now. Windows API had this baked in as far as I was aware. Such deviation from the topic.. Edited March 11, 2014 by Sensation Quote
Dus Posted March 11, 2014 Author Report Posted March 11, 2014 Will fix as soon as I get back home Quote
Bishop Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Lets just set one thing straight. This by all means is an extreme last resort measure. This method is all about manually changing system files which is definitely not a recommended way of fixing your resolution. This is also the reason why I did not include such a guide in the troubleshooting area. (More safe)Fixes for the game client resolution problem have been available for a long time already. If you choose this method we are not responsible for any game or system failures caused by it. There's 100% easy working solutions for this problem that do not require manual system file editing. Sensation Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 Might add that when people make changes, they first make a back-up of their keys before applying them. But then again, explaining how to do this.. This works (really well), but might be a bit overcomplicated for the less knowledgable computer users. (this doesn't sound mean does it?) Quote
Bishop Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 I don't think it sounds mean, no. And getting backups of the keys is another step that should be taken when changing your resolution in this way. I just want people to know that this method is at their own risk. It was not added to the troubleshooting guide for a reason. Keep that in mind. Quote

Yeah i was talking about command prompt since I was usually using text editors like sublime text or vim and the terminal on linux when programming. And there are times when i have to program ruby and/or ruby on rails on a windows machine which really gives me headaches since i was so used with linux. Add the fact that some rubygems really do not work on windows. Hell, when I am using windows for some reason(like when my client hates me), I miss a lot of things i could do on my linux terminal(and the fun stuff you can add on it). Lastly, the worst thing I heard from a client before : "Please make this website work PERFECTLY on Internet Explorer". I swear I was on the verge of just making a page with a big ass warning sign "If you are using IE, click this" and it will redirect to Firefox download page. >.< That's enough ranting about windows for me i guess. You're not downright talking down on somebody. I get all the editing, but there's no way I will do this. Even tho I know my way around reprogramming stuff I still have that thought that I'd still mess it up. Haha...I sure don't want to have that "Oh Shit..." moment. XD Cheers, Laura  Quote
Dus Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 Im almost home. I can probably make a one-click script that does all this step. Ill code when I get home Quote
Rayray Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Im almost home. I can probably make a one-click script that does all this step. Ill code when I get home Create one huge warning for people that intend to use that, they might use the one that is not for their pc. I suggest you don't do it man. Quote
