Ellyidol Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Hi all. I recently moved to a new apartment (and city) in the Philippines. I'm not from here, but I was assigned here for work. Previously, I used to be under the PLDT ISP and I had no problems whatsoever with lag or delays in fRO (I think I had a latency of around 200ms, could be lesser). However, in my new place I'm using Bayantel as an ISP and should roughly have 300 ms latency (according to the Resource Monitor, fRO.exe). But I'm getting lag spikes and delays of (out of experience) roughly 1k+ ms. Download speed is fine, consistent 500kbps on numerous sources. So I'm thinking that this ISP has a bad route to the server? Is there a way I can accurately check my ping to fRO? And if there's anything I can do to improve my current connection? Thank you for any help. 1
Bishop Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Start -> run -> type in cmd. This will open a black promt box. In that box type ping forsakenserver.net -t and it'll ping until you close it :). As for the things you can do to reduce ping. Most of them are related to your location and ISP. However there are ways you could slightly reduce your ping if your original ping is in the higher numbers (250+). There are programs such as Wtfast whom reroute your connection to a certain IP or game server in this case. This can oftenly reduce your ping and delay to a certain extend.

I was right, roughly 300 ping. The spikes I get feel way more than 300ms though (based on experience), this is most probably an ISP issue already. Oh well :(
shaq67 Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 I'm also having lag spikes as well through out random parts of the day, when I warp as I farm my character resets to default clothing color for 1-3 seconds and wont be able to move then when I can move its very choppy. I tested my ping its 74 and my internet is fantastic *Comcast United states* anyone else getting problems like this?
