gamersrule26 Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 I recently downloaded fRO on a desktop since I f*cked up my laptop. It was fine for about a week but now, when I open the client, the program closes itself automatically before I can even log on. I can usually solve this by rebooting my pc but this gets REALLY annoying. help plz.
Bishop Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Make sure the graphics driver you have selected at the setup.exe is not failing. You could try changing it around and see if the problem persists. Also make sure your graphic drivers are up to date.
gamersrule26 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Report Posted January 4, 2012 Whats the graphic driver in the setup? The Direct 3D HAL? Sorry, I'm a newb with technical stuff :L
Sensation Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 It sounds awkward, but most likely anything ATI or NVidia/Geforce related would be a good option. If not, OpenGL drivers as they are open source and still maintained and works for RO for sure (used for other operating systems most of the time). Furthermore look at your resolution, it shouldn't surpass the desktop resolution else it could cause problems.\ Hope this helps, if not, please come back with feedback. ^^
Xtopher Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Is there an error message? What operating system are you using? I've had a problem like this before that was caused by my OS.

Ryuk Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 What Bishop/Sensation said should fix your problem. If not, I'll look into it.
gamersrule26 Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 Still keeps happening.. :L Changing the drivers around didn't do anything
Ryuk Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Alright please make sure that : 1 : Your graphic card drivers are fully updated. 2 : Your setup.exe has your graphics card (most likely nvidia or Ati) selected. 3 : Make sure the set resolution at Setup.exe matches your current screen resolution. 4 : Try running the client in administrator more if you aren't already. If you are running it in adminstrator mode and it closes automatically, try running it in none administrator mode as well. If all of the above does not work I would need to know which operating system you are using and perhaps some additional information as well. But try the above options first. Regards, Ryuk 1
BlackWolf Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Whats the graphic driver in the setup? The Direct 3D HAL? Sorry, I'm a newb with technical stuff :L Well I had that problem as well in the Setup.exe the Direct Hal had 2 Options 1- Direct3d Hal 2- Direct3d T&L Hal I changed from 1 to the other and put the screen to 800 x 600 x 16 and it solved my problem. Maybe this can help you??
gamersrule26 Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 Okay, just a one thing.. - How do I know if my graphic card drivers are fully updated? Also my resolution on fRO doesn't surpass my monitor.
Decode Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 How to know if your drivers are fully updated: 1. Right click on My computer/ Computer. 2. Click properties. I divided it for Windows XP and Windows 7... Note: If it is Vista that you are running it should be similar to WIndows 7. For Windows 7: 3. On the left hand panel look for the "Device Manager" option, should be the second one from top to bottom. It should open a new window. Now go to step 5. For Windows XP 3. Look for the "Hardware Tab" 4. In the hardware tab look for "Device Manager". Now go to step 5. 5. In that window you should be looking firstly for uninstalled drivers those should appear with a "?" mark, and second if there are no uninstalled drivers look for the "Display adapter". 6. Right click on your display adapter and choose the "Update driver software", in a window that will pop-up you pick the "Search automatically for update driver software" and let it finish. Let us know if that solved your problem.
gamersrule26 Posted January 15, 2012 Author Report Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) Sorry, I don't go on forums too much :L But atm, the driver is updating and I'm just waiting for it to finish :3 Edit: Nope, still closes itself. Edited January 15, 2012 by gamersrule26
Bishop Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 After you updated your graphic driver. Open your setup.exe and see if you can change the top bar to your graphics card instead of Direct3D etc. If not, then you might not have the right DirectX installed on your laptop.
gamersrule26 Posted January 16, 2012 Author Report Posted January 16, 2012 My graphic driver is NVIDIA GeForce o.o How do I know if I have the right DirectX on my computer?
Bishop Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Open your setup.exe. At the top bar can you select your Geforce card ? If yes you have directX installed. If not then you dont have a compatible directX installed.
Bishop Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 If you select that one and enable full screen mode. Does your client still close itself ?
Mint Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) Stopped playing for a while to study for my exams, just attempted to open Fro today and the same thing is happening to me. It worked fine before I stopped playing~ fully patched & all. "Unable to load table class_tab.txt" <- What's that? xD Edited January 19, 2012 by Mint
Spill Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Maybe its with you computer settings. Are you running windows 7?
gamersrule26 Posted January 23, 2012 Author Report Posted January 23, 2012 I run windows vista :3 @Kanein - I tried running it on those settings, still closes itself + @GM It still closes itself when I run full screen
Decode Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Are you still experiencing this issue, I cannot thing of any other sort of solution, other than a wrong driver or your Ro resolution is higher than your computer's resolution.
Mint Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Well, i tried mine again yesterday & it was perfectly fine >.< no idea what's going on.. didn't change anything
