Angels&Demons Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 I just recently bought a new laptop, and I reinstalled fRO, but the weird part is that when I play using the patcher, the fRO window is so small. I tried using setup.exe to adjust as to how big I want the window to be, but it doesn't change it. Setup.exe only adjusts the window when I use the other game launcher and not the patcher. Any available solution to this problem?

Mine's ATI Radeon HD 5470 for Sony Vaio VPCEA35FG. I tried DL-ing some others but it kept asking me to buy it instead. >.< And Rei coz the .exe can't take SS. >.< Lol! =))
L2Aim Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/graphics/ati-mobility-hd-5400/Pages/hd-5470-specs.aspx Links to the specs, but in the (somewhat upper) right you'll see "find a driver", insert your criteria (I don't know your windows bit version for example). It should result in the correct driver and just download, install & reboot. If that doesn't solve it, you at least are updated to the latest graphic driver. Direct X acted up a few times for me too, try getting the latest version of that. The patcher itself runs internet explorer inside of it (or the browser provided by your system operation system), try getting the last version of that too. If all of that isn't working, I'd like to see a screenshot of the actual problem. Good luck.

Ryuk Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 I'm afraid updating your graphic driver would do nothing to fix this issue. If it was related to your Direct X or graphic card the entire game wouldn't run or keep a black screen. Setup.exe applies to your normal client only. I'm not sure about windows7(which you might have). But with vista while running the client through the patcher it automatically runs the patcher in administrator mode. Which causes this issue. When starting the client manually it's started without administrator mode. While running it in administrator mode the setup.exe changes will not apply to the client.

Angels&Demons Posted March 5, 2011 Author Report Posted March 5, 2011 I tried installing drivers, uhm.. looking through google to find solutions, nothing's working at the moment. Although some solutions fixed the black "margins" when playing full screen games. But still nothing works for the fRO patcher window size. Anyone have anymore ideas? :o This is kinda crappy, I can't take screen shots. >.< Oh nevermind. If anyone has had similar problems, the solution would be to run as admin the setup.exe. Then it should change the window size. Haha. Thanks for the idea for experimentation Ryuk. Haha. :)
