Dryad Faction, Earthen Allegiance, Elven Descent

Story Outline For Dryads

The Dryads are the tree nymphs of Umbala who have strong ties with the Goddess Artemis. They have begun to open relations with Man Kind since they heard about a man who helped the King of Insects and the King of Earth to help prevent the death of the favorite son of Odin, Baldur. Since they heard of this news they have opened their knowledge into Earthen Healing powers to the humans.

( Isn't a continuation of the frigg quest, just since it has been installed could be used as a branch off )

Details

Once you have completed a quest to prove you are worth learning the methods of the Drayds you will gain one Rainbow Leaf ( Basically a token for the Dryads you can use to trade with them ) Once you have attained your first Rainbow Leaf you will be granted access to talk to the leader of the Dryads "Sendeo" Who is master of all healing methods and has learned many techniques from Artemis. Sendeo will depending on how many Rainbow Leafs you give her she will write down a script on a card only by carrying this card around with you will you gain the benefits.

Each Faction will hold up to 15 Quest Npcs in which you can do favours for them to earn a Credit with there faction. Once a person has done the quest they can not do it again on that character. Credits with factions will be unstorable and untradeable to prevent people from using the same quest over and over. These quest to get the prizes will require patience, thought, and hunting npcs. Cards / items obtained by these npcs will be tradeable.

Cards

1. Healing Scriptures: Increase Healing Spell by 200%. ( Requires 15 Rainbow Leafs, Carded into shoes. )

2. Artemis's Blessing Scripture: Increase Sanctuary Ability by 100% ( Requires 12 Rainbow Leafs, Carded into weapon. )

3. Sanctum Scripture: Increase Sanctuary Ability by 30% ( Requires 8 Rainbow Leafs, Carded into Head. )

4. Minor Healing Scripture: Increase Healing Spell by 50% ( Requires 4 Rainbow Leafs, Carded into Accesory. )

5. Dryad Scripture: Increase Sanctuary and Healing Ability by 10% ( Requires 4 Rainbow Leafs, Carded into Muffler )

7. Artemis's Strike Scripture: Increase Damage with Magic AoE skills by 30% ( Requires 8 Rainbow Leafs, Carded into Muffler )

Gathering all of these would make you them most useful thing in woe if you are a priest lol But the quest will be hard ( If accepted i'll help with ideas on the quest but since im suggesting 15 npcs I think I wont make those npcs just yet. ( Cant wait for what Xtopher has to say on this mostly thought of this shit because of him ) ( Scriptures are cards btw if you couldn't catch on. lol )

Onto part two. If needed take a restroom break and also make sure you are reading in a well light room.....lol

Story Outline for Earthen Allegiance

The people of the Earthen Allegiance have always been brute creatures consisting of Orcs, Golems, and what has been told to be many famous monsters have joined the Allegiance. In search of greater power you have gone underground to find a representative for the Earthen Allegiance. There you find "Qwase" A monster disguised as a human wrapped in many towels. From him you can learn to increase your power immensely but doping always has its side effects you are told. By proving your worth to Qwase and fighting off many creatures and bringing back to him medals of honor dropped by these creatures you will gain his respect.

Details

Once you join the Earthen Allegiance you will not be allowed to join any other faction on that character. The famous monsters that have been mentioned are MVPs who's hatred have caused them to even lower there dignity and join sides with a faction. The credits given by the Earthen Allegiance are Golden Crumbs which can only be extracted by creature miners. Once you have joined the Earthen Allegiance you learn from Qwase that The Dark Lord is disguised as a human inside a town and that he can teach you how to gain strength. He grants new items and new cards.

Items / Cards

1. Warriors Muffler: 1 Slot, Max Sp +15% Increase All Damage by 20% Max Hp + 6% ( Requires 15 Golden Crumbs, Muffler. Op in a sense but the draw backs of one slot and no fset combo is huge :P. )

2. Rising Gauntlet Card: Increase Damage from Grimtooth by 50% ( Requires 12 Golden Crumbs, Carded into Muffler )

3. LOD's Spiral Card: Increase Spiral Pierce Damage by 40% ( Requires 12 Golden Crumbs, Carded into muffler )

6. Iron Smelting Card: Increase Bullet Damage by 40%. (Requires 12 Golden Crumbs, Carded into Weapon. Effects Skills. )

All of the Earthen stuff will require time to get anything because there so good and the quest for the Earthen Allegiance will be the hardest of all of them to get one Credit.

Story Outline For Elfs

The elfs have always been known for there abilities with bows and there great agility. Knowing this you go onto a search for a descendant of Legolas to learn how to increase your range abilities.

Details

Once you find Realanado descendant of Legolas he will send you on a quest to prove your worthy of being taught the ways of elven kind. Once you prove your worth he will direct you to his brother Mealdo who will begin teaching you how to shoot lethaly and to increase your agility. The credits used by the Elven kind are Water Stones.

Cards/Itmes

1. Agilitas Forminus Card (Edit Change to Belt): Increase Damage with Double Stafing by 25%, Dex + 20, Agility + 20 ( Requires 15 Water Stones, Carded into Accesory )

2. Dexterium Folcum Card: Increase Focus Arrow Strike Damage by 20% Agility + 15 ( Requires 14 Water Stones, Carded into Muffler)

3. Lethal Shooting Card: Increase Ranged Attack Damage by 20% Auto attack damage only ( Requires 12 Water Stones, Carded into Head )

4. Legolas's True Shooting Arrows: Attack 120, Increase Dex and Agility + 5. ( Requires 15 Water Stones, Arrow )

5. Minstrels Wonder Card: Increase Arrow Vulcan Damage by 8% ( Requires 15 Water Stones, Carded into Muffler )

Alright. The bonuses of doing these quest will be op for the people who do, do them obviously. For people who sell them they will be expensive obviously. But for everything there is a lot of time intended to be put into them and for the melee users like champions and sinx who want the power bonus ( have to give one for all other wise people bitch ) there will be drawbacks as can be seen.

Would probably only require 4 - 6 days to script all of this xD

Edit Section

1. Legolas's True Shooting: Give Wind Element.

2. Agilitas Forminus Card: Change To an Actual Belt and only one can be equiped.

Agreed that this would be very easy to implement. However, I only would agree with a two faction system - simply because if you want to expand on it and make faction wars, 3 is uneven - and you cannot do a storyline starting with an uneven amount of factions. My suggestion:

Expand on it: During quests, with a faction system you can actually have monsters fighting monsters. Have NPC generals of those monsters and help kill on the battlefield - it's a whole new alternate to pvp.

Awhile back, I wrote a faction system for a server (un-named). Here's how it went:

Started with 2 faction armies, Ghosts vs. Titans. Loong storyline I won't explain - but all the third class lhz monsters like creators, etc were added into the game and there were quests on battlefields to complete special 'operations' based on your faction. The monsters would fight each other evenly and provided a hard task for the user to actually kill on both sides of the faction

Killing monsters of the opposite faction gave rep+ points, killing your own gave you rep- and you could use those points to collect prizes.

Then in an update two sub-factions were introduced; where 1 joined opposite factions to make it even.

Making it just so a faction is 'questable' is no fun.. gotta spice things up. Personally - pvp can get pretty boring. Also introduces a very easy method of doing new events.

Posted

Hmmm just inteded it to be questable at first to keep it simple, but it would be better imo to introduce a quest straightoff first then add in what your going with and expand off it where you can get real rep points.

I like the three faction setup though since it basically covers every aspect possible for characters based off of the server and how the classes go so on and so forth.

The idea is huge, yet good. It could make fRO more interesting to join too if we would make more similar quests, which is exactly what we want.

Plus this is one of the few suggestions that's almost detailed enough to start the scripting process right away.

This is a good idea, to keep old players busy. Although are all these cards going to able to use by all the jobs? Or it's only for specific jobs? Like healing scriptures for Priests only?

Well it leans towards certain characters. Sanctuary obviously would only be used by priest and would be mostly used in woe. But the Healing spell one could be used by Champions, or people with heal clips etc etc.

1. Agilitas Forminus Card: Increase Damage with Double Stafing by 25%, Dex + 20, Agility + 20 ( Requires 15 Water Stones, Carded into Accesory )

-> Isn't 25% a bit too much? IDK, coz IMO this would render dex belts useless. I think? I would gladly sacrifice 1 dex belt (coz 2 of this card would make 1 dex belt) for 50% more damage. :s

4. Legolas's True Shooting Arrows: Attack 120, Increase Dex and Agility + 5. ( Requires 15 Water Stones, Arrow )

-> Is the arrow going to have a property or is it just normal? I hope it does have a property, coz almost everyone defaults GR + tao, others 2 OLs. :s

BTW, I'm not criticizing your work, just curious about stuffs. :s

Hmmm I open comments on all of it, need a team to see the flaws in everything so. Going to put an edit section on there.

Haha! I finally read this 9s but I'm my mobile so I can't quote and edit lol. But hahaah nice lolll active imagination has successfully upgraded itself to smoke pot and fly (j/k j/k one of my friends and I wrote a book LOL)

But yeah onto topic ouch that spiral 1 would be oppp jaja kobold arch for my already hrd hitting lk? Nurf tht part. But yeah this all sounds really good.

@zac, zac and I were on this un-named server with spirits and ro and itus in its name and there were these rediculous elite quests out (which sorta helped me find f.ro) and on this server

There was also a race system. Now I loved that idea, because what it ensured was that no two characters could ever be the same with both gear layout and race advantages and disadvantages accordingly.

Although I suggested this race thing aeons ago. I'd like to re-surface it

Just like there was an elite quest, there should be a race npc for players as they make a new character

E.g humans, elves, dryads, undead humans, hobbits LOL jk (gnomes instead) etc etc

And basically depending on the race you choose it will determin the quests you can do and give u certain bonuses

E.g expaning on 9s' idea if you choose druid class e.g your effective heal and support is increased by 5%, and allows you to participate in the race specific quest mentioned above, in addition your character sprite appears a certain way so others know you are a druid (skin tone etc etc)

(E.g gnome classes or w/e like if they took a down size candy etc )

E.g sorry they had like elf and night elf and night elf got bonus stats (e.g +5~10 to all stats during the day and regular elf +5~10 during the day)

The unnamed server I mentioned was both douche and it closed down, but this system was winn!

Sorry for the post, I'll edit this later on my laptop..mobiles ftl

Good work again 9s

EDIT:

RACES:

right! sorry, so expanding on my suggestion with the races:

with Undead you have 5% or 10% more damage to all races (basically the opposite to dryad's which have heal and support buffs) HOWEVER!, they are undead poperty and as such heal and other holy property does bonus damage (e.g if u wear an Evil druid armor, etc etc)

(they cannot be healed period and get damage equivalent to the heal) and holy does bonus damage on them, e.g endowing holy etc etc

so you can tell this would make priests 100% more useful as they would now own any undead class and become and even MORE effective pvp=er..both support AND taking out the most raw 'powerful' race)

Elves would be the opposite to Night Elves and would get bonus damage during the day, they both would get % inc in magical damage (the dryads etc have % bonus with respect to heal and support etc) as well as a bonus e.g in flee or something

so you can tell it would be best for any int classes such as profs and wizards to be of these races (and depending from which zone you are in the world, or which woe etc you'll have different classes)

humans would recieve bonus support from healing buffs etc (opposite to undead) e.g so it would be best if for instance a paladin were human class right? (OR! they can be dryad and go GC build and own undead players), humans would also receive the balance e.g +5 stats no matter what time of day

Gnomes/'hobbits' lol etc would have the reduced size and liek 10% faster walking speed permenantly

(so you can see a breaker's appeal to this, however would have reduced defense, or something )

as well as a bonus e.g in PD or flee etc etc

titans: etc would have enlarged size, enlarged defense but slower walking speed (-10%) but a vit bonus or small demi-humans resist bonus etc (basically your tanker paladins or w/e would love these, and would be a toss-up between this and human)

if you follow what im saying with the race system you would see each race has its pro's and con's and each has its antagonist and its support class

e.g if a human and a dryad are together = best for the human

humans vs night elves/elves

dryads vs undead

undead vs everyone else

gnomes vs everyone

titan vs human

everyone vs titan LOL

basically humans = balance. not a risky job doesn't stand to lose too much from the current classes and system we have

undead = very powerful but at a sacrifice, if a dryad is there they should get owned 99% of the time

elves and night elves = best for magic classes and if you are a flee/ sbk type sinx etc etc

gnomes or short stacks or w/e "the little people" are best for speedy/ breaker/ hard to target classes or anyone trying to not stand out a whole lot.

Titans are best for surviving/ tanking or being a distraction.

now this entire thing would fall into place with 9s plot and quests and everything else

all we need is GM balancing and input here (btw ill write help write up the storyline for the extra races or whoever else if you want)

its my personal opinion that this would make this server liek 500% more interesting and people will never be the same again. you cannot have the same character type and build experimentation would sky-rocket. people would want to find out the best combination especially seeing as each race has its own super pros and super cons.

(the undead and human the more drastic ends, with the gnomes and titans respectively following, and the elves and dryad in the middle).

im sorry, if this gets implemented.. all my characters are going to be either human or undead. i like to live on the edge ./gg

Dryads...FK YOU from now! lol (just saying), btw on the dryad note its not like dryad will be the only healing option. other races will still be able to do what they do,. just dryad would be your best bet.

e.g if your a priest just for the dryad bonus you'd WANT to become a dryad..unless you were a HL priest then you'd go night elf etc etc..see what i mean?

or if u just wanted to tank and survive go titan. etc etc

(sorry for the long post)

edit #2:

someone just pointed out that this may screw up skel worker effect

i might say this is a good thing!, so that the titan and gnome classes would have tht advantage at times..especially titan which would be like the designated defense themed race. make for better strategy no?

I hope with this race thing you guys don't have sprite alternatives in mind, because 1; this will most likely be impossible without receiving gravities client source and 2; just getting something like this working/started would take weeks of programmingscripting & testing.

Where's the limit with this idea? Because that's something I like to prepare myself for, besides my new job (15-30 hours), school 40+ hours and social life(?????, hehe got you there) a week.

Posted

This is a script only, no source touching lol. Made it simple so it would be something actually do able yea there's a lot of merit to the idea and a lot of stuff that can be done with it. But ofc that would never happen lol

Posted

lol i just suggested the race thing, no mean to offend anyone's free time lol.

i've seen it used similarly on other servers that have been top in the charts for many years

i can quote these servers if you don't believe me. lol

but anyways the focus here is on 9s' suggestion, what i said was just a btw for anyone reading this.

I like nines idea, but I do hope we can do away with quests that make you collect a buttload of items, and finding a number of hidden npcs. Make it challenging and rewarding, but not overly time consuming. Make the quest actually enjoyable to do. Example: I'd rather kill thousands of enemies but not having to collect the items.

Posted

I'm going to accept this since it's a very good idea. Again, there is no guarantee of it being implemented in this fashion. If anything, it will be altered to fit in with the storyline. Thank you for the suggestion!
