Zalera Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 (edited) I have the same problem Sauce did, though Ive tried everything and still nothing has solved it. Patched it, clicked start, it tries loading the server screen then exits out and disappears. Ive uninstalled it 3 times and resinstalled it, restarted and shut down my comp, nothing shows up in processes, looked at my firewalls/changed them and still to no avail, nothing has remedied this problem. Can anyone help me? Havent been on in the past month. o.o Edited December 21, 2010 by Miracle Changing the title of the topic to fit the new format of the support forums.
Miracle Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 So are you using the all-in-one? If not, I highly recommend it since contains the exact, nothing more or less, files required to play fRO. If you are doing so, it could be that the download of it was missing some files. I would download the halloween patch here and unpack it into your RO folder, replacing any files which it prompts you to replace. I have problems directly starting a client via the start button on the patcher, I simply patch and open the client using the .exe application.
-R e i Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Hey, something like this happened to me in the past, I think the problem was the computer but I can play other games like O2JAM Phil. So in other words, it doesn't want to work T_T Try changing something in your setup.exe located in your fRO Folder. Sorry if I can't help.
Zalera Posted December 7, 2010 Author Report Posted December 7, 2010 Hmm, I will try both ways. I have downloaded the All-In-One multiple times and alternated downloading the small patchers after uninstalling everything when I tried again previously.
Zalera Posted December 7, 2010 Author Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Neither one of your remedies worked with my Ro window problem and also there is another problem to add on. Edited December 8, 2010 by Zalera
Sensation Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Delete fpatch.ini, after that right-click on the Forsaken-Patcher & select "Run as Administrator". Be sure to have your internet explorer windows closed, because I think something in there is claiming the process while the patcher throws up a pop-up. Are you able to run the game without the patcher? Fkenro.exe is the game client, try to run that file.
Zalera Posted December 9, 2010 Author Report Posted December 9, 2010 Ok, the first part, the deletion and Run as Administrator still did not work. However, I did get to the login screen finally with the Fkenro file but I got the Fail to connect to server error message and cannot get past it.
Sensation Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Try at different time intervals, I assume that you deal with a connection problem on this specific problem. About the other problem, I'm honestly a bit lost.
Sensation Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 That your problem isn't solved by all of these options. So I don't know what else to say to solve the issue. That's what I meant.
November Thunder Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) Well my only suggestion to you is i had a simlar issue and uninstalling and deleting all folders or anything that says on ro or fro is deleted than redownloading the all-in-one fro and go to properties then compatibility then change the window compatiblity mode to ur os system and see if that works. Genesis Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 You could always run Fken.exe if this fails to work. We release manual patches with the latest files shortly after a patch is released.
Zalera Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Posted December 21, 2010 Thank you all for your generous help, I have tinkered around with RO and fixed it myself. I just deleted some extra files in the Ro folder and opened up Setup.exe and changed half of the options available and booted up Fkenro after I closed IExplorer. It seems to have been the remedy so far, as it still works now even with IE up and running in the background and also works now booting up the patcher and letting it update itself.
Miracle Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 I am glad your problem has been fixed. I hope it stays working and if anything else arises please seek further help back here! =]
