Tom & Jerry Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Hey everyone of fro, it's time for another suggestion! Powers of the President: Can broadcast for Half Price Can Buy all NPC related items for a 30 % discount. Can sell all items to NPC for a 30% Profit Can Push people back who are violating the 3 cell rule. Can host Marriage Can Acess the Forsaken Ragnarok Underground Dungeon for free. Leave comments on other powers. So i was thinking, why not give fro a president, Someone who can help out people, and their namek should be changed color. This is also a person who can help out anyone, this person should have extensive knowledge on RO, should be an old player, and should be CITIZEN elected. That's right, like all presidents, I believe this job should be elected by fro players, instead of applicated for, people who wish to run at first should send in an application, and the gms will pick the candidates, but the final decision should be from the player body. What do you think? this person has some powers of a GM, and should definitely be someone with a good attitude. Leave arguments/agrees. Please do Not flame this post with unrelated topics. Thanks.
nines Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 This is sort of like the support guild that was suggested but those people were just regular people helping no powers or what ever. So im sure that this will get shot down. Especially since you said citizen elected....people here only vote for there friends not who they think is right.
supream Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) eh why not. but the president shouldnt have power to do stuff to other players. like pushing people back 3 cells. marriage is ok. Edited August 27, 2010 by supream
Justice Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 Hmm... It's interesting, but I'm not so sure this is such a great idea. Seems like we'd be hiring a sub-GM or something. Few GM commands... Even just giving the marriage command to a regular player could be dangerous. It could easily be abused if given to the wrong person. Discounts and such doesn't seem so fair either. Even we GM's don't get discounts on items (not that we need them, but still). Giving a player the recall command (or as you call it: the ability to move someone 3 cells away), is a huge risk. That could also, be abused even more so than the marriage command if given to the wrong person. I can see problems and complaints flying left and right from that one. With all that said, I don't see too much of a point of administering a President. Why not just hire them as a GM when the time comes around, if they are good. I'm sorry, it's an interesting thought, but I don't think it's a very good idea to implement.
Justice Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) I think the abuse of a command would recieve a much more severe punishment than just getting removed from presidency. Edited August 27, 2010 by Justice
nines Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 And that would be what happens. You would have like 90 weddings every day have tons of broadcast especially since its citizen voted. What would be nice to see is Sub Gms put in and the sub gms who get chosen and stay active help etc etc get promoted to full gms.
maxlittle007 Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) The President will buy stuffs on discount for their gf/bf or best friends and sell stuffs for profit the same way.He can farm yggs and leech his friends for free? The chances of abusal are more here. What makes you sure the president might help other players? Theres already too much drama, we dont want politics mixed with that. Drama+Politics = Total Chaos Edited August 27, 2010 by maxlittle007
Ryuk Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 The current idea is WAY too abuse able. And I dont see why such a "President" should have such privileges compared to all other players (including GMs). I pretty much agree with what Justice posted.
Wish Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Unfortunately, I have to agree with the reasons mentioned above. Thank you for the suggestion, though! - Rejected -
