Bank Npc

So I was wondering why there is not a bank NPC on this server. Most servers have them and I thought it was a common thing.

I would like to suggest a NPC that you could deposit Zeny to on a given account. All characters on this account could withdraw and deposit the Zeny at the NPC.

I feel that this would save time and effort from people having to disperse money throughout their accounts for repairs/broadcasting/etc...

I don't think it would be too hard to implement as, like I said, I have seen many servers with this feature. It's usually the same NPC sprite (a guy in a butler's looking outfit) so I imagine someone developed it and it is just "borrowed" by many servers.

Perhaps it existed at one point and was abused or something?

I don't believe this should be a top priority but I think it would be something that would make everyone's game play easier... Aren't we all tired of loaning someone 1m?

I agree. It's aggravating being asked "let me borrow 1m" every few seconds. This would help save time for people who switch characters a lot(Like myself and Xtopher). Or maybe even it could be like guild storage and you could have multiple accounts chained to it?

Well, the problem with that is if someone "hacks" or gets access to one of the accounts they could steal money from all of them connected.

Ah yeah didn't completely think that out. Thanks for pointing that out xD. Maybe if there was a possible way to set like a Bank Pin? Like a 4 digit code, and only the person who set it could get it or something? Just something off the top of my head :/.

What about the NPC at fcity which allows you to turn zeny into coins, or coins into zeny? Then that will have no use? I agree with this Bank NPC though, it will be easier than the coin thingy, because for example if you want to withdraw some money you don't have to do the exchanging coins for zeny or whatever, you will already have the money as zeny.

Hm I don't know if you are aware that Hackers usually if not always goes for the items and they doesn't give #%^# to care about the zeny (Sorry if the weird signs makes you think it stands for some bad word cuz it doesn't it stands for time).

So yeah I agree with the bank, because it drives me crazy to be transfering zeny from one char to another and it's even more tiring when it's from an account to another.

The 4 digit code would be account specific... meaning that no one from another account could pop in your code and withdraw funds. The code goes with your account and can only open the bank while on your account.

There is already a way to transfer items through an account (@storage).

It could also lock after a certain amount of times getting it wrong? Like x amounf of wrong tries and it auto logs you out and you can't try it again for x amount of time?

That may be possible but would maybe require more development time than the team may have. Also, resetting it could be a problem unless there was something put into the control panel.

I think some , if not most of the suggestions given here require quite some scripting work. And since the need for such an NPC is not that huge, I think we have more important things to change/script first.

Oh, I definitely agree that there are more important things to work on. Like I said in my first post: I believe there is an already existing script/npc out there for this. I was just wondering if it could be implemented and if not then that's fine.

This is definitely not a top of the to-do list suggestion. It's just something I thought all players would appreciate being implemented.

Though I am in favor of this 110% and would love for this to be added, it unfortunately comes with too many risks. :'( Bankers make it possible to dupe zeny, etc. and have other not so good risks. :( So for now we will just have to make due with the coin converter.
