Adamxd Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Could guild names disappear or turn into "null" like character's names?
Cirrus Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 As far I see with the people who do come back as "null" but still have guilds, apparently not. :/
Ethereal Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 From what I've seen so far, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure character names are different than guild names. Also, I'm not sure how this relates to suggestions... so I'm guessing this should be moved?
Adamxd Posted July 13, 2010 Author Report Posted July 13, 2010 I just wantEd to make new guild and all fine names are taken but never seen any member of this guild:/
Supreme Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) In most cases it's being reserved by someone, or was taken long ago by someone who doesn't play anymore. Moved to support, since this is a question not suggestion. Edited July 13, 2010 by Supreme
Renegade Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Cassiopeia is right. Adamxd said could, not does. I'm moving this back to the proper section. And I agree with this suggestion. Just my two cents.
Xtopher Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 How exactly are you suggesting that it work? Like: X amount of time after Guild Leader's last log-in or X amount of time since the last guild member log in. I could see the issue of it just being reserved by someone and if that's the case nulling guilds will not help ya. I have a few novices just to reserve names for future characters/prevent clones or fakes of my username.
Adamxd Posted July 14, 2010 Author Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) Lol Srs but who cares if someone reserved it? If you log in on your novices it's fine then, but if I've never seen any member of XXX guild that's unfair. One man came like 2 years ago and was playing for one hour, took guild name and he's gone now with cool guild name. Edited July 14, 2010 by Adamxd
Ryuk Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 To get things straight. 1: No guild names do not change to null like character names. 2: Character name changes to null are not character based but account based. If you do not log on 1 character for a year but you do log onto other characters on that account , none of your character names will be changed to null. 3: The actual changing to null is an database script, I'm not sure if this can be done to guilds as well because I'm not sure how their IDs work and how they are connected to their guildleader or guildmembers in the database.. I'm afraid this would require quite some scripting work if it would be possible at all. 4: I'm not moving this topic again but in my opinion he's asking a question, not properly suggesting something, hence why it should not belong in the suggestion section. He's asking if something would be possible, he's not asking for something to be changed.
Veracity Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I do not believe that this is possible. I don't think it's that important anyways, though I know it can be annoying to not be able to get a guild name that you want. But hey, it encourages creativity! - Rejected -
