ramonjordan Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Just wondering if its possible to let shield chain be element enchant-able , it really sucks having gr completely counter shield chain. That way people can play pally instead of just going 300 vit/reflect it could add some variety.
bankai` Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Yes paladin already suck as they are I don't see why not to this suggestion I agree
Perishable Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Nah. Its just like every other counters. Ghostring counter pally and creator etc
nines Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 -agree- pally only having reflect option or ws and matyr option is pretty lame with shield chain bonus could be used as an actual pvp class instead of wait for them to hit me.
Sorrow Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Shield Chain is meant to be a very powerful skill for paladins, as it was meant to be, so it should. Therefore agreed with the suggestion...rise its damage while we're at it lol
nines Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Well the damage of the skill would probably be good just with the element seeing how it hits 5 times and spams pretty damn fast, only reason its not that great is because of gr.
Deceptive Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 I agree, it'd add a bit more variety to Paladins. Currently they pretty much have reflect or Devo.. Not really any actualy combat options except for Martyr's Reckoning.
supream Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 i didnt know that shield chain couldnt be element changed.
Deceptive Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 i didnt know that shield chain couldnt be element changed. I recently just noticed it. O__O;
Kittie Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 yah o man i agree very much hehe. On the 99/70s I used to play, Shield Chain pallies raped and showed off the versatility of that branch of the Swordman class.
ramonjordan Posted July 9, 2010 Author Report Posted July 9, 2010 Any Gm's have thoughts on this? I would love to have this accepted.
Exhibition Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Woah, I agree. More versatility, pl0x. Most of Paladin's offensively-oriented skills (read ; get STR) completely SUCK in a high rate environment.
supream Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 i agree but how would you fix it? the converters change your element type of your weapon, and shield is a different class. so would u change all converters to change element type of shield and weapon?
Rune Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I really would like to see this happen. Shield Chain is a very good, useful and strong skill that unfortunately loses all its power when brought into HighRate standards.
Cirrus Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Make the skill so that it takes the element your weapon is enchanted with? I don't know much about scripts but I don't think the effect is that way, like elemental enchantments going to your weapon only. Skill scripts should have their way because if not Asura would be elemental if your weapon has an element, wouldn't it? I agree though, this wouldn't make Pallies OP. Shield Chain needs STR to have higher damage, so it's a completely different build if they'd want to go STR. Offtopic, makes me think of FA on a Sniper too, and that it takes a completely stat factor as well. But that's been suggested and frankly I do not know where it went.
Rayray Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Agree. I am getting tired of using pally who just sits and waits for people to attack him
Xtopher Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I say give it to them. I feel every class should have some sort of offensive ability and as Martyr gets powned by redux and costs a chunk of your HP I think this would benefit them a lot. They are a great supportive/defensive class but at heart they're a swordsman branch and are meant to be able to use offensive skills effectively as well (just not as effectively as Lord Knights).
Xtopher Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I didn't mean they're meant to be offensive. Just meant they should be able to use offensive skills effectively because of their job branching from an offensively oriented first class.
Veracity Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 This is not viable at this time and in my opinion, it isn't needed. Yes, efforts should be made to make paladins more diverse but... I don't think this is the way to approach it. It would be like saying AD should be able to change elements because people can put on neutral reductions. So, I agree with Perishable on this. In any case, this can't be edited now regardless. - Rejected -
