Apo Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Don't get me wrong, we've also talked about the side effect of kids with phones who will abuse and have their moms canceling the bills and creating a very high amount of charge backs.
iRawr Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 You cant just cancel a bill, if they bought something they have to pay for it. Sure their parents can cancel their subscription after that. And seriously if a stupid kid does do this who cares? It's his problem not the servers.
Cirrus Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 I believe Elimination pertained to what veg has said, not your suggestion in general.

Kaboom Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Bump, I'm going to have to agree with this, it would make donating a whole lot easier for the younger players IMO.

Apo Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I guess your ignorance lead you to post this, parents aren't obligated to pay those additional fees, they can even go to court if they must but it doesn't go that far most of the time. I canceled a 3000$ bill due to unauthorized additional fees once.

I canceled a 3000$ bill due to unauthorized additional fees once. I'm sorry I just don't see how you can cancel a bill when they have bought the item/coupons. Sure if you had $3k of money you didn't actually spend I can see why that would be allowed to be cancelled. Kids should be on credit phones anyway, you need to be 18 or over to be on a plan.
Wish Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 ^ That'd be a chargeback. People donate, get items, and then don't end up paying/cancel the payment. Then they end up getting banned. I'm not sure how it would work with the phones, but I imagine that it's still possible for someone to contact the company and cancel the payment. So, what we understand of this is that it just adds the donation to your phone bill. Meaning, you could donate anything you wanted, whether you intended to follow through on it or not, and then it would show up on your bill. What I see from that is a lot of outraged parents...and a lot of chargebacks.
Rayray Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 ^ I kinda agree on Wish here. Although like me who doesn't bother getting credit cards, the only method i have left is to donate through western union, and I don't bother with it too. But if we adopt this method, it would be too much of a hassle to the server if they receive a lot of chargebacks.
Elimination Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Maybe make a terms and agreement, where it says something like, you are responsible for what you buy so spend wisely because there are no chargebacks. Wuld that work?
Wish Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 No, that doesn't work...It still wouldn't stop most kids from doing anything. There technically is a terms and agreements when you agree to donate. However, if the parents chose to call their service provider and cancel the payment, there wouldn't be anything we could do.

I honestly can't see alot of people doing this, especially if you warn that if this is done its a permanent ban.
Apo Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Just accept it already, it's how it is and can't be helped, except that more kids own a cell phone than a paypal account, hence more chargebacks.
Veracity Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 I don't see us providing this service anytime soon. This would make it much, much easier for charge backs and we already have more than enough of these as it is. - Rejected -
