Cooper Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) I have been exploring many servers and something I noticed is a GM Assisstant Team(guild). They have no power or autority but are there for those who have questions in game, but dont want to go to forums and wait for an answer or when GMs arnt online or are busy. I would like to start one of these teams, but I know GM would like this stuff run by them before anything actually happens. The Team will be full of knowledgeable people and any person seen trying to claim autority or claim to have a GM ban them will be kicked from the team imidiatly. Please respond or email me at [email protected] with an answer or anything you would like to add to it. Thank you for reading Edited April 9, 2010 by Cooper
Ryuk Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Personally I don't think ForsakenRO needs an guild like this. I think our GM activity is higher than most other servers and we also have plenty of people helping on the forums. The forums are there for an reason. Even though I really appreciate your effort, I think this would cause more trouble than it would actually help. I'll leave this topic open so other GMs or players will be able to share their opinion about this matter. (An copy of this message has been send to the topic creator)
Cirrus Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 There used to be a guild called "Forsaken RO Support" way back, that did exactly this, and the more recent Affinity. If you can get one running with decent knowledgeable people, it would be good for all those newbies whose questions fall on deaf ears. The only "sanctioning" you'll need is the GMs words that when they offer assistance is something like "Use @request regarding questions, or find a member of the "Guild Name" guild for answers to the more game-related questions." Not a bad idea.
Cooper Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 Yes i agree it has potential to fail but has so much more room to grow. As Cirrus said there was a guild that already did this and i was diappointed when I came back to this server and it was gone. The ease of asking people questions and opinions was gone. I just want to get it going again and if it fails it would be quickly dismissed.
Cirrus Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 The best way to start if you really like it is get together your people or formally recruit, and keep broadcasting like once an hour that your guild exists and if anyone has questions you may be approached.
November Thunder Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 i dont like the idea of this andbesides theres always vent or msn to contact a gm outside of fro and tell them to come on
Wish Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Ryuk pretty much said it all. We'd like people to be active on the forum. You are welcome to make helpful guilds such as Affinity and ForsakenRO Support were, but the rule will still stand that you may not use "GM" in a name of your guild or player. This would be taken as GM impersonation. We appreciate your desire to help new players, but not under specific GM jurisdiction. Thanks for understanding! - Rejected -
