gtx0032 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) So this action packed 3d graphic animation mixed with real live action is the newest buzz in film and is being deamed as the movie of the year probably surpassing batman 2. Now i want to hear a gamer's view on this before I watch it for myself actually. As soon as I watch it I will give my insights but so far this is the best action pound per pound you'll be getting by the end of the year! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Watched it and here's my review: For the first few hours viewers were pulled in with the lush green and bioluminescence of every plant in pandora planet. Actually watching it in 3d made it fun to watch because you can actually see the object move differently (falling leaves, buildings and even officers) but the story fails short of interesting. ive see some loopholes in the story which made me think "wtf?! how did happen?!" 1. Avatar Hero is a marine who has a twin brother geektard - cmon hollywood... im sure you can think of somehting better than that. how lucky can you get? apparently in this movie you can get very lucky. his immobilization was just used to emphatize and make him look superior when on avatar mode (which is normal mode in pandora). 2. Colonel Bad Ass can breathe longer without the pressure goggles - in the last scene colonel wearing his mecha armor (anyone remembering alien2 movie) was fighting with female avatar and then male avatar without the hood and almost win. with the harsh pressure condition in pandora i doubt anyone can breathe or hold their breathe in that action. 3. Mother nature answers with animal stampede - this i was sure to happen but i was more dissapointed when i saw it. same animals and the uber panther than wanted to pwn avatar hero became buddies? lol thats too much hurry-endings to me. 4. Storyline seems like the same with any other capitalist/conquering concept - same shit different presentation. Avatar does have superb visuals and very good scenes that made me wow. floating mountains, greens and lots of shining plants does make up the storyline which is mediocre imo. all in all pretty good watch visiually just dont mind the story. 3.5 out of 5 for me.
