Apo Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 The new Nokia n900 is out in the states, as a user of a Nokia n97 I am definitively going for the n900. For once you have a phone actually not just competiting but also killing the iPhone 3GS in every angle from tech specs to operating system, to look and every single things you think think of. The phone is a slider with a QWERTY keyboard and Touch with a 5MP Camera with Carl Zeiss Lens and a 2MP Camera in the front for Video Conferances or whatever you feel like using it for. It has 32GB space and you can insert a 16GB Micro SD and reach up to 48GB of total space! This phone is based on the brand new Maemo 5 Operating System perfect for web browsing and smooth interface. Cirrus Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 (edited) Impressive. Always liked Nokia. And as someone who'll never get an iPhone, well, I think I found what I'd get next. Edited November 25, 2009 by cirrus
theluffmuffin Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Very nice. I think I had heard something about this phone but never really looked into it at all. I'll have to check it out.
Levis Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Looks brillant. How much does it cost over there? I guess in Germany about 300-600 Euro(?!)

Rich boy! My phone includes a phone that can call, text, set alarms and reminders and take pictures. It is win. No fancy stuff!. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..... .. get me one of those plz :( Edited November 26, 2009 by Antagonist
Gilgamesh Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 That's definitely not a must-have.
Apo Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 Eww Blackberry, not to offend Blackberry users, but if you look at the tech specs with new releases... the Blablberry Bold 9000 and 9700 has the same tech spech bu no ball wheele same damn design just a bit modified and a 3.2mp camera instead of a 2m0. Why releasing such crap? You pay for the name... And its price is 649$ USD but for me it'll be 750+ and shipping because it's not in canada =[
Levis Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 That's around the amount I guessed. If it's better then an iPhone, then people should think about to buy that one instead of the new iPhone 3GS
Apo Posted November 28, 2009 Author Report Posted November 28, 2009 Or just wait for early 2010 when the HTC Touch HD 2 hits the american market then it's over, iPhone will die.
Rayray Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Ill get that nokia if I could, but no.... COLLEGE IS KILLING MY MONEY.
lvizcarra Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 i work for a network provider in USA. just make sure to have those manuals with you, its kinda hard teaching people how to read text messages, why the F get a phone. and dont be such a low life asking for credits. you have to pay for credits. (im not generalizing, we do have hundreds f people calling in just to beg for credits.)
Sensation Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 It runs on windows mobile, it fails, HTC Hero runs on Android, it's a lot more smooth & it crashes/bugs less.

Got it the second week after it came out for T-mobile (back when it was exclusive) and paid full retail D:. I owned the Pearl 8100 before then and that phone got me addicted and now it's hard to switch over. I don't care about the tech specs that much - as long as it does the job it's good. But for me it's the way that it does it. It's just so user friendly once you get used it and the way that it integrates everything together so your messages (SMS and Email) are all in one place and you can shoot out messages in every format using one "Application" for lack of a better term. It's just efficient. It may not be fancy - but it gets the job done and done well. I don't need a 5 MP camera on a phone or a great MP3 player on my phone. That's what my iPod is for and my camera. Even if I had an iPhone, I wouldn't really use it for music - I'd buy another iPod, lol. Edited November 28, 2009 by Kittie
Apo Posted November 28, 2009 Author Report Posted November 28, 2009 if you buy an iPhone and an iPod, it might be the most retartded option to do, ever. it's like both the same, but in one thing. Same basics as your Blackberry no? All-in-on Application.
Kittie Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 (edited) I like keeping my music and my phone separate. I interpret the all-in-one feature of Blackberry to mostly be one place where I can retrieve all my texts and e-mails. Besides, the marketers at Apple advertise the iPhone to be that all-in-one device for music, multimedia, and for your phone. It doesn't appeal to me, so I wouldn't get an iPhone anyways. Blackberry is aimed towards people who just want to get the job done, even if a bunch of knockoff Coach-toting dyed-blonde headed preteens are all getting one - encased in a pink jelly skin as well - which disgusts me. The iPhone's target customer and RIM's target customer may be similar, but there's a few things that make them different. I don't like all Blackberry phones though. Ew to the Storm. :< Edited November 28, 2009 by Kittie
Apo Posted November 29, 2009 Author Report Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) Windows Mobile is a huge flaw.. concidering the phone has a 1 GHz processor and bunch of specs that on an Android phone it would be the best phone ever but still chose Windows Mobile 6.5 which is why its sluggish and such. But Nokia n900 and its Maemo 5 the only issue is the Resesitive screen, if it was multitouch like iPhone and such in a capacitive screen it would make it a must have for sure. Sensation Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 It's a 5 digit phone, need to calculate the decimal numbers before you can call; it's a phone for geeks.
